A Fear Of Falling (Parks & Pyx)
Life back at school had been rather boring, if Pyxis was being quite honest. Everything was the same, so why did she feel as if it was different? It was a yawn of exhaustion that fell from her lips as she wandered the halls aimlessly in search of something that she wasn't sure exactly was. Her feet brought her to spiralling staircases that she followed upwards simply out of a curiousity to see where they would end. They seemed to go on forever, her footfalls echoing around her and bouncing off the walls it seemed. The way was lit by a few torches here and there, but other than that Pyxis struggled to see her on feet. "I'd never sing of love, if it does not exist," sung Pyxis to herself, her voice echoing around her accompanied with the sounds of her footsteps. A strange harmony. "But darling, you are the only exception, you, are, the only exception," she persisted, continuing her song as she reached the end of the steps.
She seemed to be in some sort of prison tower, but the jail door was wide open and she moved along outside to the small ledge. She peered over it slightly fearfully as there was no barrier to stop her from falling should she tip too far. An image of someone coming up behind her and pushing her flashed through her mind, and she suddenly felt very dizzy. She sank down to the floor and raked her hands through her hair. Bile rose in her throat and she had to lay down to keep from throwing up. "I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up, leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream," she sung softly to try and calm herself.

Parker just plain didn't feel well. He couldn't sleep, he couldn't eat, he constantly felt nauseated. He refused to go to professor Henley for it too...He just needed to be alone. To think, ponder, and wallow. His whole idea of existence and life was so jumbled up and honestly just made everything ache. This whole thing with Anne....he didn't even know how to process it. he couldn't handle it and had cut off from everyone, didn't talk to anyone. Not even Pyxis as he'd holed himself up in his room almost all the time.
At this point he was utterly sick of his room and needed someplace else to think. When he'd finally manage to get Damien distracted with something else, Parker had snuck off. In the past going up to the towers and being able to look over everything helped him, so he made his way up to where he knew no one would be to do just that. Walking in he'd gone to the window, leaning over and looking down at the ground. He shivered and then took a few steps back. He just sat against one of the darkened walls silently, his arms wrapped around his legs.
He then heard faint foot steps and he looked up from his knees to the door, then able to hear faint singing. He wondered who it was...he didn't know anyone that sang. He sat there completely silent and still in that darkened corner as the person walked in. Illuminated by the natural light of the window he saw that it was Pyxis?? what was she doing here? He frowned, wanting to badly to reach out and talk to her. But he couldn't he knew that the moment he opened his mouth to try to talk he'd probably end up bursting into tears. But he was thirteen...that wasn't a good thing for him to do anymore. He watched sadly as she slid down the wall to the floor and he strained his ears to try to listen to the soft words she sang.

Pyxis had failed to notice the person in the corner of the room as she entered, too curious with the open jail door. She now regretted stepping outside as she felt like throwing up. She couldn't even sing anymore as she focused on deep breathing. After she'd calmed down, she sat up and stared out at the lake. She didn't feel so dizzy sitting, as she knew that she couldn't so easily fall off the edge. She slid back to the doorway just to be even safer and watched as the sun very slowly inched its way downwards in the sky. A soft breeze ruffled her hair and swept it off of her shoulders, meaning she had to brush it back into place.
She finished singing her song in a louder voice now, happy with the view below her. "Oh and im, on, my way to believing," she finished. She didn't think she had a bad voice, that it was no where near as beautiful as most peoples. It was just average, pleasant to listen to but nothing attention-grabbing. That was just Pyxis in general, she didn't think herself very interesting. The only part of her that was interesting was her powers, and they weren't even that amazing. That, and her constant mood swings. She redirected her thoughts to happier things, but they kept falling back to Parker.
Stupid idiot had decided he wouldn't talk to her anymore. He was her only friend as for some reason, her and Charlotte had drifted apart. She felt sad whenever she thought about it, and now she had Parker ditching her as well. "Stupid Parker," she said to the silence around her, un-knowing of the company she kept. "Stupid Charlotte, stupid parents, stupid everything," she sighed heavily. "No one cares about me, im just that freaking girl in the background who is always angry or sad." She huffed and picked up a loose stone, tossing it across to the courtyards of Hogwarts.

Parker rested his chin on his knees, his arms still wrapped around his legs. He closed his eyes as he listened to her singing for a few moments. He didn't know she could sing, and it was a pleasant surprise to him. It was simple and clear, and while it seemed somewhat unlike what he was used to of Pyxis, it fit her.
He stopped and he opened his eyes and let out of soft sigh. His head rose slightly when he heard her speak. He furrowed his eyebrows a bit. Stupid him, yep. He'd been neglecting her lately. She didn't deserve it. All he wanted was to just sit and talk with her and they could both vent and just enjoy the others company, and he'd been stupid to think he needed alone time.
He frown set when she said no one cared about her. He wanted to call out, tell her it wasn't true. But had a feeling that him startling her like that and her realizing he'd been sitting there the whole time wouldn't bode well for him. Maybe if he acted like he just walked up.... he sat there for a few moments longer though and watched her throw the stone. As she did, he stood up where he was, trying not to make much noise

Re: A Fear Of Falling (Parks & Pyx)
Pyxis was about to full on burst into tears from her pent up anger, confusion, frustration and feelings of neglect when she felt a presence behind her. She stiffened and focused on the ball of energy within her. She formed it into a larger ball, spinning until it sent a rush of heat flooding through her and focused in her hands. The heat did not bother her as it would other people, for it was a part of her. She made a conscious effort to pretend she didn't know someone was there as she reached out and grabbed another stone in her scalding hand. She had to throw it quickly before smoke began to spiral from the rock due to the heat of her hand.
It went flying down into the courtyards like the other one, narrowly missing a first year who looked around wildly. She grinned at that and picked up another stone, throwing it at the student again but making sure that it would miss. The student ran away from the courtyard full pelt, making Pyxis laugh to herself. First years. She then felt the presence move behind her and she bit her lip, bringing the heat that had faded back into her hands.
She then leapt up and whipped around bringing a ring of fire around her as she went. She feared that whoever it was might push her off and the fire would keep them at bay. Silly fears, really, but she still feared them. The fire vanished at her body returned to normal temperature as she saw it was just Parker. She crossed her arms and fixed him with an icy glare as her arms were crossed. She dearly hoped he'd just arrived, as it would be embarrassing if he heard what she'd said. Not only that, but she'd probably strangle him for eavesdropping. "Oh. It's you." She huffed.
