Staring Out The Window Empty Staring Out The Window

Post by Parker Emery Thu Mar 29, 2012 6:20 pm

Parker sat in a back compartment. Silent. Still. Staring out the window, but not focused on anything. He wasn't really thinking about anything either. He rested his head against the window, not taking his eyes off whatever he wasn't really looking at.

He winced slightly, his left arm still sore, healing still from falling right on it. Though he didn't recall what injury he actually got. While the hot pain in his leg had died down considerably, it was still wrapped and still sore, sometimes unbearably because of the healing potions he was still taking.

His whole body felt tight, and he felt his stomach growl and wishing he'd eaten breakfast. He was dreading everything. Home, his parents, those damned kids on his street, coming back to school, the station. Even though he knew his parents would be picking him up this time from the station, he did not want to sit in the stifling silence of the long taxi/ferry ride back home.

Every time someone would pass by the door of the compartment, his eyes would dart and his body would tense until he ached. He closed his eyes, letting the humming feeling and sound of the train blur everything else out around him.

Staring Out The Window Empty Re: Staring Out The Window

Post by Guest Thu Mar 29, 2012 7:07 pm

Pyxis huffed as she realised she'd lost Parker in the midst of all of the chaos of packing up. Not only Parker, but Charlotte. Her lips were pursed as she walked through the train, her thoughts elsewhere. She didn't want to go home, she really didn't want to go home, was excited that she'd be going shopping with Char at Diagon Alley, and she'd try to stick to her room most of the time. After the row she had with her parents for visiting Parker, she was in a lot of trouble.

She peered into each compartment as she walked by, until she had finally found him staring silently out of the window. She pushed open the door and frowned at his expression. Dread, and she felt guilty once more. He'd have to face those horrible kids once more, but this time she wouldn't go there. She'd leave him be, not wanting to cause more trouble.

"Hey, Parker." She greeted him as she sat down opposite him and stared at her hands. "Looking forward to going home?" She asked sarcastically.

Haley had her owl under her arm, her suitcase behind her. "We're going home then, Zar," she said softly.

She looked into the compartments, trying to find a vacant one. She felt like being alone at the moment. But then she passed by the compartment that Parker and Pyxis sat in. She smiled softly. She could sit with them, right? She knocked on the compartment door and slipped inside.

"Hey guys. Do you mind if I sit?" she asked them with a kind smile.

She had a feeling she wouldn't be very chatty, she was so nervous about going home, spending the entire summer all on her own. She had no plans whatsoever, and being alone was not a light-point in her future.

Pyxis eyes trailed from the quiet and withdrawn Parker to the compartment door as it slid open, and she smiled when she saw a familiar face - Haley Vilde Smith. She was a nice girl that was in a majority of her classes, and Pyxis glanced at Parker to see if he would be opposed, before she remembered that Parker was friends with Haley, and she almost giggled.

Parker was friends with pretty much every single girl he saw, it was kind of cute though she did think he needed some more male friends if she was being perfectly honest.

"Of course not, have a seat, Haley. Looking forward to going home?" Her tone turned sour on the word 'home'.

Haley smiled at Pyxis. "Thanks," she said and sat down.

She noticed how Pyxis' voice didn't sound too happy when she asked whether or not Haley was looking forward to going home. Her smile fell a bit and she shook her head.

"Not at all. And I have a feeling I'm not the only one," she said, looking knowingly at the two of them.

Pyxis smiled softly in response to Haley and moved over, patting the spot beside her for her to sit down. She noticed that Parker still seemed rather distracted, so she turned her attention to Haley.

Pyxis was surprised at how many students didn't really find returning home all that appealing, though she needn't be. Hogwart's was one of the most wonderful places in the world, with the magnificent feasts, the fun lessons, and all of that other stuff. The grounds were truly magnificent, and she loved everything about Hogwart's. She looked down at her hands and sighed.

"Nope, not at all. My house if filled with boredom and its so cold there. All the time. Whats it about your home that's not appealing?" She asked.

Haley sighed. She found it sad that people that had their families, didn't like going home. Not because she'd recently lost them, lord no. It wasn't because she though they were wasting their family or anything. It was because she found it even sadder to not have a family that made you feel happy and warm than to lose them after years and years of keeping their children warm.

Haley had always loved her family, they had always loved her. And they continously said so to her. But the people who had their family, which wasn't caring for them the way it shoud... That was horrible. Haley's thoughts drifted to Alcyone. She seemed to really have it bad. And Parker... Probably Pyxis too. She honestly didn't know, though, not being familiar with the situation there. But it seemed like Pyxis had a family that cared, though, but that it was more boring than being at Hogwarts. Haley could understand that perfectly well.

When Pyxis asked why Haley didn't want to go home, she hesitated to tell. Not because she didn't want to, but she was afraid that Pyxis would react like most people. She'd probably feel horrible for asking and so on. And Haley didn't want people to feel horrible. Not people she knew and cared about. But in the end, honesty is the best policy.

"My parents died last summer. It'll be pretty lonely, I imagine," she said softly, looking down at her hands, "But it'll be all right. I think. Hard, but all right."

