First years, third lesson: Stupefy and Rennervate

Lucia walked from her office to her classroom, feeling excited for the class at hand. She waved her wand and pillows scattered around the classroom. She then turned to the blackboard and wrote down 'STUPEFY'. Then she sat down in her chair. A glorious cry came from behind her and her phoenix, Sanationem, fell down in place next to her. She smiled, and realized with a sigh that she had forgotten last lesson to tell them what Sana was. That wasn't good.

She shook her head a bit exasperated and then waited patiently for her class to come.

Anne walked into class and glanced at the board, Stupefy. That was an easy spell she had it down.

She took her seat and stared at her stupid scar, wondering why she was now branded with the horrible word.

Yas led Tessa into the classroom. She then took a desk that was far away from Anne. Yas then laid down and took a little nap. She then sat there and waited for class.

Jaycie pittered into class, quieter than a mouse, and saw that Anne was once again in the same class. She smiled and went to sit by her, reading the spell on the board as she fetched her things from her bag. She couldn't remember much about it, just that her mother had used it to stun her dad's brother when he got a bit rowdy.

Noting that many of the students had yet to come, Lucia shrugged and decided it was time to start the class. She looked at her beautiful bird and then up at the students again.

"All right, before we quite begin, who can tell me what kind of bird this is?" Lucia asked the three students.

Upon getting an answer, she then turned to the blackboard. She looked at what was written.

"What kind of spell is stupefy?" she asked them then.

(OOC: If you answer to one of the questions, please don't answer the second question as well, so you can save some for your classmates Razz

Anne raised her hand. "Stupefy is a stunning spell It knocks people unconsous. Rennervate will awaken them." She said once again sounding as though she had swollowed the textbook.

Eva Shoot her hand up at mention of the bird, "That's a Phoenix." she said smileing she wanted one, but their tears could not cure her.

Xander knew he was late, but not by much. As he entered he grabbed the first seat he found and mouthed Sorry, professor.

He knew he would get points taken away, but he deserved it for being late. He took out his book and class things, even though he knew the spell already. Couldn't hurt to practice it more.

Damien was in no hurry to get to any of his classes today so walking in to DADA he knew he was late because class had already started. Looking at the board he noticed the word Stupefy was on the board. Any person with a magical background would know that word.

After noticing the blackboard he looked around the room and saw Anne sitting on one side of the room with Jaycie and then on the other side was Tessa.

So Damien did the only safe thing he knew to do and that was go and sit by Xander.

Tessa knew that Damien wasn’t near her. He was thinking that she was still mad at him. But she had already forgiven me in her mind. But she hadn’t told him yet, she knew that she had to do that. And there was so much in her life, since her real father was back. She wasn’t feeling up to sitting in class. Since her adoptive father went missing, her real mother is dead. There was so much that was happening.

She then raised her hand. “Professor Henley, I am not really feeling up to class today. Is there any way that I can just leave?”

Alcyone hurried into the classroom, under the impression that she was late, which was why she was surprised to discover that she was in fact on time. She saw Anne and Jaycie on either side of Tessa, and she wondered why this was. She hesitated in the doorway, un-sure of where to sit.

"Well done, Ms. Jones, ehm, Devante, maybe? And Ms. Jordan, five points each to Gryffindor," she said softly.

Lucia frowned slightly when Xander, Damien and Alcyone were late. "Fifteen points from Slytherin for tardiness," she said, but wasn't really angry about it.

Then she straightened up and walked over to Tessa. She placed a hand on the girl's forehead without her being able to object. She wasn't much warmer than what was natural body temperature, in other words, she had to be tired mentally.

"All right, Ms. Tessa, you may go," she said softly, "But see me in the infirmary if you feel sick, all right?"

She then looked at Alcyone.

"Take a seat, Ms. Malfoy," she said, her smile returning, "We were just about to start practicing the spells on the blackboard," she explained.

"Ms. Anne, Ms. simple, you two partner up and practice the spells in turn. Boys, you partner up and make sure there's enough cushions so you don't hurt yourselves either. Ms. Malfoy and Ms. Jordan partner up," she said, smiling to them.

"The incantation is 'Stupe-FY' and 'Ren-UHR-vate'," she said calmly and returned to her desk.

"You may begin," she said softly and watched as they performed the spells.

Tessa just sat there as Professor Henley was feeling her forehead. She wanted to check to see if Tessa was running a temperature. But she wasn't, she was tired from everything that was going on in her life. She smiled a little bit when she was told that she could leave. Tessa might later go to the infirmary, maybe she could help her.

“ Thank you Professor.” Yas then lead Tessa out of the classroom.

Anne stood up and moved toward Alcyone, and Jaycie. She enjoyed the company of both of the girls. SHe pinted her wand at them and cast a cushoining charm, so the wouldn't get hurt. The pointed it toward the boys and repeated the spell. "Chudioning Charm, so we don't get hurt." She said smiling at the girls.

"Who wants to try first?" She asked.

Lucia looked at the clock and her eyes widened slightly. She hadn't expected the class to last so long.

"All right everyone! Listen up! Time is up and for homework I would like you to tell me the powers of a phoenix, and a 50 word summary of what you learned this lesson, not including the phoenix," Lucia said calmly.

"Class dismissed!"
