Lesson Two - Third Years
Natasha was slightly nervous for this lesson. She found the Jarvey a fascinating and useful creature to have, but hoped that it's tendency to break into fits of bad language wouldn't be too shocking to her third years. She had cast a spell on it to modify it's specific speech, cleaning it up slightly.
She had only brought one this time, knowing that the noise of more than that would be quite distracting.
"Let me out of here, you shriveled up snivel bat!!" The little bugger yelled from his cage. Natasha rolled her eyes and hoped the students would arrive soon.

Re: Lesson Two - Third Years
As Parker walked down the hill to class, he could hear a commotion. He sped up his pace, curious as to what was going on. He hoped nothing bad was happening. As he came closer though the noise was coming from a cage. A caged up creature to be exact. ...What on earth?
He tilted his head to the side slightly, trying to get a better look as he approached the teacher and the creature. It was spouting off insults and he looked to the professor. "What is this?" he asked, not having a clue. He'd never heard anything like it before.

Re: Lesson Two - Third Years
Natasha understood that it was hard for students to get back in the swing of things, what with rumors she had heard of more fighting between the schools. In light of that, she decided to be more informal in her class this time, not taking off points for the students who didn't arrive quite on time. She would just reward those that showed up.
And since Mr. Emery was the first to arrive she figured she'd start the lesson. "This creature, Mr. Emery, is a Jarvey. Today will mostly be about observing them. They are extremely useful creatures if you have a Gnome infestation in your garden."
The ferret-looking Jarvey seemed to give up on the battling the cage and started cleaning his coat. "Bleeding wambat-brained snuffle bork!!! Feed me now." He seemed to have a very thick Irish accent, making it hard to understand him.
Smiling at Mr. Emery, Natasha handed him a pair of plastic gloves and a bucket of rat meat. "He may not like this as much as Gnome, but rat will work just as well. Feel free to feed him."

Re: Lesson Two - Third Years
Parker couldn't takes his eyes off the strange ferret-looking creature as the professor explained to him just what it was. A jarvey? He then looked at her. "Gnome infestation? They're a pest?" That was...interesting to think of. He always thought of them as just those weird little statue things some of his neighbors put in their yards, but apparently not. He found himself wondering just what an infestation looked like...
As the jarvey began cleaning itself continuing to curse, Parker couldn't help but smile and then laugh a little bit. It sounded just like one of old his neighbors that had passed two summers back. While he was mumbly, and the accent was thick, he was used to it enough back at home and could understand him. He hoped he'd get to feed it, it would certainly be interesting.
He looked at the professor again as she went to go grab something and his hopes were going to be fulfilled. He glanced back at his, wondering if it had especially sharp claws or teeth for which the gloves were needed. When she said he can feel free to feed it, Parker went to get the gloves and put them on. He hesitated over the bucket of meat, and grabbed a top piece pinched between two fingers. He turned back to the cage, holding up the meat as he approached the cage. "Do I just feed it between the bars?" He asked.

Re: Lesson Two - Third Years
Natasha was honestly surprised at Mr. Emery's question. She hadn't even questioned if he would know about Gnomes. "I'm sorry about that. Yes, Gnomes are quite the pest. If you know muggle animals at all, they are like moles. They burrow under ground and disturb plants, particularly gardens."
Happy that a student was finally taking an interest in learning about these creatures, she was glad to answer any questions.
"Yes, Mr. Emery. Unfortunately he may run off if we let him out. Don't worry about him biting though. I've had enough interactions with him for him to know biting won't get him more food."
He'd taken a good swipe at her the first time she fed him last week. She still had the healing pink scrapes on her forearm from it. Just add one more. She smiled at the thought. Every profession had it's down sides, but scars was something she could deal with.

Re: Lesson Two - Third Years
Airen walked to the CoMC lesson. He felt as if he was late, but it still felt strange. He wasn't normally one to be late. He looked up from studying the ground to look at the class area. He noticed that only Parker was present. He found it odd that he was the only one there, and yet, the class had started.
He managed to get there as the lesson started. Airen walked up to a tree and leaned on it while he listened to the professor's instructions.
"Sorry I'm late, Professor," he said after she had finished talking to Parker.

"No worries, Mr. Auditoren. We are being a little less formal today." Natasha smiled at him. Punctuality was an important life lesson, but she did not want to punish her students if they chose to come to class, late or not. In the future though, if it kept up, she may have to be less lenient.
She handed him a similar bucket to Mr. Emery's. "Feel free to interact with the Jarvey. As I told Mr. Emery, he won't bite." She was happy that he had been present for her explanation of the animal, though she was willing to explain it all again.
While the two boys were occupied, she took the time to check on Jensen, her Augurey, who had perched near the door to her hut. She could still hear the Jarvey wailing away. "Finally! Now give me that blasted food before I gnaw my bloody leg off, you blathering-tonged brussel bats!"
Natasha just shoot her head.

Parker nodded, interesting in what she was telling him about the gnomes. When she compared them to moles he had a look of understanding. "Ooh, okay. I see, like moles." he said aloud to himself.
He was glad to know that the Jarvey wouldn't bite, but it would have been cool to actually be able to take it out of the cage. He looked over as Airen approached. He smiled and waved a little.
He then looked to the professor again, gladly taking the bucket from her. He got closer to the cage, taking in his gloved hand one of the pieces of rat meat. The jarvey yelled again and Parker laughed a little again as he held it up to the cage and between the bars.
