Herbology: Lesson Three Year One

Walking into class she knew that only one person would be in said class and sighed. It was nice to have one student, but she'd prefer more, perhaps her lessons had grown boring.

She frowned at the thought.

'Wolfsbane' she wrote on the board.

Carly walked down to the greenhouse, excited for herbology, even if she was the only student in the class. She didn't know why, after all she had really enjoyed the lessons so far.

Entering the classroom she smiled at the many plants. She then saw what was written on the board and tried to think what she knew about Wolfsbane.

Smiling seeing her only student she wondered if her sweet Hufflepuff student had not quit so she'd not leave Lily's class empty. She hoped not, and she hoped she stayed because she cared for the class, if even a bit.

"Welcome Miss Carly Grass"She grinned. "Since our whole class is here, might as well start" she giggled.

"Can you tell me anything you know about Wolfsbane?"

Carly smiled, she only knew a bit about the plant and wanted to learn more;

"It can also be called monkshood and is used in wolfsbane potion. The plant ha purple flowers and is usually found in the mountains, I think" Carly said, glad she had remembered some information about the small plant.

Lily smiled brightly and nodded.

"Very good Miss Grass, five points. Now I'd like for you to put on those gloves there while we take the petals from the Aconite alright? Seems that they are needed in the Dungeon for potions." she said smiling "As you said, everything is true, except that you forgot to mention that they are poisonous."

She clicked her tongue as she picked it up without gloves.

"Unless you are as much of an expert as I am" she said winking. "The leaves are very dangerous, so be careful to not let it touch your skin alright? Good, now first draw a sketch of it so when I test you you have it to study" she said winking.

She wanted her student to pass.

"And we will be simply pruning Aconite does that sound alright? Simply do five and class will be dismissed, that is with a tiny 100 word assignment to describe what you learned today."

Carly smiled as she got out some parchment to sketch the plant on, she liked drawing, so enjoyed the lesson.

"That sounds great" she said, she enjoyed pruning the plants, however she made sure to keep her gloves on at all times so her hands wouldnt touch the leaves of the plants. As for the 100 word assignment, she could easily do that with the things she had learnt.

Carly decided Herbology was definitely her favourite lesson.
