Lesson Two - Second Years Empty Lesson Two - Second Years

Post by Briony Romain Mon Apr 30, 2012 6:12 pm

Briony had been pleased last lesson with the amount of people that she had signing up for the classes after class time in order to make their duelling skills even better and sharper, although she was certain that she could get more students to join if she opened the club up to other years.

So she made a note to leave the parchement on her desk at the end of the lesson for students who wanted to sign up.

Sitting at her desk she sighed lightly, she wasn't going to be able to do much this lesson because of the rather large baby bump that she was now sporting, and she hoped that she would be able to make it through this bout of teaching without anything happening.

Opening the door to her classroom, Briony sat behind her desk and waited for her students to arrive.

Sam sighed as she walked to class, she had been studying for every lesson since classes had started she didn't know if she'd be able to study all night for much longer she sighed and walked into class.

Sam gave Professor Romain and nod and she sat in the very back, Sam sighed she knew a lot of people could tell she, Sam looked different which Sam kinda hated.

Sam noticed professor Romain was looking rather... Pregnant. Sam decided she wasn't going to say anything she sighed and waited for the rest of the class to show up.

Briony looked out over her classroom at the one student who had bothered to show up. She gritted her teeth in frustration but at the same time she knew she couldn't get too worked up otherwise it might trigger another one of those Merlin-damned contractions,

"Miss Hawthorn, seeing as you're the only student who bothered to turn up, it seems I will be teaching you exclusively today." she sighed a little bit, "What was the spell that we learn last lesson Miss Hawthorn? And yes, I am testing your recollection."

Xander walked to Dueling in a class. He just couldn't get excited about classes lately. It wasn't that he had terrible things going on in his life, he really didn't. But so many students around him were depressed and sad. It was getting to him.

If he recalled correctly, this wasn't his first tardy to the Headmistress's class. Deciding to put the decision in her hands whether or not he could attend the class, Xander simply knocked on the door.

He knew he needed to learn as much about defending himself as possible, but he understood that he may have to pay for his tardiness.

Sam nodded she couldn't believe no one showed up to this class, Sam blinked and thought for a second than she remembered.

" We learned the spell 'Serepent Sortia' the spell that conjures snakes" Sam said than she heard a knock on the door she looked toward the door than back at the professor 'Now they want to show up to class, late' Sam thought she shook her head and wondered what professor Romain would do.

Briony raised an eyebrow as the boy turned up to class late, it was something that made her so agrrivated, this was not the first time that he had come late to her lesson anyway. If she wasn't pregnant she would have done something completely different to what she had decided his punishment was.

"Hall. Detention with me. Tonight. If you're late tonight your house will have ALL it's points deducted, and you will be named as the person it's because of in the next Feast." she glowered.

Smiling lightly at Sam Briony nodded her head; "Yes of course you are correct, 5 points to Gryffindor. Today we will be learning the counter spell; 'Vipera Evanesca.'"

Taking out her wand, Briony showed the students the correct movements, and then repeated the pronuciation of the spell. Gesturing at the pair Briony sighed;

"Pair up, one of you cast the spell to conjure the snake, the other the spell to banish it."

Sam smiled inwardly when she heard she had gotten the answer right, than she turned toward Xander and sighed.

Sam was never late, she didn't know why Sam just wasn't she stood up and walked toward Xander, she had her wand out and sighed she didn't know if he wanted her to cast the snake or not she sighed.

Sam hoped she wouldn't forget the counter spell, and if she did she knew she was going to get in so much trouble.

Xander was thankful that he was able to learn this spell. What good was Serpensortia without the counter-spell?

"Certainly, Headmistress," he said to her giving him detention. He deserved it.

Taking his place across from Sam he didn't let any emotions show on his face. For a second he remembered why Slytherins generally didn't like Gryffindors.

"Since you were the one on time, feel free to do the new spell, I'll practice the old."

He took up a dueling stance and firmly said, "Serpensortia." A black cobra shot out of his wand and slithered towards Sam.

Sam's face was emotionless when she saw the snake she pointed her wand at the snake and sighed "Vipera Evanesca" Sam said calmly she watched as the snake disappeared and she looked at Xander and she remembered why Gryffindors disliked Slytherin's, yet Sam had a few Slytheirn friends.

Sam than looked at Professor Romain and wondered what she was going to say, Sam shrugged inwardly and than turned toward Xander.
