Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Lesson Three - Second Years

Post by Briony Romain Mon May 14, 2012 6:22 pm

Briony was not in a very good mood at the moment. She had spent all night awake while Raven was screaming at the top of her lungs, it was not a very exciting experience so far, being a parent and Briony only hoped it would get better as she grew up.

Sighing a little she placed her head in her hands and looked at the empty classroom, hopefully it would not be empty for long as she waited for the students to fill it.

On the board she wrote what they would be doing for lessons today:

'Riktusempra'

Sam smiled as she walked toward dueling, she loved this class she walked inside and she saw the professor didn't look like she was in a very good mood.

Sam's smile faded quickly and she have the professor a nod and she sat down at her normal spot in the back of the classroom, Sam wondered whom all was going to show up Sam shrugged inwardly and waited for the class to start.

Alcyone was sat in her common room, fretting over Caelum and Capella. To distract herself, she thought of Haley and felt a huge smile spread over her face. Haley was like a big sister, someone she could always run to when she was scared. And there was Jaycie, her best friend who she knew she'd always have by her side and love. Soon though, Alcyone realised she ought to go to her lesson and it was with an irritated sigh that she forced herself up and walked along to it. When she arrived, she sat in the middle and waited.

Xander was not really looking forward to class. He was happy not to be late this time, but was curious how the headmistress would react. He had stopped by her office and had received no answer when he knocked.

He shrugged and took a seat, worried at her stressed out appearance. He hoped things would get better for her, she really was a great teacher.

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Briony sighed and looked up from where she was sitting, after all now it was about time to get the classes started, seeing as there were some people there now to actually teach. Placing a strained smile upon her lips, Briony stood up and came to rest on the front of her desk.

Surprised that so many of her students who did not usually show up for her class, had done so, Briony was put in a more enlightened mood than usual.

"Hello class, as you can see I am very very tired because of our new little arrival, so I am likely to snap at you. Apologies in advance." she said with a wry smile.

"Today we are going to be learning the spell 'Riktusempra'
can anyone tell me what this spell does to the person it is cast on?"

Sam nodded inwardly at the professor, she knew if she'd snap at them it'd be because she was tired Sam looked around and raised her hand.

" The spell causes a person to be tickled" Sam said hoping she was right she sighed inwardly and she looked at the professor and Sam waited for her to answer.

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Jaycie's eyes were wide in fear as she pelted around the corner. Late again. But this time it was for Professor Romain's class, and the Romains always scared her.

She bit her lip and knocked on the door before opening it. Professor Romain certainly did not look happy. She'd started the lesson, too. Jay scanned the class and inwardly sighed in relief as she saw Alcyone there. At least it wouldn't as bad a lesson as she thought!

Briony flicked open the door when she heard someone knocking upon it seeing that it was one of her students that was late, she frowned a little and gestured for Jaycie to come to the front of the classroom to stand by her.

"Thank you for your answer Sam, 10 points to Gryffindor, 10 points from Hufflepuff for your tardiness Jaycie and you will have to be the class example for the spell."

Smirking a little, Briony waited until Jaycie seemed ready and cast Riktusempra at her, making contact and letting the spell stay active for a time, she then dispelled it with the counter.

"Now each of you take a dummy, cast the spell upon it, and it will move as if it is human if you cast it correctly."

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

After the demonstration, Xander took up a position across from a dummy. Taking a deep breath for concentration, he tried the spell.

It barely grazed the dummy's shoulder, so didn't get the result he was looking for. Closing his eyes he thought back to how good he felt after his sword practice in the weapons room. It always made him feel centered and grounded. Trying to key into that feeling he tried the spell again.

This time it hit it's mark. The dummy's torso moved up and down, as if it was laughing.

Jaycie swallowed past the lump in her throat and moved to beside the professor, eyes down cast. She had a second to glance up as the professor cast the spell on her but then her whole body felt like like it was being racked with tickles. Jaycie started moving against her own will and laughed maniacally. Tears sprang from her eyes and her sides began to ache.

Finally the spell was lifted and Jaycie's body was her own again. She sighed in relief and moved to put her stuff next to Alcyone before taking out her wand and finding a dummy.

"Riktusempra," she said, with as much confidence as she could muster, though her voice was fairly shaky.

The dummy started to twitch a little, but it didn't seem affected too much. She glanced around quickly and saw that Xander's was seemingly reacting appropriately and frowned down back at her dummy.

"Riktesempra," she said more strongly this time. The dummy started jiggling. That's better, Jaycie thought.

Sam watched the demonstration and sighed when Sam heard she had earned her house ten points Sam smiled inwardly and she sighed and pulled her wand out she pointed her wand at the dummy and sighed " rictusempra" Sam said and she watched as the spell hit the dummies torso and it began to laugh.

Sam glanced at professor Romain and wondered what she was going to stay.

Briony nodded her head and had a small smile on her lips when the other students began to cast the spells and they managed to hit their marks, after a few tries from some of the students however, not that it mattered very much.

"Well done students, take ten points each for correctly performing the spell, class is dismissed and I'll see you all next lesson." she said, waving her wand to flick open the classroom door for the students to leave.
