Character Dislikes: People who mock her, judgmental types, war, generally bland things

Strengths: Her very nonjudgmental attitude towards life people and their beliefs, her eloquence and ability to talk rather than fight despite her father’s lax and heavy manner of speech
Weaknesses: She can be very trusting and extremely naïve, is better at doing things with her hands than the wand and lacks the skills needed to hold her own in a very serious duel
Background Information:
To properly begin we must first say something about the man who raised her, his name is Uirch, and he is a half-giant. His father who had been and adventurous youth at the time of Ulrich’s conception was nowhere to be found for his birth. His mother Ilma raised him alone in the sometimes harsh and judgmental giant society into which he was born. Ulrich never had any friends growing up and was forced to care for himself much of the time leaving the flame haired youth to be very withdrawn and lonely. His mother abandoned him when he was nine leaving him to do for himself what he had been doing over the past three years, save without the protection of the community.
Ulrich was as plain a half-giant as one could be, and was never called to be a wizard. He led a strictly solitary life until at seventeen he helped a centaur named Abelard, with a badly broken leg. The fellow youth was similarly an outcast, having mangled his leg during his ritual first hunt his herd shunned him. The two became fast, and lifelong friends Abelard even brought Ulrich what would be the first of many children who he would raise. Each of these children bringing more and more light into his life.
It was his eldest child, Adler the white centaur who brought him Helga a small obviously premature infant who struggled for every breath. Ulrich was soon absorbed into caring for the weak child every waking moment. As a toddler she would ride around the house seated on his boots squealing with pleasure. When she was nine she gave him the fright of his life when she fell from a tree and badly mangled her arm in such a way the gentle man could barely stomach the sight of it.
Her years at Durmstrang were especially hard on both she and her father for each missed the other dearly and Helga, try as she might could not sleep without nor (to her fellow student’s dismay) replicate his comforting, ground rumbling, hear thirty feet away snore. After she graduated her father became very distant and cold, it took her a while realize why and it broke her heart when she realized that he thought that she was going to leave him, effectively all alone seeing as she was the only child left in the house.
Helga still lives at home with her father and has never even entertained the thought of moving away, although sometimes being sat upon (with no intention of causing harm only annoyance and slight discomfort) as his favored form of punishment among his children can get rather tiresome. When she remarks about it however, he jovially comes back with, “Nonsense! I’ve raised ten children this way!”
Biological Mother: Unknown
Biological Father: Unknown
Father: The ham fisted, round bellied, jolly, red bearded half-giant Ulrich.
Siblings: Helga has had nine siblings of all shapes and sizes, all but herself and the youngest have left home.
Her eldest siblings are two centaurs about the same in age each abandoned by their previous herd, Adler brought to him by Aberlard being of his former her, abandoned for his shocking and hard to hide white hair and skin. And Frieda who Ulrich found while hunting left for dead because she was born with a sharp twist in her fore leg. Each of these traits were seen as a deadly flaw that endangered the lives of their herds. They married and moved away to start a herd of their own. Several years later it would be Adler who finds Helga.
Erdmann is next eldest and is a Satyr it is unclear why he was abandoned but he has never let that dampen his jolliest of spirits. Of all of Ulrich’s children who have moved he is the only one who visits giving Helga a hard time every visit, but she loves not really remembering him, having been with the family a few weeks when he left.
Word had soon spread of a half-giant who was taking in orphaned creatures so when a witch stumbled upon three young Wood Nymphs alone and crying there was no question of who to bring the triplets to. Elfi, Elke, Elli are impossible for most to tell apart with their long sun colored hair green eyes and moon white skin, yet Ulrich knew each and every time which sister was to blame for the mischief wrought upon his house. They departed together shortly after Helga turned five.
Amal was seven when Ulrich found him, malnourished alone and nearly froze to death. It wasn’t long before he discovered when the boy had been left to die, Amal had been bitten by a werewolf and was therefore one himself. Amal was the most difficult child to raise and the only who never developed any type of love for Ulrich only allowing himself to feel bitterness and hate. Ten years after being brought into Ulrich’s home he left in a violent rage never to be seen again, Helga was just getting ready to leave for Durmstrang.
A Sprite was brought to them by a wizard who had found her in the garden of his Muggle neighbor her flower home and mother had been cut down by the careless swing of an electric hedge trimmer. Ulrich dubbed the (to him) fingernail sized infant Anelie. To Helga’s amazement the Sprite’s youth lasted only a year and kissing Ulrich on the nose she planted him a lush garden and left to find her own way the month after Helga graduated.
Currently the home of Ulrich and Helga is felling with the sharp cries of a teething Fawn, the newest member of the family, Ägid who has only one arm and spends much of his time bouncing on the knee of one of the two while the other frantically searches for his long lost pacifier.
