Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Richard Romain Tue Mar 27, 2012 7:21 pm

Richard whistled away behind his desk as he waited for his students. He had a very exciting lesson planned for them today and he hoped that they enjoyed what he was going to show them because it was all going to be useful stuff today.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Charlotte Smith Tue Mar 27, 2012 7:28 pm

Charlotte walked into her Uncles lesson, she had heard about his news and was really happy for him, but she wouldn't tell anybody, she didn't know if he wanted anybody to know yet. So Charlotte merely walked over to Richard and hugged him tightly.

"Hi Uncle Richie! I hope that you've got a good lesson planned since it's the last of the year." she joked, before going to sit down in her usual seat.

Haley walked into the classroom and gave a big smile to Charlotte before sitting down near her in the front. She then gave a nod to the professor and took up her books, getting ready for the final class of Transfiguration of the year.

Keiba breathed a sigh of relief as she swung into the Transfiguration classroom. She was almost starting to beg for break to rock around and found herself longing for the train journey home. But all this was made up for, as she happened to be in one of her favourite classes.

She saw Haley and Charlotte sitting at different desks, and smiled at Charlotte before moving over and sitting with Haley. "Hello!" she said brightly, pulling out her books.

Airen walked into the classroom. He looked over at Professor Romain. He seemed to be in a happy mood lately, but that wasn't any of his business. He took a seat next to Charlotte. He took out his textbook and flipped through it idly.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Entering the classroom there seemed to be a change in moods. It was funny, but she liked it. She smiled brightly at her favorite professor, saying a light "mornin'" as she walked towards her seat.

She liked sitting near the front, and as usual saved a seat for Victoria. Seeing Charlotte and Haley she smiled softly knowing them, but not knowing Airen enough, she waved politely.

Opening her book she wondered what they were going to learn today, and seeing the Professors excitement it might be worth wild making it to class on time.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Parker made his way into the room feeling well rested and light hearted. It seemed the atmosphere in the class was also light and it felt like the day was going great so far. Parker had even set aside time to go hangout with Anne once they finished their classes.

He took his seat near his friends and set his bag down, wondering what they'd be learning for their last lesson. He really didn't want the year to end. Even with the ups and downs, he just wished he could stay here over the summer. it would be so much more fun then home.

He gave a small sigh as he took out his book.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Richard Romain Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:57 pm

Richard chuckled a little bit and gave Charlotte a hug back, knowing that she knew of the good news. He didn't say anything however, knowing that he'd have an opportunity to talk to her about it later. Smiling at his class he sat on the edge of his desk facing them,

"Now I know that quite a number of you don't want to be leaving for the summer this year." he shrugged a little bit, "God knows why school and homework is more fun but it's your choice."

He clapped his hands together with a happy grin,

"Now! You all remember how I let you make talking animals in your end of year lesson last year right?" He smirked, "Well we're going to be doing something along the same lines. You're going to be making... your own cat. Not just any cat either. I'm going to get you to make your own tiger cub! It won't grow up though I'm afraid so it'll stay playful and cute forever."

Now here was the really good part, thought Richard as he held up a finger,

"One more thing before we get started..." he smirked, "I've gotten special permission from the ministry for magic. You can use this spell whenever you like, even over the summer."

Moving over to the blackboard, Richard slipped into teacher mode again,

"The incantation is Emotstativ." he turned to the class, "Pronounced Emote-stat-iv. Emote-stat-iv."

Seeing that he was understood he continued,

"The wand movements are as follows..." He waited till he had everyone's attention before showing the movements as he spoke, "One clockwise spin, followed by one anti-clockwise spin, a downward flick and then draw your wand upwards in a straight line."

He nodded to his class,

"Practive the incantation five times, WITHOUT USING THE WAND MOTIONS." he told them, "And then practice the wand movements five times, WITHOUT THE INCANTATION."

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Thu Mar 29, 2012 2:26 am

Haley felt a smile tug her lips when she heard what they were going to do. That would be amazing. Without pulling out her wand, Haley then started working the incantation.

"Emote-stat-iv," she said firmly, "Emote-stat-iv. Emote-stat-iv. Emotstativ. Emotstativ."

