Looking About

Morgan looked around her office, it was rather dusty for a room with so many brooms in it. Snatching up a piece of paper from her desk her heart gave a flutter. She'd never taught before, and here she was, her first class containing eleven students. She turned to the brooms dismayed. There were more than enough but they were all rather knobby, straw bare and ragged. She pursed her lips, it was unfair for the first years to be using these, she would defiantly speak to the Headmistress.

Briony had decided that she would like to go and greet the new flying professor, looking at her application she had seemed the right person for the job and she just hoped that she had made the right choice of person for the job, after all, Briony didn't trust easily.

With a small sigh she walked down to the Quidditch Pitches and looked for the woman, seeing someone in the office she went there directly and knocked upon the door with a sharp rap.

Waiting there for the Professor to answer, Briony smirked lightly, and wondered what she would be like.

At hearing the knock Morgan gave a start, she had begun to write a note for herself regarding the brooms and a few ideas she had, had about how she was going to go about teaching her new class. "Um, coming!" she called looking from one freshly ink stained hand to the other, she groaned and wiped them on the inside of of her tee-shirt. "Oh, hello!" she beamed upon opening the door. "How are you Headmistress Romain?" she smiled as she swept her arm wide, motioning a welcome for the other woman to enter.

Briony raised an eyebrow and she heard a commotion inside the room, wondering just what the woman was doing she attempted to peer through the crack in the door discreetly.

Seeing her coming to open the door for her, Briony smirked lightly and nodded to the woman as she opened it for her, stepping inside of her office as she allowed her to.

"Well hello there Professor King, I am doing well thank you, I have just come to see if you need any help and if you have settled in well here." she smiled, cooly, as was her normal nature when she smiled.

"Oh," Morgan smiled. "Thank you for your concern! I was just trying to get a feel of things." she laughed nervously motioning about the room. "I've never taught before and I really don't want to mess things up. D-don't get me wrong I love to fly, it's one of my greatest pleasures, but," she paused resting her hand on her mouth in a thoughtful manner. "I'm just concerned that I won't be able to hold their attention or stress the importance of safety!" she she motioning away, leaving a black streak just under her nose. "And there is one more thing." she said wincing slightly as she hoped the Headmistress wouldn't be offended. "We're going to need new brooms, I just don't feel right asking them to use these!" she explained taking up a broom and shaking it, straw fell to the floor.

Briony was glad that Morgan seemed to be getting to grips with things and had a passion for the subject that she would be teaching, each Professor got a clean slate when they started to work here, she just hoped that Morgan kept this clean slate.

"Well I am sure if you convey it with as much passion as you just did, they will listen to you fairly well, if not, just tell them they wont be able to fly until they can recite the rules backwards." she smirked.

Raising her eyebrow as Morgan left a black streak under her nose, Briony wiped under hers in return and motioned to Morgan; "You've got a little something..."

When she saw the state of the brooms Briony inwardly groaned to herself, how could the flying Professors be so LAX in their own duties? It hardly made sense to her and she nodded;

"I shall definately get some new ones, I can see just how useless the prior instructors were, it doesn't look like these have been serviced in years." she sighed.

Morgan felt relieved at the Headmistress's confidence in her, she laughed at her joke about the rules. "Oh," she said suddenly and swiped avidly at her nose with the back of her hand. "Thanks!" she laughed with embarrassment. "I'm sure they weren't all that bad." she said before adding. "But thank you very much, I feel much better now! Is there anything I could do for you?" she asked wondering what it was that had caused her to come to her office, but she didn't want to be rude about it.

Briony smirked lightly as Morgan wiped at her nose with the back of her hand and she couldn't help but find the woman to be almost a little too happy, although perhaps it was just her mannerism that made her believe this.

With a small sigh Briony sat up straight after taking a seat on one of the chairs dotted around the office with a small smirk on her lips;

"I came here in order to know you better, I hope that won't be a problem, I just have issues with having people on my staff I don't know and have never spoken to properly before."

Still with the same faint smirk, Briony fast a gaze over to a chair; "So what brings you to teach at Hogwarts?"

Morgan, taking a seat across from her nodded knowingly she knew all too well how hard it was to trust people. "The war." she said before pausing. "That's not exactly true though, I've always wanted to be a teacher," she smiled. "There were just so many things I wanted to do, places I wanted to see, but everything got out of hand, you know?" she asked her face falling. "I-I don't regret it thought, I adore children and love to fly!" she said in a rush trying to make up her for folly. "I'm also not very good with the wand so I thought this would be the best way I could help." she smiling again. "What brought you here?" she asked kindly.

Briony smirked gently when the woman said that the war brought her here, this was one flag going up in Briony's mind, despite what she said was she really here to help or was she here to hinder?

"I see, I for one have never really liked teaching although the new students this year are tolerable I suppose, as were last years, hopefully they continue in this vain."

Hearing that the woman in front of her was good with a wand, Briony leant forward with a light smirk still tugging at her lips, she hoped that the day would never come, but if it did, she would know.

"Well then, I suppose you will be aiding us if any attacks on our country are to take place, I thank you in advance Morgan."

Raising an eyebrow Briony chuckled; "I used to be the head of Slytherin, the Headmaster Hades was a fool so I killed him, and now I am in charge, we need a leader, not a prissy boy who used too much gel product."

Morgan was more than a bit surprised that the school's Headmistress didn't enjoy teaching and seemed to hate children dubbing her students a 'tolerable.' This peaked her interest causing her to wonder why she was even here, a lust for power perhaps, or Slytherin's trait of ambition. These theories could wait to be explored. "Of course I will!" Morgan said, her tone that of one deeply offended yet trying not to offend in the same instant. Headmistress Romain's final comment however seemed to confirm her ideas about her.

Briony smirked lightly and was glad that she could see Morgan fighting for her country that was always a good indicator as to whether she was on their side or not, especially if they were going to be coming up against people they potentially knew.

"Well of course, you can just never be too careful with people these days, you know of course what I mean don't you?" she asked, with a glint in her eyes, of course referring to the German spies.

"Spies you mean." she said nodding. "I suppose that's the reason for this little get to know you we're having, isn't it?" Morgan asked as she watched Briony's gleaming eyes. "You needn't worry about me Headmistress." she said confidently as she hoped to ease the woman's concerns, but knew as with all things trust would take time, especially during war.

Briony hummed a little at the back of her throat, so it would seem that the woman was trustworthy, but the only people she trusted completely were Richard and Lucia, the rest of them still had some way to go, even Cobalt.

"Yes, spies...most troublesome indeed when it comes to my job, I got it in the neck when the attack of Hogwarts happened, they thought it was an inside job." she sighed.

Nodding her head slightly, Briony gazed at Morgan.

"I never trust anyone completely, even after years of knowing them, but it is nice to have the reassurance."
