Lesson Three - First Years

Briony stalked into the classroom and made sure that the wall of weapons was covered, they would be doing different work today than working on the weapons that they were given last lesson, Briony had decided that wizard duelling was the best option for now...given the state of things.

Sitting down on her desk, she flicked her wand and the chalk resting on her desk levitated to the board to write:

'Expelliarmus'

Which was going to be what the students would be learning today, after all, it was one of the most important points of duelling to disarm your opponent. Patiently, Briony waited for the class to begin.

Anne walked in to class, and looked at the bored. Expelliarmus was writen there, she knew how it worked. But seeing this simple word broght her back to the shack. She sat down and pulled out her wand. Praying that none of the students asked about the bruses, nor the cut that was still bright. She looked at her arm, she could still see the M from the word mudblood.

Jaycie entered the Duelling Classroom and immediately saw Anne, from the Abandoned Tower. She smiled shyly at her, gaze downwards as she made her way over to the desk next to her. "You don't mind if I sit here, right?" she half-whispered.

One word was written on the board. Expelliarmus. Jay mulled that over to herself, wondering where she'd seen it, or heard it, before.

Xander walked into class and found a seat near the front. He rather liked this class. Especially because it was mostly hands-on experience.

He took out he text and started thumbing through it, waiting for class to start.

Briony smiled her usual swift smile at her class and shut the door when all but one Slytherin appeared, she hadn't expected her to so she would have to ask Richard about her reason for not showing up.

Tapping the board with her wand she turned her attention to teaching for today with an almost optimistic manner.

"Can anybody tell me what this spell does?" she asked the class, wondering if anybody would get the right answer.

Anne put up her hand.

"It's a disarming Spell. meaning that if you use it your oppent loses their wand. Depending on the power of the spell it can also throw back your oppent." Anne told her, hoping she got all of the answer.

Briony nodded at Anne as she raised her hand to give the answer, of course it was correct and she was glad that someone seemed ready to volunteer the information that the class needed in order to move fowards a little:

"Very good Anne, 5 points to Gryffindor."

Taking out her wand, Briony used a dummy that was in the corner of the classroom to illustrate the spell to the students, flicking her wand out from her chest as she said the incantation clearly 'Expelliarmus' Briony watched as the 'wand' the dummy held flew out of it's hand and into the air where Briony caught it easily.

"That is how you perform the spell, and if you would each practice it on this dummy, making sure to replace it's wand for the next student after you."