When she had trained on the pronounciation, which she found unusually hard, and was pleased with it, she pulled out her wand. She smiled. One clockwise spin. One anti-clockwise spin. A flick down and the wand straight back up again. She did this a fair few times to make sure she had it in.

Then she looked at professor Romain and raised her hand. "Professor, is it so that the cubs will vanish after some time, since we get to use it again? Or are you planning on us making an own pack of them?" she asked with a big smile. She could easily see that happening at Cearphilly castle. She would make the tourists really happy if she showed her face, and even happier if they got to see a tiger cub.

But she could imagine that she didn't want anyone to see the tigers, and that they would be her own little secret. She really loved cats in any shapes and sizes, and she was really looking forward to seeing how the cub would look.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Victoria Rossmund Thu Mar 29, 2012 5:07 am

Victoria ran to the door, trying to catch her breath before entering the class late. As she walked in, seeing other students practice a spell, she walked over to the professor.

"I'm really sorry, Professor. It won't happen again." She had no good excuse except that she got distracted by the wonderful sunshine in a courtyard she passed through. Stupid! she mentally kicked herself.

She took the seat next to Tess and leaned over to her. "Mine filling me in on what we're doing?" She smiled weakly, happy to have a friend.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Tess McCartney Thu Mar 29, 2012 3:45 pm

Tess was barely going to start using the spell, that is until a flustered Victoria entered. She felt bad for her, especially when she missed one of the few times that Professor Romain was in a good mood and cheery.

"We are using the spell Emotstativ. It apparently allows us to form a small cub from this spell that we are able to use during the summer break! The wand movements are more intricate than usual" she whispered " "One clockwise spin, followed by one anti-clockwise spin, a downward flick and then draw your wand upwards in a straight line. But right now we are working on the pronunciation"

Finishing her explanation she took in a breath, perhaps she should have slowed down.

"Repeat after me: Emote-stat-iv. Emote-stat-iv." she moved her lips delicately and slowly to make Victoria hear it clearly.

She did it first and repeated it five times until she got the word pronunciation perfectly and smiled.

"You do it, and then practice the intricate movement five times without using the spell"

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Victoria gave Tess a thankful smile. She was happy she was still able to make it into class. This spell would ensure that her summer would be less boring, and lonely if it came down to it.

Repeating the phrase five times under Tess's direction she took notes for future practice. Then she moved on to the intricate wand movements, being clear on her audiation of the word, and making certain not to say it out loud.

After she had practiced the parts separately a few times she took down more notes and waited for the next part of the lesson.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Charlotte Smith Fri Mar 30, 2012 10:19 pm

Charlotte almost squeaked in happiness when she saw what they were going to be doing this lesson, she lvoed cats and tigers were especially beautiful, and if it would stay a cub forever it was going to be so cute, she hoped that she could keep it, even if Cobie had other ideas.

With a large smile Charlotte listened intently to the incantation and made sure that she wrote down the wand movements so she didn't forget them;

'One clockwise spin, followed by one anti-clockwise spin, a downward flick and then draw your wand upwards in a straight line'

With that Charlotte muttered the incantation to herself; "Emotstativ. Emotstativ. Emotstativ. Emotstativ. Emotstativ!"

When she was happy that she had gotten it right, she moved onto the trickiest part for her and she narrowed her eyes in concentration, very slowly at first completing the movements of her wand so that she was able to do it correctly, one clockwise spin, followed by one anti-clockwise spin, a downward flick and then draw your wand upwards in a straight line. Repeating this five times, Charlotte could do it pretty fast and without many wobbles on the way.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Keiba Namid Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:10 pm

Keiba's tummy fluttered with excitement. She absolutely adored cats, almost more than anything in the world! She couldn't sit still through Professor Romain's instructions and was bursting to get to try it out.

She repeated the word to herself numerous times, having to calm down enough to say it clearly and without shaking. Breathing deeply, she tried one more time and was pleased with the outcome.

Then Keiba moved on to the movements. One spin clockwise, then the other way, flick t down and draw it up. She did that about five times and then wrote it down in her notebook so she wouldn't forget it over the summer. Oh, how she hoped she could do it at the farm!
