Lesson 3, Year 3

[Sofia Slytherin]

Sofia had not really been in any mood to teach any of her classes but she knew it had to be done. It had been a very trying week for her mind. She had had to deal with Anne dying and then coming back to life. Even though she had not had a chance to talk to her yet, which was one her list.

Then she finds out her whole last 13 years of her life had been a lie, these people who stole her child had ruined her life. She was lucky that she was not one of those people who thought about jumping off the tower.

She just sat at her desk waiting for the class to arrive.

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey came into the Astronomy tower, and noticed that it was completely empty aside from Professor Slytherin. So, he took a seat at the front of the room and sat down. He waited for the other students to arrive and took out his astronomy book, as well as parchment, quill, and inkpot to take notes with.

"Hello Professor Slytherin. Is this class usually so empty? Last time I was here it was much more packed." he said.

[Sofia Slytherin]

Sofia had to smile when Mr. Williams came into class and she had to look around,

"Well there is still some time for the rest of the class to arrive, so Please have a seat and tell me how your travels have been?"

Sofia had been a little surprised when she received an owl from the Headmistress informing her that Mr. Williams was back. Sometimes her visions were never right on.

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey gladly sat down and smiled back at his professor. "I'd love to professor. Well, basically what happened was my uncle Billy and aunt Julia needed me at home. My uncle went in for his yearly physical, and he was diagnosed with cancer in his brain. A tumor had been growing there, but he didn't know until he saw his doctor. They wanted me home so I could spend some time with them before my uncle wasn't there any longer. He was put into treatment, but the chances of success were never high. And, just a couple months ago he died." he said in as even a tone as he could manage. He missed his uncle, even though they had never gotten along famously.

"Then, my aunt Julia needed me there for funeral arrangements and to help grive the loss of my uncle. One day this week when we were sitting at the table eating dinner she asked if I was ready to return to Hogwarts. I told her I was more than ready to come back, and the rest you know. It feels great to be back here, feels like home." Humphrey said quietly.

[Haley Vilde Smith]

Haley walked into the classroom with a smile on her face, and raised her eyebrows slightly when she saw Humphrey there. She gave the professor a smile, before she sat down in one of the comfy chairs next to him.

"Hey," she said happily.

Then she turned her attention to the professor wondering what they'd be learning this class. She hoped it was Venus. She loved that planet. It was the planet she'd been born under.

Sofia smiled as Humphrey talked about his time off, it seemed like a lot to place on the shoulders of someone as young as him, but that seemed to be the way of things.

"Well, I am glad you are back." Sofia smiled

Turning herself so she can looked at both students,

"Well we have been learning about the planets, and today we are going to discuss our own planet. Can you tell me what you know about our home planet of Earth?"

[Humphrey Williams]

"Earth is one of very few planets that has water on it. Mars has ice at its poles, but water is a rarity. Not many planets have it. Also, earth has an oxygen and nitrogen atmosphere. Which is what makes it breathable for human and animal life." Humphrey said.

In school, he had always paid attention in his science classes. So, he knew a little bit about the Earth. Not a lot, but a little bit.

[Sofia Slytherin]

Sofia could not help but smile, Mr Williams always seemed to have answers.

"Very good Mr. Williams, how about you Ms. Smith what can you tell me about Earth?"

Sofia was going to wait for an answer but noticed that they had run out of time. "If you owl me your answer Ms. Smith I shall award you 10 points."

Sofia knew it had been her fault with the time, so at least she would give her a chance.

"Class dismissed"
