Peace Talks (Invite only)
Leon had had his office rearranged so that the room was entirely bare of all of it's old furnature. After all he didn't want any British people getting their hands on any important documents or the like. Instead of his desk and warm and welcoming sofas and chairs, the room was filled with only a single table.
An exceedingly long table, spreading from one side of the room clear across to the other. There were chairs bunched at both ends of the table. He was sat in the centre most chair at one end, waiting for the British diplomats to be admitted as well as for his own countrymen to arrive.

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
The Doctor had received the owl and all of the neccessary reading about the Peace Talks a few days ago but now was the day of the show, time to see if the differences between their two countries could be resolved through words instead of spells. As a lover, not a fighter, The Doctor seriously hoped that they could be.
Nodding curtly to Leon Becker, the Got Des Assistenten, he sat down by the head of the table, directly to Leon's right. Feeling a little bit nervous, he fiddled idly with a ring on his right hand.

Briony had thought that this meeting could come at no worse time for her, after all having just given birth to her child she was in no fit state to be running around in political meetings, but the heads of the Magical Schools were summoned, so she needed to go.
Sighing lightly, she couldn't believe she was exposing herself enough to travel to Germany, but it couldn't be helped, and she was even more on edge than usual.
Moving into the Ministry she ignored the glares from the workers and walked proudly up to the meeting room, her corset dress billowing out behind her as she walked, reaching the room she opened the door, surveying the men with cool eyes.
Sitting down at the opposite end of the table, Briony crossed her arms, and waited for the Minister of Magic to arrive.

It was finally occurring. Adele felt her stomach turn in nervousness as her heels clicked down the hallway. Her instincts were on high as she had to deal with the idea of being a big target in Germany, but she did what she had to for her country and the people she was responsible for. Once she reached the door, pushed the door opened and her nervousness dissipated as a blank expression filled it.
She saw the Got Des Assistenten and the Headmaster of Durmstrang already there and nodded their direction, being polite after all. She then noticed Briony Romain and a small smiled hit her face. Now it seemed it was two women negotiating with two men, at least for now. She sat down at the end of the table and looked at them silently waiting for it to begin.

Ayna had just arrived at her little headquaters, she called it hers, it was not. And made her way towards the area, opening the door. She saw a few people, and slowly made her way next to Leon, as she sat down on his left side, her wand was in her leg holster as she was wearing a dress, and heels. Not a good outfit for Meeting but It will do. She hated coming to this meetings but someone had to.

Dani sighed as she walked toward the meeting she really didn't want to be there but she sighed and walked toward the office.
Dani walked inside and blinked slightly she looked around and noticed Briony was there she gave everyone there a nod and she walked toward the minister and she sat down next to her and swallowed a sigh.

Leon watched as other important figures walked into the meeting room. They were all key players, whether in education or the ministry they served, and he had no doubt that everyone had egos to match. You didn't get to a high level with confidence bordering on arrogance in his experience. He nodded a greeting to The Doctor, with a half smile, gave Ayna a nod and barely recognized the British delegation's arrival.
Leon Becker was something of a patriot. He loved his country more than most things in his life and sitting across a table from his country's enemies was enough to make his blood boil. Reigning in his temper, Leon spoke,
"Good evening everyone." he greeted the room, "Today we come together to discuss the possibility of peace between our two nations. I would like to open the floor up to hear what the people here would like to achieve from this meeting."
Glaring down the table at Adele, Leon spoke coldly,
"I wish for the removal of all British Aurors from my country." he demanded frostily, "And reparations for my country equal to one billion galleons."
(One Billion Galleons is equal to = £4,979,999,928 or $8,015,309,884)

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Briony twitched lightly, she was beginning to already dislike the man in front of her posing to be the leader of Germany, the Doctor she had some respect for, she had faced him in battle and that was what she admired about him.
If there was any adimiration to be had, or anybody to lead the discussion, Briony would only listen to the Doctor, this man, she had no knowledge of, and he would not tell her what to do.
Smirking a little Briony held up a peice of paper and slid it back to the man, her eyebrows raised as if daring him to dispute what was on the paper;
"A counter claim, of the same amount, for damages ensued to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the pain and suffering for the 6 families of deceased students, the medical bills for the injured staff and students that were left after the fight."

