Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara walked into the Blackened Heart with a sigh. She had asked the werewolf to join her. She wanted to fight the battle the creatures were currently in. Not as in bloodshed, of course, but as in very undercover. She leaned back in the chair, and then felt like a glass of blood. She wasn't a vampire, but mermaids and vampires pretty much had the same diet.
"A cold B negative, please," she said calmly to the bartender.
The man gave her a puzzled look and then went to fetch it. Probably because vampires liked their blood in body temperature. But she liked human blood only when the blood had gone cold in the veins under the sea. The man came back with the glass, and Tamara took a big sip. It was delicious. As for B negative, it didn't matter to her. She just liked to say B and negative. She then looked up as the door opened, and a dark, tall shadow was standing in it.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict wondered which creature it was that had sent him the note of meeting him at the Blackened Heart, but he didn't care. He walked into the bar, and his eyes instantly landed on a beautiful woman. She had to be a siren or a dryad. But then he saw the glass of blood. He frowned. She couldn't be a vampire, she smelled too ... fresh for that. He wondered if it was her that had asked him to come.
He walked over to her. "Are you Ms. Aquaila?" he asked politely.
He tried to find out what creature she was, but he couldn't. He'd met a siren before, but they didn't drink blood. Not many at least. And a dryad certainly didn't.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
The man walked over to her, asking if she was Aquaila. "Please, call me Tamara," she said with a wave of her hand, gesturing for him to sit down.
She could see that he was looking from the glass to her, and she understood that he was wondering what she was. She'd leave him guessing for a while.
"So, you must be Benedict," she said calmly, "I suppose you're curious about why I asked you to come here?"
She studied him. He did have the build of someone in authority. He wasn't the one you wanted to run into in a black back alley. Unless you were someone who liked stuff like that. But his blood was appealing to Tamara. Well, blood was always appealing to her, but she hadn't met a werewolf before. She was playing with the idea of tackling him to the floor and sinking her teeth into his skin. Of course, she refrained from doing so easily. Being a mermaid meant you had control over your urges and it was much easier than it was for a vampire.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict looked at her and then sat down opposite of her. He was unusually silent, trying to fish up every single creature he knew of that drank blood.
"Yes, I am indeed wondering why you wanted to speak to me. What is it that you wanted to ask me?" Benedict asked calmly, not really paying attention.
What was she? She wasn't a dryad, she was too tall. She wasn't a siren, sirens didn't drink blood. So what was she? And then Benedict's frown slowly decreased. He understood now.

Tamara took a sip from the blood. "I want to help you," she said calmly.
She looked at him as he tried to figure out what she was, and when his forehead's frown disappeared, she knew that he figured it out.
"Pretty obvious, isn't it?" Tamara asked with a soft smile.
Mermaids were pretty usual, actually, but there were only so few that could walk on ground and drank human blood. Most mermaids were vial and disgusting, but the mermaids of Durmstrang, born above waters was completely different.

"You want to help me?" Benedict asked, "How?"
Was she talking about the creatures gathering against the war? He couldn't know. She had to tell him so. He then nodded. It was pretty obvious.
"So, then you live in Germany?" Benedict asked her calmly.
He had never met a mermaid from Germany, another creature to add to his collection.

"Because, as you've figured out, I am a mermaid, and it is very easy to disguise myself. I'm a first year student on the Durmstrang institute as of yesterday. Will you let me help you?" Tamara asked.
She then nodded. "I lived under the Ice of the Durmstrang institute. When the war began, I started paying more attention to the foolishness of humans. And now it's been raging so long that I'm tired of it. I want it to end," Tamara simply said.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict raised an eyebrow in surprise. She was a student in her first year? But she looked twenty... Could it be that mermaids could conceal their age?
"You don't look like a first year student," he remarked dryly.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara snorted. "No joke," she said calmly.
Then she looked around, making sure that the people there weren't looking at them at the moment. She then looked back at Benedict with a secretive smile. Then she got smaller and smaller until she looked eleven.
"See?" she asked him calmly.
She was more than just a mermaid, she was magic. And no, she wasn't shy about herself. Not at all. Then she turned back to her true, physical age. Not in mind though. She was much older than twenty in mind.
"So, will you let me help you?" she asked him.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict watched in curiosity as Tamara changed from a twenty year old to an eleven year old. She then turned back and he raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, I think you could be of use," he said slowly, "But you do realize that I don't want intel on secret passages and the weaknesses of the professors. You do realize I just want to know if they are planning another attack, right?"
He hated the war. He wanted it gone. And he was not parttaking in it. Should it come to that, should it come down to their last restort, Benedict wouldn't fight. He was either a coward for not having a strong enough will to fight, or a too wise man to level with the humans.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara nodded. "Of course I do. If I didn't I would've gone to another person with the information, like, say, Britain? Seriously, I'm not a foolish wannabe that wants to kill off our population like humans do. Don't think so little of me, Benedict. Honestly, it's insulting," she said, her voice going from obvious to cold.
"But I do not know how long I'll be able to stay," she said calmly.
She didn't know how long she'd be able to fool the others that she was on their side. She was certain that she'd be able to do it for at least a few years, but she wasn't sure how much longer. She could guess up to four and then it got scary to even guess.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict frowned slightly. "I am sorry," he said calmly.
She was smart, that was clear, and she was at least as sick of the war as he himself was.
"I understand," he said, "But it would be a favour for us."

