Letters from home

Ebony sat in the Slytherin common room, Ashes sat on her shoulder, nuzzling into her neck softly. She smiled sadly at the owl, she had just received a letter from her brother, things at home weren't going well, her dad had been a lot worse than he normally was since her mum had died. Normally her and her brother would be able to look after each other and defend each other, but now that she was gone, he was left alone, to deal with their dad alone, until she could return home in the holidays, she knew it sounded bad but part of her really didn't want to go home, she just wanted to stay in this castle where there was no one to hurt her or her brother, she wished so badly that Aiden could have come with her, but he wasn't old enough.

She fought back the tears that wanted to slide down her porcine cheeks, she wouldn't let anyone see her as weak, she re read the letter that was still in her slightly trembling hands. Aiden sounded so scared and alone, she hated it, she wanted him to be here with her, than he wouldn't have to worry, they could be happy together.

She couldn't take it any more, she felt so bad about her brother and the fact she had left him, she folded the letter up and stuffed it in her pocket, curling up in the big puff arm chair she had been sat on, pulling her knee's up to her face and wrapping her arms around them as she watched the dying embers of the fire lick at the wood. Ashes hopped off her shoulder and onto the arm rest, nuzzling into her again, trying to comfort her, that owl had always been there when she was upset, other than Aiden it was the only thing that seemed to care about her, her dad may care about her but he didn't act like it...

Melody had just gotten a letter from her mom and she smiled sometimes nothing could brighten your day like reading someone's warning about nargles could.

Ebony slowly rose and decided to take a walk a walk around campus.

She reached the grass and started to walk, she walked to the black lake and sat down at the foot of the tree. She pulled her knee's up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, her head rested on the top as she sighed and thought about everything.

Melody was disappointed to find that her parents had written that she had to wait until all was safe before she could find her real parents.Disappointed but not surprised.

Ebony slowly made her way back to the owlery, her brother had messaged back saying that the charm had not worked, their father had just taken it while Aiden was asleep and he was lost as to what to do.