The Doctor groaned a little bit. What the hell did Leon think he was going to achieve by pissing off Briony? Sighing a little bit, he accepted the piece of paper and glanced at it for a second,
"I hardly see how the pain and suffering of 6 families compares to the fact that British aurors are occupying one of our cities." he countered before smiling faintly, "Counter to yours would be one million galleons instead. After all... the most pain and suffering the children could suffer would be under incompetent professors. But I'm sure you don't have anyone like that on your staff."

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Briony was much happier dealing with th Doctor, her newly acquired purchase was hanging just inside her dress if things were going to get a little hairy later on in the meeting. Hoping not however, Briony merely shrugged her shoulders;
"Hey, I don't make the prices." she smirked "But as I am sure our Minister will tell you, German attacks to our places of Magical Standing, also created quite a bit of damage to business and industry."
A twinkle of mirth in her eyes, Briony chuckled to the Doctor; "No indeed, I can also install the same hope in your own Durmstrang institution."

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Ah, the infamous glare. Adele thought.
She heard the others speak, surprised at how they just jumped in, she supposed it was better, that way she could keep her temper in check as he proposed it.
" I'm sorry but your proposition will not be accepted" she said simply.
She knew that their Minister had a temper, and she'd use it for her advantage if need be. She shifted in her chair, and placed her hands on the table gently, her eyes betraying her gentility, with the sternness.
"Perhaps in your opinion it's hardly the case Doctor" She began "But the fact is that the German attacks have increased since three years ago, students have been injured, and not only by your...people, but even from your institution"
She looked at the doctor raising her brow.
"We've had not only physical harm towards our civilians, but mental and emotional scarring, for that the reparations are expected as such. So if you're going to play the victim card, who are we kidding here"

Briony fell silent when the Minister spoke, she thought that she would probably be the best one to speak about these things, it was her job after all and all Briony seemed to do was antagonise people into getting aggressive with her.
Probably because of her attitude she supposed, but oh well, they coudl deal with it for the course of this meeting. Waiting to hear what either the Doctor or this Leon guy had to say in return, she raised an eyebrow slightly.

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Leon was already starting to think that the best option available to him right now was to capture the british people in the room and hold them to ransom. Or just kill them. Either way it would benefit his country more than this talk. He frowned,
"I can see I was right to question whether the British were stupid for electing such a weak willed woman to be their minister." he commented allowed, "Someone who cowers behind a school teacher. And not a competant one."
He rolled his eyes. Was she really that stupid? He glanced at Adele,
"Were you born this stupid or did you take lessons?" he asked her in amusement, "Of course German attacks have gone up in the last three years. We've been at war for three years now. A war which, during those three years, British actions against us have forced our hand."
Leon saw that this line of argument was going nowhere and waved his hand,
"Enough." he declared firmly before turning to Adele, "Your aurors are in one of my cities Luna. They are looting my stores. They are killing my people. I want to know why I shouldn't take the entire Germany army and march into London to do the same."