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara smiled. "Good. Now that that's settled, how about a nice drink?" she asked him calmly.
He was intriguing, she had to give him that. She rarely found people interesting, and when she did, she liked to talk to them for a bit. It wasn't like the creatures under Das Eis was so very talkative, and she didn't have any sisters left, except for Aquale. So, talking wasn't something she did a lot of.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict looked at Tamara. He figured that taking a drink wouldn't be too bad. But he was a bit weary. After all, she was a mermaid. They were known for their tricksy seduction. But then again, she couldn't be so stupid as to think that Benedict would trust her if she seduced him.
Instead of replying, Benedict gave a sign to the bartender and he ordered a drink.
"You had better not try any seduction manoveurs. I might just end up killing you," he said coolly.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara smirked slightly when he ordered a drink. She then laughed.
"Oh, please, the thought hadn't even crossed my mind," she said humorously. And then she added: "Until you said it, that is."
Here, she gave a wicked grin. "Don't you want to know what it feels like to be seduced by a mermaid?" she asked him softly, reaching out, letting her fingertips trail over his cheekbones.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict rolled his eyes and took a sip from his pint. Then she was suddenly grinning wickeldy and trailing her fingers across his face. He took her hand and pushed it away.
"I'm serious," he said warningly.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara let out a seductive chuckle. "So am I," she said calmly.
She looked deep into Benedict's eyes, though she hadn't turned on her charm. She wondered if she could get him to think that he was being captivated. She wanted to test the strength of his mind. When she turned on her charm, no man or woman could defy her. That was how it went. But she wanted to know if she could fool his mind.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara's chuckle sent a shiver down Benedict's spine, but he simply narrowed his eyes. When she looked deep into his eyes, he was wondering if she was indeed trying to seduce him. But if so, it was a poor trick. He wasn't insnared.
"Is that it?" he asked curiously.
He was surprised at how poor it had to be in that case.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara smiled viciously. So it didn't work on him? Good. Tamara then straightened up.
"Not at all, but I thought you said you didn't want to be seduced," she said calmly, "This is me being true to my word."

"Then don't be true to your word."
The words had escaped Benedict's lips before he had the chance to stop them, but he was curious. Now that the words were spoken, he didn't try to take them back. He wanted to know.
"If you promise not to end up eating me," Benedict added warningly.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara knew curiosity would get the best of him. Curiosity was the worst enemy of the world. She smiled softly and then leaned forward again, looking at Benedict. She could see anticipation in his eyes and she wasn't about to let him down. She smiled softly and sighed. Then she started singing:
"My heart is pierced by Cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There's nothing can console me
But my jolly sailor bold"
She sang the lyrics twice before studying him, still with her seductive expression.
"Are you all right?" she asked softly.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict felt how his breathing quickened slightly when she leaned forward and smiled softly. When she started singing, he was mesmerized at the beauty of it. Then suddenly a flash of something wet passed his eyes before it vanished again. Then his eyes looked deep into hers, but she had changed. She wasn't human anymore. Her hair was flowing around her as if she was under the sea and her eyes were much more vivid. He noticed how he studied every inch of Tamara's lips. He felt the room go hotter. It almost felt like when he was changing, except it was much more pleasant.
When she asked him if he was okay, he couldn't help but wonder why on earth she would have to ask that question. He tried to formulate words that wouldn't sound weird and stupid, but his mind was blurred.
"Never better," was all he could manage.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Tamara smiled and placed her hand on Benedict's cheek. It was warmer than what it had been earlier. She almost smirked. She sang the verse one more time, leaning so close to him that her lips almost touched his. She brushed some of his dark curls away from his forehead.
"I know what you're thinking, Benedict, just do it," she hissed seductively.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Benedict shivered under her touch, he craved more, but he managed somehow, ridiculously enough, to refrain from pulling her to him and ... He didn't finish the thought, because she started singing again. He felt her breath on his lips when she sang and he yearned for them, but he couldn't, he wouldn't stop the song.
When the singing stopped, she grabbed some loose hair and pulled it back. Benedict looked deeply into her vivid eyes. She then told him to do what he felt like doing. Benedict barely let her finish as she hissed at him and leaned forward capturing her lips with his own. His hand immediately went to her neck and pulled her as close as he managed to with the table between them.

Re: Let me help (Ben and Mara)
Before Tamara knew it, Benedict had captured her lips and kissed her fiercely. She smirked against his lips and kissed him back when he grabbed her neck. She enjoyed the feeling for a while, it wasn't unknown to her, but it had been a couple of decades since last time she was kissed. There weren't mermen of her type.
Then she let the seductive charm go, but kept kissing him until he realized what he was actually doing.
