Lesson Two - Second Years Empty Lesson Two - Second Years

Post by Raven 'The Sweeney' Drake Mon Apr 30, 2012 6:23 pm

Raven walked into her classroom, she had not been impressed when she had returned to the Irrenhaus Verlassen a few nights ago to see that it had been disturbed by somebody, she didn't know who that somebody might be, but she had a very good idea that they had let one of the experiments loose and were now probably dead or dying somewhere.

On the other hand, something very good had happened to her, and she was sure that it would mean more time she could spend to herself, rather than having to deal with annoying fools and going on too many contracts herself.

Opening the door to her classroom and placing Steve as the doorstop again she was sure that she was in for a mixed lesson today, she just hoped that everyone managed to turn up. It wasn't much to ask.

Alex sighed quietly as she walked to potions, this was one of Alex's favorite lessons and she couldn't help but wonder what potion they were going to brew, Alex walked inside and noticed the doorstop Aled blinked and quickly looked away she gave 'The Sweeney' a nod and she walked to her desk she sat down and stared at her desk.

Alex wondered what they'd learn this lesson Alex couldn't help but wonder which potion they were going to brew, Alex sighed quietly and waited for the class to show up.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty potions

Post by Annika Bauermeister Wed May 02, 2012 5:32 pm

Walking up to potions, Annika noticed Steve was in his usual place holding the door for her. "Thanks Steve," she whispered as she entered the room. It appeared that Alexandra was the only other student there so far. She went to her seat, took out a piece of parchment her quill and ink and began a letter home, "Liebe Papa, Mama and meine familie, School is fun this year. I am waiting for potions to start. Did really good last.." She looked up slightly and noticed it was about time for class to start and quickly slipped her stuff into her bag. She promised herself she'd finish tonight after supper. Unless of course she had a lot of homework.

Katrina walked into Potions class ready to get it done and over with. She really didn't care if she was late for class or not.

She walked into class and noticed that once again Hugo was not in the class, she wondered if he was going to blow off all of his classes this year or what.

Kat threw herself into a chair and waited for the class to start.

Dimitrius walked into class and smiled a little bit to himself. Just like Psychology, Potions also interested him. Then again, most things interested him when it dealt with his magic. He sat down in a random seat, he didn't really pay attention where, and nodded to the teacher. He faintly wondered what this lesson would be about.

As an after thought, he shrugged his satchel off his shoulder and placed it down by his feet. Didn't need it getting in the way after all.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Second Years

Post by Raven 'The Sweeney' Drake Thu May 03, 2012 9:59 pm

Raven looked over her class with barely disguised annoyance as she flicked one of her razors, Mortimer, open and closed repeatedly. She wasn't really annoyed at them but it didn't mean that she couldn't take it out on them now did it? She tapped her wand to the blackboard and the instructions appeared on the board,

"You will need a partner for this potion. This potion is meant to give someone a burst of energy." she smirked wickedly, "If you do not have a partner your potion will explode in your face, too much energy and all that. Have fun little kiddies."

Recipe;
1. Heat cauldron to 150
2. Add two pints of water, one pint of bog water and two drops of nymph tears
3. Stir thoroughly in a clockwise direction for five minutes
4. Drop 2 ounces of dried nutmeg into the mixture while continuing to stir
5. Squeeze in roughly two tablespoons of oleander seed oil
6. Stir clockwise with two hands while partner taps the cauldron in slow beats
7. Stop stirring and tapping when the potion turns pink.

Note - Failure to stop when the potion turns pink will cause the mixture to bubble violently before exploding.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty potions lesson 2

Post by Annika Bauermeister Fri May 04, 2012 5:58 am

Nervously Annika approached Alexandra. She was the only one in class that she knew and they were in the same house. Hoping that she wasn't still harboring any anger toward her she smiled.

"Alex, you are really good at potions, and I was wondering if we could work together. I know I'm not your favorite person, but I think we could make a good team for this class. That is if you are willing to work with me. I am sorry we got of too a rough start. Can we make a fresh beginning and work together?"

Turning red in the face, Annika began copying the recipe from the board as she waited nervously for an reply. She really hoped that Alex would accept her offer, it would be good to work with someone from her house.