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Adele rolled her eyes at his childish comments. Her fingers automatically went to her temples as she rubbed them in circles trying to calm down that daunting headache that was coming soon. This man wasn't even listening to the facts, for her, he was simply being an arrogant fool, who can't even accept that he was at blame here, he simply wanted to play the victim.
She didn't appreciate the jibe at the Headmistress of Hogwarts or herself and she sighed before replying.
"I see that all sense of politics are gone, and now you are resorting to childish insults. That's fine, it makes it clearer as to why we cannot possibly come to an agreement. First of all, she is a very competent Headmistress, handles her students graciously and protects them from any harm that comes their way. As for me, no I was not born stupid, I was born with respect and with a control of my emotions."
At him once more blaming the English, she knew perhaps it was no use to try and compromise.
"Perhaps you did not hear me, or chose not too, but the fact is that the attacks within the three years have been getting more aggressive and what matters to us is that it attacks students, students on student violence and so forth. And march to London? You have basically allowed your damn people to march into Diagon and attack my people! The children I am forced to protect."
She growled inwardly and looked away gripping the chair tightly.
"This is going no where, with petty insults, and playing the victim card, perhaps it's foolish to think we are going to come up with a solution....but I will bring this to the table. We pay you third of the money you ask for, but in return you make a public statement frowning upon the rogue attacks towards Britain, as well as publicly sending aid towards the rebuilding process, this way we get our reparations done as well."

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Briony gritted her teeth and she could feel the shadows beginning to draw towards her like they often did when she got angry, she did not want to stop them either, she wanted them to gather to let Leon know she was not best pleased with what he had said to her.
A little surprised when the Minister spoke up for her, Briony nodded her head, and found herself respecting the woman an awful lot more because of the strong stance that she was taking, although she was not sure that she should say anything Briony felt like she needed to commune her backing of the offer.
"That is a good solution from our side, very lenient, I suggest that you take it seriously, this is as Minister Luna points out, a matter of politics not pesonal emotions." she muttered calmly, keeping her eyes fixed on the Doctor, the only one on the German side she had any respect for.

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Leon knew that he was laying it on rather thick with the line of a victim but to him it was justified. A german city was currently in the possession of the British Auror corps after all. He was not about to take it lying down, he simply couldn't. He shook his head,
"You are very inexperienced in these matters aren't you?" he asked with a small smirk, "It's my job to rile you up so that you make slip ups I can capitalise on. It doesn't seem to work on you Minister... but I recommend you ask Mrs Romain to calm down. It's unseemly."
He breathed a heavy sigh. Attacking children had never been one of his policies, it had been his predecessor's,
"I have been in office as, what you would call, Minister since this year began. You seem to be under the impression that I ordered attacks on your school. My predecessor did, I did not." he nodded, "I ordered raids on Diagon Alley. Not because of the potential for catching children but because it is the centre of your economy. That is beside the point. The point is the actions of your administration in my city Luna. I have a list of four hundred names, all dead. Not one of them a german auror. All killed by your aurors in their attack on my city."
Leon looked across the table directly into Adele's eyes. Weighing up his options, and receiving a nod from The Doctor, Leon nodded shortly,
"We will accept a third of the reparations and both The Doctor and I will condemn the attacks." he frowned slightly, "If I am going to be accepting some of the repairs for the attacks then I would rather take a fifth of the reparations I asked for. Keep the rest for rebuilding."

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
Briony decided from the last statement from the Minister that he had made an enemy of her and she would relish the oppertunity to take everything he loved and watch him fall from his position into one of a little less comfort....
However she did not aknowledge his statement and merely turned to the Doctor instead with a little jaunty smile on her lips;
"I suggest you keep your Minister in check Doctor, you know as well as any in this room that I'm not exactly one to get on the wrong side of." taking a small breath Briony bowed her head for a moment "As it is, I have a proposition for you Doctor, although I take the schools business as my own, and I wish to discuss it with you seperately."

Re: Peace Talks (Invite only)
The Doctor had been sat through most of the peace talk with a frown on his face. It didn't seem like they were going to be getting anywhere. When Briony asked if she could speak to him alone about something to do with their two schools he was very relieved. He smiled faintly and nodded,
"I believe I would enjoy having a discussion with you madam Romain." he chuckled a little bit, "All this talk is depressing me a little. Perhaps talking about our schools will cheer me up."
He stood up and bowed slightly to both Leon and Adele,
"I am sorry but the meeting between madam Romain and I is of the utmost importance." he chuckled a little bit as he lead Briony out of the room, "Try not to cause M.A.D."
