Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Lucia had placed many dummies around the room, one for each student. She was looking forward to having this lesson, though she was pretty sure it would be very loud. She leaned on her desk, feeling too restless to sit. She had been like that all week. She just couldn't sit still. Probably because she was excited to be here again. She tapped her fingers on her desk, waiting for the class to come so they could start. And she didn't feel very patient.

Haley walked into the DaDA classroom with a smile. "Good morning professor," she said happily and sat down in the front of the class.
She looked at the blackboard, but nothing was written on it, so she wondered what they would be learning today. She took up her books and put her wand on her desk, knowing that they'd do something practical this lesson as the dummies were placed around the entire room. She got curious, and started tapping her foot.

Charlotte hurried into the classroom and she smiled at the Proffessor, it had been a while since she had seen them all after all, and some of them hadnt even come to the ball, like Professor Henley, and she wondered why for a moment, although she quickly banished it from her mind.
Walking over to her usual seat, Charlotte sat down and she got out all of the things that she needed for the lesson today, hoping it would be fun.

Walking into class, she took her seat immediately in her usual spot. She didn't know what it was about, but it was her favorite and she chose to keep it as such. She waved to her other classmates, and took her things out and decided to get lost in her thoughts before class began.
DADA was an interesting class, at least for her. But despite it's spontaneity of sorts, she often times found herself wanting to return to her usual routine during the summer break. She figured it was because of this that she seemed more tired than usual. Her sleeping schedule had been all wonky recently, and she needed to regulate it once more.
She doodled tiredly on a blank sheet of paper, simply lost in thoughts ranging from academic ones to emotional ones.

Parker yawned as he walked into class, adjusting his bag on his shoulder. The bruise that had hardly been visible around his eye during the ball was now completely gone. He smiled a little at the professor, so very excited for this year being able to help her out a little bit.
He saw Haley in the front row of seats and he went to sit beside her, setting his bag on the desk. "Hey Haley." he said with a small smile. he was so glad to be back, he realized, even with the bad things that had happened. There was a real connection to this place and the people here. The summer felt like it lasted forever too, probably because he was so looking forward to the coming school year.
He pulled out his book from his bag and then set his bag on the floor by his feet.

Airen walked into the classroom with a slight smile to his face. He had fun at the ball. He looked around and saw Charlotte. He smiled kindly at her and took a seat next to her. He got out his ink, parchment, and quill. He looked up at the professor and smiled.
"Good morning, Professor," he greeted.

Pyxis was in a brilliant mood as she skipped along to the third floor, where her Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom was. She ignored the weird looks she got from other students as she hummed to herself. Her pace slowed to a walk but she continued to smile happily as she entered the classroom and saw both Haley and Parker.
She walked over to them and sat down next to Parker, a friendly wave being sent to Haley. She pulled out her DADA book and placed it on her desk, before she turned to inspect Parker. The bruise around his eye was almost gone, much to her relief. "You ever going to tell me how you got that? Did one of those kids punch you?" She asked in a bewildered tone. Those bullies made her incredibly angry, but she was able to squash that anger with her cheery mood.

Parker glanced back when he heard the door open and saw Pyxis, who seemed to be in an incredibly good mood. He smiled at her as she sat beside him. "Hi Pyxis." he said to her.
His smile dropped a little when she had asked when he'd explain. He shrugged, looking down at his book. "Er...yeah, they did. But I'll tell you in the common room tonight..." He was glad she wasn't freaking out about it. And he would tell her but the time just hadn't arisen. But after classes and dinner tonight while they were doing their work seemed like a good time. She might be proud that he actually stood up for himself. He knew that despite the fact that he had gotten beat up, he felt good for having fought back this time.
He gave her a small smile, thankful she'd be patient this time and that she was in such a good mood. A nice Pyxis was always much better then an upset one.

Zara slowly made her way into the classroom. She noticed Haley and went over to sit next to her. Sitting down, she gave a little wave to her friend, before noticing the dummies set up around the room. A devilish grin grew on Zara's face. I wonder what this means.

