New Beginnings (OPEN)

[Briony Romain]

Briony had decided that the only way that she was going to get a little bit of peace was if she came up here to get away from everyone, there were lots of people who kept wanting to talk to her while she was trying to do other things and she just couldn't keep it up any more.

Resting a hand on her stomach, Briony thought that it might be prudent to go and get this sickness checked out, she thought that she knew what it was, but then she wasn't sure that she was ready, despite what she had said to Richard, after what had happened before.

Sighing she looked out at the grounds and wished that someone would take all of the stress and annoyances away, just for these 9 months or so.

[Lolly Hart]

Lolly had some free time and decided to head up to listen to the wise old owl's controversial thoughts. They were always amusing and when you ruffled their feathers it was very entertaining. When she reached the top of the tower steps Lolly was surprised to see Briony staring out across the grounds with a hand on her belly.

Unbelievable amounts of stress where flooding off the Headmistress, and also uncertainty. She seemed to be experiencing that a lot, lately. Lolly wished she could do something more to help her, but she couldn't, snd it made her feel helpless - again.

"Hello, Briony," she said softly, walking up with a smile on her face. "How are you feeling?"

Briony turned and smiled lightly at Lolly as she greeted her, it was a relief to see someone who didn't irritate her, as she quite enjoyed speaking to Lolly, she considered her a close friend and would like to think that she thought of her in the same way, although she wasn't sure on that front.

Smiling her normal quick smile, Briony replied:

"Hello Lolly."

It took her a moment to think about how she truly was and Briony wondered how she could sum it up, deciding that it was probably not the correct thing to do to try and lie to an empath, Briony instead just sighed and answered truthfully;

"I've been better, how are you?" she asked, actually wanting to hear the answer.

[Lolly Hart]

Lolly stood beside Briony and looked up into her face. It was as tired and stressed as usual, but she was making an effort to be cheerful. Lolly liked the perseverance Briony continuously showed, it inspired her.

She thought for a second, wondering if it was really just helpless that she felt... A frown creased her face as she thought deeply, trying to pinpoint what else she was feeling. Lolly eventually located it and was shocked and disgusted at herself.

"I-I feel helpless... and I'm so ashamed to say this... but... I think I feel... bored. Like my life hasn't done anything dramatic. It's so silly of me. Why would I want anything else? I already have everything I could ever wish for." She held back a sigh. This wasn't right, she shouldn't be longing for more, she already had what she deserved.

Biting her lip, she looked back up into Briony's face. "If there's ever anything you need done, outside of this school, you know I'm perfectly prepared to run it for you, right? I don't feel as if I'm doing enough," she grinned a little sheepishly.

Briony smiled lightly and she listened to Lolly, for the first time since she had met her she sounded almost frustrated with herself, and this made Briony almost a little worried about the Nymph, she wondered if she needed someone to talk with more often, maybe she could...no, she wouldn't want to come on a hunt at all.

"Boredom hmm, that's a killer, but I don't know what I could suggest for you to do right now, but there might be something in a few months that you could help me with."

Gazing down at the girl in front of her Briony couldn't help but think that she would be perfect for something that she needed, only if it was what she thought it was, this sickness, she hoped that she wasn't getting ahead of herself.

"You are doing more than enough Lolly, you should find something that satisfies you personally, which isn't always what I or Richard want, but there, like I said might be something that would interest you in a few months, if you could guess what it is that is." she smirked lightly.

Lolly took a few seconds to realise what Briony was talking about, then she put two and two together and realised - Briony's uncertainty, but her mix of hope as well, her suggestion and hints about something in a couple of months... No way! Lolly grinned. She couldn't be!

"I think I can," Lolly said, bursting with happiness. She felt it over ride every other emotion in her head; it was so overwhelmingly strong. But luckily being ecstatic was one thing Lolly didn't mind be consumed with.

"Oh Briony, are you going to have a baby?" She had to stop herself from squealing. She was so glad for the Headmistress. A baby! How exciting!