Staring Out The Window Empty Re: Staring Out The Window

Anne was walking up and down the train looking for Parker. She hadn't seen him. She was worried about him. He wasn't reacting well to the whole Hugo thing. She really wished that he hadn't come to the shack. He might be a bit happier.

Anne was hoping that this train ride went by slowly. Most people might see it as going home. She was leaving her home. She didn't want to go to the world where people would always ask what happened to her face. No product, spell, or potion, magic nor muggle would hide the scars on her face. 'Freak' was written across her cheek, along with several other cuts. They like the word mudblood on her arm were all bright red. They looked as though they had just stopped bleeding.

Finally finding whom she was looking for she walked in the compartment. She took the seat next to Parker. She didn't say anything. She knew if he wanted to talk he would. She gave a small wave to Pxyis and Haley.

Seeing another figure come to the door, he looked over and relaxed seeing it was Pyxis. He nodded and muttered a 'hello' back, looking back out the window. When she sarcastically asked if he was looking forward to going home, he sighed. "Not at all..." Parker had a feeling that things would just get worse with those kids. As they got older they could only get more cruel.

Even with Pyxis there, his eyes darted to the door again, relaxing again when he saw it was Haley. When Haley asked if she could come in, Pyxis had already answered, so Parker brought his gaze back to the window.

His listened to the exchange between them about not wanting to go home. He knew he was absolutely dreading it. He nodded sadly when Haley brought up her parents which she had told him about a while back.

Once again his eyes darted over to the door. He rubbed his neck, if he kept doing that, he'd kink his neck sooner or later. Still silent, he looked back out the window, leaning his head against it again.

Staring Out The Window Empty Re: Staring Out The Window

Pyxis gasped as Haley confessed that her parents were dead after a lengthy pause. She felt sad for Haley, and hoped that the girl would be alright. If she had been closer to Haley, she most likely would've offered for her to come stay at her home, but as it was this was among the first interactions she'd ever made with Haley. Besides, her home wasn't that nice anyway, though she hoped it would've been happier with a friend there. She glanced back to Parker, feeling confusion and hurt that he was being so cold, before she looked back at Haley once more.

"That's really horrible, Haley, im so sorry. Where are you living?" She asked curiously. She wondered how her parents had been killed, but she would never ask that.

Pyxis looked up as Anne entered, and she smiled softly at her. Pyxis remembered that Anne's parents were also dead as the Gryffindor sat down, and she leant her head back against the chair.

"Hey Anne," she greeted softly.

Staring Out The Window Empty Re: Staring Out The Window

Post by Jaycie Simple Sun Apr 01, 2012 9:18 pm

Jaycie was still searching for a seat, ten minutes after they'd left the station. Her legs were beginning to ache and she was so happy when she finally saw Anne slip into a compartment up the back of the train. She bit her lip and crossed to the door, peering in. She started when she saw it occupied with three second years, as she thought it had been empty - obviously not.

Jaycie wondered whether or not to go in. They all looked very solemn, and from what she could hear none of them wanted to go home. Unlike herself, who couldn't wait to get back to Mama and Jenna.

She slid in nervously and took a seat across from Anne, giving her a small smile. "H-hello, everybody," she said quietly.

Haley realized that Parker didn't want to speak, but it didn't really matter. She understood that perfectly well. She wasn't feeling very talkative at the moment herself. She gave a small nod at Pyxis when she said that it was horrible.

"I'm staying home with my housekeeper," she said softly.

She was going home to Caerphilly castle. It wasn't very promising to her, but she'd be okay. She hoped so at least. She then gave a small nod at Anne as she walked into the compartment, sitting down.

She felt empty, all of a sudden. Sorrow filled her heart, not reaching the empty spots that her parents had left. But she pushed the tears away, not letting them fill her eyes at all. She looked up again when Jaycie walked into the room.

"Hey Jaycie," she said with a soft smile.

Jaycie smiled shyly at Haley. She remembered her from that time in the common room when she'd spilt the sweets. That brought a true smile to her face and she gave a little wave. "Hey Haley!"

Anne was silent. She was staring at her hands. She nodded as people greeted her. she didn't have anything to say. She hadn't been feeling great. Hugo had drained her. She was really glad she was staying with Professor Slytherin. She didn't like the Idea, of any of the kids in her neighbourhood seeing her like this. They would laugh and call her a freak. She was a freak, even in her world.

She continued to stare at her hands. She felt a few tears leak out of her eyes. She had been crying a lot lately. That's all she did was cry. she didn't sleep, eat, nor speak. She was a walking shell because of the second encounter with Hugo.

Jaycie couldn't hold back her smile when Haley asked her if she was excited about going home. She nodded enthusiastically. "I can't wait to see my sister and mother, I miss them so much," Jay said, hoping desperately in the back of her mind that she wasn't rubbing it in.

There was a soft noise beside her and Jaycie glanced over to see Anne's cheeks glistening with tears. Her eyes widened. "Anne? What's wrong?" She was really concerned about Anne - she hadn't been to the feast and she hadn't heard her talk since class. Jay bit her lip. Along with everyone else, she'd noticed the scars on her cheek and arm, but she didn't know how she got them. She looked at Haley, worry filling her eyes, searching for some sort of explanation. Why was Anne so hurt?