Alex looked and saw Annika came over to her, Alex sighed inwardly and she nodded " Sure, I'll do the difficult things and you can do the rest" Alex said with a small nod she could easily hear her mothers voice telling her if she told Annika no that she'd be in very deep trouble.

Alex sighed and looked at the ingredents " I've got all the ingredents, and all you have to do is the easy stuff and I'll do the difficult stuff" Alex said with a small smile Alex wanted to try to ease the tension between them she sighed and pulled her hair up in a quick ponytail.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty potions lesson two

Post by Annika Bauermeister Fri May 04, 2012 5:11 pm

Annika hung her head and quietly whispered, "Sure. what ever you say. What 'easy' stuff do you want me to do?" She was already beginning to regret asking Alexandra to be her partner. She might have had better luck if the Sweeney had picked a partner for her. Embarassed

She had no idea what she had done to make everyone dislike her so, all she'd ever done is want to get along and have fun learning. The classes were wonderful and and for the most part the professors were interesting and made learning come easy for her. But it seemed the students weren't nearly as friendly as the muggle kids at home in Butzweiler. Some days she really wished she hadn't had to leave there just to learn. Crying or Very sad

Silently she watched as Alexandra set things out and get ready to start the potion.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Second Years

Post by Guest Fri May 04, 2012 5:23 pm

Alex sighed and shook her head " When I mean easy, I mean you do the bottom half of the list and I'll do the top" Alex said with a smile she pointed at the list and smiled " I'll do the first half and you can do the second" she said while pointing at the list.

Alex sighed quietly and she started to make the potion, well half of it anyway. Alex turned the cauldron on to a 150 than she added two pints of water and one pint of bog water and than two drops of nymph tears.

Alex than stirred the potion Throughly in a clockwise direction for five minutes, when the five minutes were up she dropped 2 ounces Of dried nutmeg into the mixture while continuing to stir.

Alex sighed and waited for Annika to do the rest and Alex watched her carefully hoping the potion didn't explode.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty potions lesson two

Post by Annika Bauermeister Sat May 05, 2012 8:21 am

Annika stirred the potion watching it slowly changing colors. As soon as it looked pink enough she quickly stopped. She just hoped it was pink enough. Looking from Alexandra to the Sweeney to see if she had done it right.

The last class had gone so well, she was almost sure that this would work too, but if not the tension would start or worsen between the two girls. That was something she definitely didn't want. Yeva still hadn't made it to class and that had been on her mind for two weeks and Alex was really the only other girl she even remembered the name of.

"Guess that's what happens when you aren't used to having so many people around you. I feel so out of my comfort zone. But it is easier than last year." With out realizing it, the last thoughts slipped out as a whisper.

Alex watched as Annika did the last bit of the potion, she smiled inwardly as the potion turned pink.

" You did it right" Alex whispered with a small smile, Alex hoped the tension would go away soon Alex sighed and wondered what the Sweeney would say she blinked and glanced at the potion, Alex hoped they did a good job but the doubt in the back of her head kept telling her she got it wrong, Alex sighed.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty potions lesson two

Post by Annika Bauermeister Mon May 07, 2012 3:58 pm

"I didn't do much, it was mostly you. You're great at potions, I've just been lucky. I do alot better in charms," Annika whispered hoping the professor didn't hear. the last time they go caught talking they were both punished. She did not want a repeat of that day ever again.

While they were waiting to be graded on their potion, Annika began to gather the items on the table and put them away then wiped up what little had splashed out of the cauldron while she was stirring. Things were definately looking up and she had another good thing to add to letter tonight.

she caught the slight smile on Alex face and beamed back at her. Maybe things there would be better too.

Lesson Two - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Second Years

Post by Guest Mon May 07, 2012 4:37 pm

Katrina could not believe this, she had to have a partner to do the potion and the only possibility in the classroom was Dimi, so she went and gathered up all the ingredients and headed over to the table that Dimi was sitting at and place the things on the table.

"Well it looks like if we want to get this potion done we will have to do it together.' Kat threw the ingredients on the table.

"I will get everything prepped if you want to start the cauldron."

Kat knew she was sounding a little bossy, but at this point she didn't care, she wanted to get the potion done and the only way she could do it was with him.
