Lesson One - First Years Empty Lesson One - First Years

Post by Natasha Willow Tue Apr 17, 2012 10:46 am

Natasha made one last round of the Augureys. She wanted to make sure they were all fed and happy for the first years. Holding out the buckets with bugs to them, she received a happy squawk from Jensen, the last bird in the row. He was her own personal Augurey, being a gift from her mother a few years ago.

When she was satisfied that they were all tethered securely to their respective posts, she stood by, waiting for the students to arrive. The class list was small, but then first years rarely took an interest in this course.

Jensen reached out and started picking at Natasha's hair. "Stop it, you." She smiled at him. He let out a quiet cry that tugged at her heart. "I know, darling. And thank you." She nuzzled him and he returned the gesture, earning an extra helping of bugs.

Lesson One - First Years Empty Re: Lesson One - First Years

Dahlia proudly managed to find her first class on time, seeing that she was the first student there. I'm not surprised. She walked up to the professor and smiled innocently.

She noticed a row of bird-like creatures next to the professor. They were beautiful. She didn't want to seem like she was actually interested in class, that was for smarty pants. But she had to ask about them. "Um, excuse me, professor. Could you tell me what these are?" she asked, gesturing at the birds.

Carly hurried to her class, smiling when she realised she wouldnt be late.

She saw two other pupils and the proffessor waiting and went to stand with them. She was quiet as she saw the beautiful birds, and just stood there admirering them whilst waiting for the class to begin.

Lesson One - First Years Empty Re: Lesson One - First Years

Post by Natasha Willow Mon Apr 23, 2012 3:13 pm

Natasha was excited to meet her first years. They would be unaccustomed to another teacher and, therefore, more open to her instruction.

Smiling she approached the three girls. "Good day, ladies. I hope it wasn't too hard to find this class. My name is Natasha Willow and I will be teaching this class until future notice."

She led them over to the four Augureys. It was convenient that she had brought the right amount as the Hufflepuff was a late addition.

"I would like to start of your Care of Magical Creatures experience with this magnificent bird. Augureys have been slandered throughout history, people believing that they foretold death." She couldn't help a little smirk at the way some people saw death in almost anything. "It was later found that their cries simply foretold rain."

She picked up some spare buckets of bugs, each with a lid on it so they wouldn't randomly crawl about, and handed one to each girl. "These creatures are very handy as household pets, for obvious reasons. My own Jensen here was a gift, and has become a close friend. For today you will just take time feeding one of them and getting used to bonding with an animal. Homework for next lesson will be 50 words on your experience with your Augurey and any other information on them you would like to add."

Natasha believed in learning through experience and that was one of the best things about getting to teach this class.

(OOC: Sorry for the late posting, it's been a crazy week. I will not end the class until late Monday night, so feel free to post to your hearts content Smile )

Carly listened carefully as the teacher explained what they were doing in the class, she was glad that her being a bit late to subject wasnt an inconvenience.

When she heard that Augureys could predict the rain, she smiled at that that could be handy she thought.

She was excited when she heard that they would be feeding and bonding with their own bird, Carly always did like hands on classes the best. Cautiously, Carly movedd towards a bird so as not to startle it.
