Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Lesson Three - Second Years

Post by Richard Romain Tue Mar 13, 2012 8:41 pm

Richard was stood up for once, before his students had had a chance to arrive. For once he wasn't bored and he wasn't tried, no Richard was feeling rather upbeat actually. Standing beside one of the windows in the classroom, Richard bounced on the balls of his feet with a grin.

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Charlotte opened the door to the classroom and saw Uncle Richard standing there looking happy, which was a little strange for her because she rarely saw him happy these days.

Instantly cheered by this Charlotte placed her bag on her usual desk and went over to her uncle, hugging him tightly and snuggling her head into his chest:

"You look happy today Uncle Richie!" she said with a contented smile "I'm glad that you are I was beginning to worry about you."

Haley walked into the classroom and saw professor Romain kicking a ball and Charlotte talking to him. Haley grinned, and found it good to see the professor grinning. She didn't believe she had before.

"Good morning, professor," she said kindly and then went to take a seat in the front, taking up her books.

Keiba wandered into Transfiguration and immediately noticed something was different. Professor Romain wasn't at his desk today - no, today he was standing beside a window, looking positively happy for some reason unknown. She grinned and sat down beside Haley, spreading her books out in a soon-to-be-messy pile.

"Hello everyone!" She smiled.

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Post by Airen Auditoren Wed Mar 14, 2012 1:37 am

Airen entered the classroom and, as usual, noticed that he seemed to be the only male in attendance so far. He noticed the professor seemed to be uncharacteristically happy today. Normally, his face was at best neutral, except when it came to his wife. In class, he was a good professor, but still, a smile was rare to see him have.

Airen sat at the front of the class and waited for Charlotte to finish talking with the professor and for the lesson to begin.

Parker was looking down at the ground as he swung the door open, feeling quiet distracted today. He'd been feeling very distracted and he knew he had to pull it together, especially in the class where he needed to concentrate most.

He looked up, feeling a more charged energy in the class today. He made his way up to the front beside Haley, smiling a little at her.

Victoria walked into class in her usual good mood. This class usually proved to be fun, even though the professor was never overly enthusiastic.

As she moved to her usual seat, she noticed everyone seemed to be in a happier mood. She wondered what had caused it. Taking out her usual class things, she waited for class to start.

Humming softly, Tess entered the class and definitely felt a shift in the whole mood of the room. She looked around and raised her brow seeing that the professor was upbeat for once. She had seen him like that before, that is when he was talking to her about her ambitions.

She sent a small smile his way and sat beside Victoria flashing a wider smile.

Richard grinned when Charlotte greeted him with her usual, friendly and happy attitude. He moved over to her and ruffled her hair affectionately, knowing it would make her pout in annoyance,

"I'm in a good mood today Charlotte!" he turned to face the class with a wide smile, "I'm in a very good mood today class! And do you know what that means?"

He clapped his hands happily and cushions appeared on the desks in front of his students. Taking his wand, he pointed it at one of the cushions, turning it into an armchair,

"We're going to have a relaxing and fun lesson!" he chuckled, "Wand movements are... clockwise turn followed by a sharp jab. Incantation is... Natio. Off you go!"

Haley gave a smile back to Parker when he came and sat next to her. Her smile grew when professor Romain ruffled Charlotte's hair. She wondered what it was like to have him as an uncle, and had a feeling that it was pretty great.

Haley then frowned and looked at the pillow in front of her. Then she shrugged and pulled out her wand. She turned her wand clockwise and with a quick jab, she said "Natio." Nothing happened. She raised her eyebrow challengingly.

"Natio," she said firmly concentrating much harder.

Then the pillow jumped and shivered, and she threw it on the floor before it became an armchair and hit both her and Parker. She then grinned.

"Puh," she said, looking at Parker with an innocent grin, "Sorry about that."

Post by Charlotte Smith Fri Mar 16, 2012 7:48 am

Charlotte smiled happily and walked over to her desk once she had had her hair ruffled by Uncle Richie, sometimes he could be really annoying when he did that although she didn't want to make him upset by telling him this just yet.

Taking her seat she looked at him as he performed the spell and she grinned happily, he made it look so easy she knew that she could do it, taking out her wand she looked at her green tassled pinstripe cushion and she poked it with her wand, getting herself in the mindset.

Moving her wand away Charlotte turned her wand clockwise and made a sharp jabbing motion, quietly she said the incantation; 'Natio.'

Nothing happened at first and then the cushion began to shift slightly, deciding that she needed to keep her concentration up Charlotte focused on the change between the two objects and closed her eyes, repeating the movements she said more firmly:

'Natio!' and had to quickly put the pillow on the floor as it turned into an armchair, much to her delight.

He's so excited Tess thought in amusement.

Still, his mood was infectious and she found herself in a better mood being there. It was funny to her, but soon it all turned a bit serious as class began. Seeing the pillow she picked it up and placed it on the floor carefully. Taking out her wand, she cleared her throat and waved her wand clockwise, and twisted her wrist at the end to point clearly towards it.

" Natio"

The pillow began to shake and it began to morph, that is until it returned out, and seemed to hiccup a few feathers out of it. Biting her lower lip, she tried again, in a firmer voice and a clear jab:

"Natio!"

It did nothing at first, but soon began to shift and turned into an armchair. She smiled brightly, but picked up the left over feathers from the previous hiccup and hid them in her bag.

Tabi rushed into Transfiguration class and once again she was late but it seemed that Professor Romain was in a good mood so maybe that would bode well for her. She looked over to the other students to try and understand which spell they were working on at the moment.

Airen smiled, glad the professor was in a good mood. He smiled at the way he and Charlotte acted liked family. He felt a pang of homesickness for his aunt in Italy. He shook that away and focused on doing the spell correctly. He mentally recited the spell.

Making a clockwise motion with his wand, he jabbed it forward sharply at the cushion. He said, "Natio," and the cushion began to change. It shifted to a brown, leather armchair. It wasn't one of those chairs that had the deep pits dotting the seat and back. It was just a simple leather cushion and a similar seat back. He had, thankfully, set the cushion on the floor before he said the spell. Otherwise, the desk may have broken.

Victoria followed Airen's logical choice and placed her cushion on the floor. She then pointed her wand at it, made the proper movements, and said "Natio."

The resulting chair was a comfortable looking navy blue armchair. Thinking of something interesting, she raised her hand, "Is the spell designed to turn anything into an armchair, or does it have to do with the fact that the cushion is a part of an armchair?" She was trying to see other possible applications of the spell.
