Lesson Three - First Years Empty Lesson Three - First Years

Post by Briony Romain Tue Mar 13, 2012 7:29 pm

Briony couldn't believe that her Professor had just decided to up and leave, it was very unexpected and she was left to pick up the slack that came from him not being here any longer, sighing she wandered into the classroom and realised that she knew absolutely nothing about charms.

So, picking up a text book and the notes that the Professor had made on the lessons, Briony flicked through them quickly and decided what she was going to teach, she just hoped they hadn't already been taught it.

Sighing she sat down on the desk and rubbed at her eyes, it seemed like Pepper-Up potion was the only thing keeping her alive these days.

Jaycie slid into a desk and brought her stuff out in front of her. She was at the back corner of the class, away from everyone, as she was feeling particularly anti-social today. Eventually she glanced up and noticed that instead of Professor Devante, the Headmistress was teaching them today. She frowned in confusion but shrugged it off, there was probably some reasonable explanation.

Tessa had walked into the classroom lead by Yas. She then walked to a desk and could tell that something wasn't right.

Tessa blinked. That wasn't' her father. Then it was true that he had ran and left her.

Xander walked into class and sighed. Can never get away from these Gryffindors!!!

He smiled at the new professor, wanting to make a good impression. "Welcome. Hope you like it here." He then took a seat at the back near Jaycie. Her solitary mood was practically palpable to him, but he could live with that. He didn't feel like making chit chat right now either.

Damien had received a owl from the teacher that told him that if he had thoughts of ditching charms he better rethink or he would be finding himself in detention so he grabbed what he needed for the class and head dow to it. Once again Tessa had still not been talking to him so he found a spot in the back of the room and waited for class to start.

He kept glancing over at Tessa wondering when she was going to quit being mad at him.

Alcyone noticed that there was a pattern forming, and it surprised her. She couldn't understand why Damien and Tessa continuously didn't sit next to one another. It didn't make sense, and she decided it was time she talked to Damien. She'd at least like a friend within Slytherin house.

She walked over to the seat beside him and slowly put her hand on the chair, her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. "H-hi Dam-ien. Mind if- if I sit here?"

Lesson Three - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - First Years

Post by Kasey Flynn Fri Mar 16, 2012 2:53 pm

Kasey walked into the classroom, hardly caring if he had happened to be late. Today had just seemed like a carefree day, and some of the people in his classes were just plain irritating.

He took his seat, his book in his hand, sitting somewhat near the back. He leaned back a bit, sighing, as he opened his book and read.

JJ smiles seeing that most of her class was here. She hopped off her desk and mentally took notes on her students.

"Hello, I'm Professor James, I will be your new charms teacher. Today we will be working on Silencing charms. " She said, wanting to get to work right away. She would have a chance to get to know her students later.

"Who can tell me something about silencing charms?" She asked all of her students.

At the question, Alcyone eagerly put her hand up to answer.

"The silencing charm is used to silence the person, meaning that they can talk but make no sound."

Tessa was going to be quiet today, she was still trying to get over her adoptive father death. And he taught Charms, Tessa was trying to pay attention to the class. But her mind was somewhere else.

Vero entered the class a little later than usual.

"Sorry Professor De-," she began when she noticed it was instead a woman. "Um, nevermind. I think, I'll just go sit." She murmured before settling down next to another Gryffindor.

"Hey," she whispered looking at the girl who sat next to her. "Are you alright?"

JJ nodded at Ms. Malfoy's answer. She waited for someone else to speak but no one did. She continued to smile as a Gryffindor girl came in late she decided that for today she wouldn't dock points.

"That's correct 5 points to Slytherin. Now, The incantation is Silencio it is pronounced sih-LEN-see-oh. It works best it you give a sharp jab with your wand." She said demonstrating the action.

She then summoned the ravens that she had for this class and distributed them one to each student.
"You will practice this spell on this bird. You may begin" She told her class.

JJ walked between the desks and watched as they tried the spell.

"Sih-len-ci-oh," she pronounced to herself quietly before smiling. Vero's "cousin", Chazi, had taught her different spells.

"Silencio," she pronounced pointing her wand at the squawking bird trying to stop it's annoying screech.

JJ looked at the time and gasped. Class was over already. She thought it had went well for her first lesson.

"Alright class, good job. For homework, practice. Class dismissed." She said smiling. She didn't believe in long essays. In charms it was about the magic and work.
