Insucure (Open)

Anne ran up to the abandoned tower. She wanted to jump, she wanted it all to end. No matter what she told Damien or Parker, she wasn't ok. She was tired of crying, sick of trying, sure she smiled, but on the inside she was dying.

She just couldn't do it. She had considored suicide before, but her mother always talked her out of it. She closed her eyes and got ready to jump.

Alcyone had her head bowed as she made her way up to a tower she knew to be Abandoned. It had become her sanctuary, her way to escape the horrors of the world. She clutched a letter tight to her chest, tears sliding down her cheeks. She wished she could jump, just end it all - but she could never abandon her sister and brother like that. She could never abandon her life like that.

As she reached the top, she saw a Gryffindor girl and gasped. The girl looked ready to jump, and Alcyone leapt forwards. Her arm wrapped around the girls waist and she tugged her back.

Anne felt someone tug on her waist, she open her eyes and looked at the girl who had pulled her back. She didn't know what to say. "let me go." she siad in a very soft voice. she didn't want to be saved.

"Why did you pull me back?" she asked, she was searching her head for a reason not to jump, she believed in fate, and if fate didn't want her to jump she wouldn't but she needed a reason to live.

Alcyone released the un-known Gryffindor quickly, but she placed herself between Anne and the edge of the tower. She crossed her arms and frowned, worried about this girls mental well-being. What could make her so sad, so troubled that she would want to throw herself off the edge? Alcyone looked back briefly at the edge, and she felt a tug towards it, but she stayed strong and returned her gaze to the Gryffindor.

"You wanted me to just watch whilst you jumped off? Really? I'm not some evil Slytherin - in fact im barely a Slytherin. Only in this house because I begged that hat, otherwise my consequences would be severe. Wish I was a Hufflepuff, much nicer house." Alcyone found herself rambling, and she frowned with her lips pursed.

"But enough about that, I want to know why you would want to toss yourself off?" Alcyone asked.

Anne didn't know what to say. "I just don't want to do it anymore." She closed her eyes and thought of the people who cared for her, she was stupid. Why did dhe want to jump. She thought of her new brother, she smiled, thinking of what he would say.

"You're right I shouldn't jump." she told the girl quietly.

Alcyone sighed and moved back over to this Gryffindor's side, her arms wrapping around the girl as she hugged her close to her in a way of offering comfort. She knew that at times when she felt everything was all too much, when life was so un-fair, she really could've used a hug. But, she'd managed to grow strong and suffocate the feelings, bury them deep within her. She rubbed her hand over the girls back with a sigh.

"I know, sometimes it's all too much isn't it? I know I have often wished to throw myself off of this tower, plummet to the earth and never live again. But it's not right. There are people who care about me, people I need to protect, people I love. I could never abandon them like that." Alcyone released her, but tugged her down into a sitting position with her.

Alcyone smiled as Gryffindor girl agreed she shouldn't jump. That was progress if she did say so herself, and she did. Now, she had to find out what was bothering her. Alcyone knew it would seem weird for her, some random Slytherin coming to help her out, but Alcyone wanted to help her out.

"Whats wrong?"

Anne sat down and sighed, "Thanks" she said it was nice of her to help.

"My mother just died and it's my fault." she explained, it was the esiest explanation. She just waited wanting to judge her reaction.
