Calming the waves (Aq and Miles)

Myles hated everything in his life at the moment so he curled up into the corner of the common room and pulled at his friend Timothy the razor looked at it and down at his wrists.

'What in life is worth living for now.' He thought he could not see what was worth living for the girl he thought that he loved dumped him for female vampire and he had met a girl that he thought he could be with but she was a Hogwarts student someone that his mother won't want him to see him.

Sighing a little he moved the razor over to his wrist and touched it to the skin and he did not realize how good the razor felt against his skin. A trickle of blood dripped down and he just stared at it.

Aquila was rather shaken after her near-death experience, but she was glad to be free of the Hospital Wing. It had begun to hurt more often since then, her chest, but the doctors had warned her not to use her powers. It made her angry, for how could she help it when her best friend was being attacked by her bully? Her eyes stared up at the ceiling of the dorms filled with sorrow, and an occasional flash of pain.

Her body began to beg her for movement, and she wished she could go down to the Das Eis and relax by the calming water... However, she was frightened of Felix. She was even scared to just wander into the common room, for he was always there - watching and waiting. She feared that one night he would find a way into the girls dorms and attack her. She shook her head to clear it and swung her legs over the side of the bed, pulling herself up into a standing position.

Hesitantly, Aquila pushed the door to her dorm room open and made her way down into the common room, her eyes searching for Felix. There was only one other person there, a boy whom she believed was the brother of Keaira. Her eyes zoned in on the razor, and she let out a gasp as he pressed against his skin, releasing a trickle of blood. She darted over to him and snatched the razor out of his hands with a frown.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Myles blinked as the razor was snatched out of his hand he stared up at the person who took it. And wondered why she would try to stop him from taking his life. What was he to her no one cared for him accept maybe his sister.

"What does it look like I am doing? I am trying to end my life and I would prefer if you would just leave me alone." He snarled at her he did not want any distractions or worse someone trying to stop him.

'What is with this girl why would she care if I live or die. Honestly I am to depressed to even think about staying alive.

Aquila recoiled at his tone, and slid away from him as it reminded her of Felix. Her eyes darted around again, but still it was only the two of them. She felt something sharp dig against her palm and with a gasp she let the bloodied razor drop to the floor. She glared at him in frustration, and in a swift movement she ripped off part of her shirt and tied it around her hand. Without a word, she slid back over to him and gently grabbed his wrist, looking at the cut there.

She ripped off another piece of her shirt and made a mental note to buy a new one. With gentle hands she wrapped her torn piece of shirt around his wrist and tied it up with a bow. She looked back up at him and saw the pain within. She wondered why he would want to kill himself, what could truly be so bad that he would do this?

"I-er, I-I..." she faltered and struggled to find the words. "I'm A-aquila... Aquila Wilson, why would you... want to k-kill yourself?"

Darn boys and their good looks, she thought to herself.

"Because I don't see a point in living any more everything that I hold close or want can be one day or has been taken away from me already. Why should I continue living? What is the point to my life if I just hurt or have been hurt by the ones that I hold close?"

He sighed and stood up looking at her wondering why she cared so much and why she bandaged his arm he liked watching the blood. But he shrugged and stared at her.

Aquila frowned as he spoke, and she wondered how to respond. He still hadn't really cleared it up that much, but she was getting the gist that it had something to do with love. She opened her mouth to assure him that sometimes life was like that, but she was sure everything would get better when he stood up.

She reached out and grabbed his hand, eyes wide still with shock and surprise. She didn't think he should take his life, and she wouldn't let him. She tugged him down next to her again and squeezed his hand gently.

"But it gets better. Really, I promise everything will be alright. Just, don't take your life, okay?"

Aquila wasn't sure what to say, how did you convince someone not to kill themselves?
