Second Years: Lesson Three Empty Second Years: Lesson Three

Walking into the classroom, she waited for the pair of students to come in. She rolled her eyes at the lack of excitement that second year students had and picked up the chalk.

She clearly wrote on the board :

Careers in the Muggle World

"Good morning, Professor! How was your weekend?"

Victoria was excited for the next lesson. Tess and her had had so much fun interviewing each other about their worlds. Not only was it fun to learn more about each other, it was a great way for Victoria to learn more about the magical world.

She took a seat at the front of the class and got out her book and homework from last class.

Entering the class, she walked in more confident than ever. She realized that Professor Valentine was much more approachable than she seemed. Ever since she learned about her in Muggle Studies she found herself wanting to go to the class and actually learned. She had learned a lot from the assignment that she had given them, and she didn't care if anyone else joined their class, because what mattered was that they were learning.

"Mornin' " she said softly and sat down beside Victoria.

Leshia walked into the muggle studies classroom and saw a few people already there so she went ahead and grabbed a seat and pulled out her parchments and a quill.

Looking at the board she noticed that it said muggle jobs. There were many jobs in the muggle world that they had in the magical world that were fairly the same.

She just sat and wrote some noted while she waited.

She raised her brow seeing that another student had entered and it was no longer only for a pair of student, she smiled at the girl and knew to start her class.

"Welcome! Today we will be learning about the career aspects in the Muggle world. The reason I am saying this, is because I have my own experience in the Muggle World. For example, in the Magical world, I am a Potions Mistress, and am known as an Auror if I were to change careers. But in the Muggle world. I am a physician! A physician is another word for Healer. I want to teach you about this because I expect you to be as ambitious as you can be...but perhaps that might be the Slytherin in me" she said smiling.

She enjoyed this class because she knew two of the three students better and they truly seemed to enjoy it. She hoped Miss Prewett would be able to do the same.

"But I believe that you will be able to do as much as you want to do. Can anyone tell me a Muggle career?"

Victoria raised her hand. "Well...my sister is going to school to be a scientist. More of a researcher actually. She wants to work on finding cures for diseases that don't have them yet."

While growing up she had been jealous of all the attention her sister had gotten. Not only was she brainy, but she had the looks of their mother, who had been an amateur model when she was young. But there vacation back to the states this summer had let them bond more. She really admired Kathleen's commitment to her studies now.

Tess had done some of the reading and raised her hand as well with a small smile. Once Victoria finished, she replied as well.

"I read about literature career, and journalistic careers such as the Daily Prophet. They write about Muggle news and write their own opinions about subjects that they find interesting or debate about."

She had found herself reading a few books from Muggle literature recently and found herself engrossed.

She nodded smiling at the girls.

"Good job girls, ten points for both." she said.

Moving the images before them in the projection she began to explain.

"This is a physician or doctor, as I said, they are the equivalent to a healer. Muggles depend on these people to cure them from everything from a common cold to surgery, to cutting into a human and helping in the cure."

The next image appeared a scientist.

"As Miss Rossmund said, there are scientists who do research that aids in the process of finding cures for new diseases."

She then shifted to Miss McCartney's reply.

"Here, are the artists. People in the Humanities are based on art such as writers who write literature that might affect society and society affects it. We also have journalist as Miss McCartney said that raise awareness towards the issues in Muggle Society and so forth."

Looking at the three girls and smiled.

"Out of careers that you have heard, not just these included would you ever consider entering the muggle world?"

Victoria raised her hand. "I've been doing some research on magizoology. I wouldn't be opposed to working as a muggle zoologist. It would just mean a lot more studying since they have a whole nother set of animals."

She smiled. When she had first heard about dragons really existing in this world, she couldn't believe it. She had run to the library and started researching the heck out of them. This lead her to the interesting field of magizoology, the general study of all magical creatures.

She was only 12, but this kind of career would provide her the adventure she was always looking for and lots of time in the outdoors.

Tess looked at Victoria and smiled knowing that while dangerous the job was really a great way to be free. Raising her hand after her, she softly replied.

"While I don't know if I were to be capable of being part of the Muggle world, and leave magic behind, I wouldn't mind working as a Mediwitch? Perhaps intergrating Muggle procedures to Magical ones. Or working within the government like the British Ministry of Magic as a Minister of Magic"

It was the ambitious nature in her and she smiled.