Victoria hurried to class, not wanting to be late. She really enjoyed this class and it was always entertaining. She grabbed a seat next to Tess.
Leaning over she took a look at what Tess was doodling. She couldn't quite make it out but could see Tess's eyes drooping a little. She pinched her lightly on the forearm, trying to wake her up.
"Come on, girl. Can't fall asleep on the first day, can we?" Victoria's smiled faded a little. "Are you not sleeping well?"

Her doodling was soon distracted as she felt herself being pinched. She grumbled a curse word unintelligibly and turned to face the person who pinched her glaring, that is until she saw Victoria. Her glare immediately disappeared and she looked at her huffing.
"Thanks" she said sarcastically, but no hint of malice.

Re: Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Lucia rose when the class was due to begin. She smiled at the students. "Welcome to a new year. I hope you'll learn as much, if not more, of defensive and offensive spells this year as last year. Today, we're gonna learnt the spell 'Bombarda'. Can anyone tell me what kind of spell that is?" Lucia asked the class, looking around at all the students.
Re: Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Haley smiled at Pyxis and Zara as they joined her and Parker, and then returned her attention back to the front as professor Henley started speaking.
Haley rose her hand instantly, and smiled at the professor. "The spell is a Blasting Curse, an explosive curse. Whatever it hits blasts into a million pieces," she said with a steady tone.

Re: Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Lucia smiled at Haley. "Very good, Ms. Smith, five points to Hufflepuff, though the blast won't necessarily blast what it hits into pieces, unless it's Bombarda Maxima, a spell we might come back to in a few years. But Bombarda is a blasting spell, but in a minor way. These dummies placed around the room are going to be blasted, definitely, which is why we're not practicing on classmates," Lucia said with a grin.
She then looked at them. "But the 'Bombarda' spell can also be used as a small explosion to blast open doors and the likes. Now, everyone, the spell is pronounced Bom-BAR-dah, all right? And the handmovement is a horizontal line to the right, then a strong and fierce flick downwards," she said, using her hand to show the movement.
"Practice it until you think you've got it, but do not say the pronunciation together with the movement before you're in front of a dummy. When you're secure you got it and can add it together, walk over to a dummy and try it. There are three dummies for each of you. I think you'll get around five attacks on each dummy before it is destroyed," Lucia said calmly.
"Begin."
(OOC: okay, so I realize you guys didn't get much of a chance to reply to the question, but I have to get this class going. So, yeah. I'll give housepoints for those who attacks!! )

Re: Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Tess blinked surprised at the speed at which the question was answered, she barely had time to even grasp it let alone raise her hand. She mentally shrugged, no harm done, but seeing that the spell seemed pretty easy itself, messy...but easy enough, she got up and walked towards one of the dummies.
She moved her wand horizontally towards the right and with a graceful but quick flick downwards she clearly said the spell.
"Bombarda!"
She winced as the first blow hit the dummy and it seemed to get a few rips. She tried once more and it was even more damaged. She tried a third, then fourth and surprisingly enough it was shredded in the fifth. Seemed the professor was right.

Re: Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Haley walked over to the dummie and took out her wand after having practiced the spell and the movement. She then pointed at the doll and took the horizontal line, and the sharp flick, saying: "Bombarda!"
The doll lost its head and she started aiming for the arms, exploding off limb by limb, until all that was left were the toes. Six tries and it was gone. She smirked slightly to herself. She liked this spell. It was effective, and definitely an offense attack that would do a lot of harm. She walked back to the desk as she was done now.

Re: Third years, first lesson; Bombarda
Lucia clapped her hands together, making everyone return their attention to her. "Well, that was a lack of a few students. I expect that you will try harder next time, otherwise I might not be quite so kind as to just let it pass me by," she said warningly.
"As for you two," she said, pointing at Tess and Haley, "Five points each. Well done to both of you."
She turned to the class. "Those who didn't do the spell are expected to hand in a 70 word long paper on the bombarda spell and what the stronger version of this spell is called. Those who did it, only 50 words," Lucia said calmly, "Class dismissed."
