Lesson 4: First Years
Professor Eleri Ddriag sat at her desk in the Charms Classroom at Durmstrang sipping a cup of spiced Chai tea while waiting for her new students to arrive. Sat on her desk is a large black and white tom cat and a small emerald green dragon. The cat meows at her tilting his head to one side.
"They'll be here in a minute Toulouse, don't distract them." She replied to the gently purring feline, stroking his head before turning to look at the dragon. A soft knock on the door pulls her attention.
"Come in!" She calls in her soft Welsh voice.

Re: Lesson 4: First Years
Walking into class Annika noticed that only the professor and one other student were there. "Another rotten boy, yuck. He's in a couple of my other classes too. He seems kind of arrogant, like most boys, and I still don't know his name."
Avoiding any seats near Hugo, Annika sat down, and took out a small notebook with pictures of her family in. How she wished she could be there when the new baby came. It should be here by now. Why hadn't they let her know something? She looked at the picture of her mama, big bellied and smiling. The picture was take just before she left home to go to school. A tear started forming in her eye as she looked at it. but she knew she couldn't cry here. She had lessons to learn and things to do. Crying could wait until she was in bed and it was dark.
Wiping her eyes, she got her things out and looked up at the professor waiting for class to begin.

Re: Lesson 4: First Years
Eleri looked at her watch before looking up at her new students. She noticed that one of them, a young girl was a bit teary-eyed.
"Right, I'll get the lesson started now. I'm Professor Eleri Ddriag, now I've heard that you haven't been very lucky with Charms Teachers this year but I'm hoping to change that!
Now, this lesson is on how to animate inanimate objects such as this apple here." Eleri held up an apple before placing it on her desk and pointing her wand at it.
"Animus!" She said with a quick flick of her wand. The apple on her desk started to dance rather crazily on the desk.
"Finite." She murmured, ending the charm.
"Now, I know that you might think that this sort of thing is useless but it's about to control your magic. Can anyone tell me why you think that's important?" She asked smiling at her students.

Re: Lesson 4: First Years
Not sure her voice would work, Annika raised her hand and said, " I guess you don't want something to blow up. Or melt," she added quietly. "Maybe that would be the reason."

"That's right 10 points to Geschick. When your emotions get too strong, if you don't have control over your magic then it can cause outbursts which can hurt you or others." She smiled. With a flick of her wand she distributed fruit to the students.
"Why don't you each try to make your fruit dance? The incantation is 'Animus'." Eleri said, watching to see how the students did.
