Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Lesson Three - Second Years

Post by Darcie Vane Tue Jul 10, 2012 1:27 am

Darcie had a lovely Christmas, she had spent the day itself with her father and then went to visit her friend Luther, she had thought that he would like to be around someone when it was Christmas as it didn't seem like he would have too many friends to call in on.

Now however she was more than happy to be back at school, it was good to be here again and she was glad that she had missed the rampage of Wraiths that raven lead through the school on Christmas.

Biting her lip she tapped her rainbow painted nails on the desk in front of her, she was so excited to begin the lesson today, turning she wrote on the board the lesson topic;

'Centaur Divination'

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Lars' Christmas had been kind of dull for him. He went home, and his family had been their usual annoying selves. The only good thing that happened over break had been a unique spear he had gotten as a present. Still wasn't sure what all it could do, but had figured out a couple of the things and really liked it.

Walking into Divination class, he took a seat and looked up at the board. Centaur Divination, that was something he knew nothing about. "Hello Professor Vane, how was your break?" Oddly enough, Professor Vane had rainbow painted nails, they looked pretty cool.

Christi entered the room and sat on one of the chairs. She was relieved that classes were finally back again. She actually made a lot of mess after hearing that the third lesson was about to begin.

She greeted Lehrer Vane, waved at Lars, and sat on one of the seats. She took out her book and looked at the board. Centaur Divination.

This was something Christi knew about. Partly - at least. She looked around the room, hoping some more students would entered. Like Lomasi, or Lucienne. She then noticed that the lehrer had rainbow-painted nails. Christi grinned. Her nails were painted blue with yellow polka-dots.

Darcie smiled happily when her students entered, she was glad to see them both again and she couldn't help but notice the lovely way that Christielle had her nails painted, it was so nice that she looked at her own, and thought that next time she might paint hers that way.

"Hey there you two, I love your nails Christielle, they must have taken ages to do." she smiled happily "My break was lovely thank you Lars, I hope you two had nice breaks too and you were spoilt with presents."

Looking back to the board, Darcie asked the two students in front of her; "What do either of you two know about centaur divination, anything at all?"

Christi nodded and smiled. "Thanks, it was a bit of work," she said, shrugging. She looked down at her book, with the words 'Centaur Divination' at the topmost part.

She raised her hand and stood up. "Centaur divination is distinct from that of human's divination, mainly based on observing planets, moons, and stars. It can take up to a decade for centaurs to understand what these celestial portents mean," she said.

That was all she knew. Christi sat down again, hoping she was right. Verstand had the most House points already, and she hoped to earn some more.

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Darcie knew that Christielle would come up with the answers to the questions she had set the pair, after all she seemed the more confident and vocal of the students, hopefully this was not because she had shouted at Lars for being too pushy at the start of this year.

"Well done Christielle! 10 points to Verstand house, centaur divination is exactly like that, many different tribes believes different things, however, one of the belief is that every star correlates to a human, or creature, and by looking at the position of said star in line with the planets their future can be told."

Writing this all down on the board Darcie paused for a moment, and then began to speak once more;

"Not only this but they believe that they can divine nations futures from looking at the patterns in the stars that correlate to that nation, but can anyone tell me one of the main rules of soothsaying? In any respect?"

Lesson Three - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Three - Second Years

Post by Mirri Kinne Sun Jul 15, 2012 12:20 pm

"Sorry, Miss. I think I've lost my mind or something. I've been late everywhere today. Please forgive me and don't tell Eleri. I have enough explaining to do to her already. I really am sor...ooooh, Centaurs. I haven't met one yet. Is one coming to help with the class? Aren't they just the most amazing of the creatures. " looking around Mirri realized that again she had just interrupted class with her stupid rambling. When would she ever learn to just say sorry and quit?

This was something she had been punished for numerous times at home. Mother said her talking was a curse and she often wished she hadn't learned. But her younger sisters loved to hear her cuz she could come up with awesome stories that way.

"Sorry, Miss. I didn't mean to interrupt." Quickly she sat down and pulled her supplies from her satchel. Writing her name and lesson title on her papers she snuck a peek at the other students. It was probably her own fault she had no real friends here. She wondered just what they thought of her now that they knew her.

"Sorry" she whispered so quietly that no one else heard. Tears forming in her eyes, Mirri kept her head down and just listened to what was being said.

Darcie blinked a little as Mirri walked into the classroom very late and looking very flustered, and she got a little concerned for her when she looked like she was starting to get upset about being late, she just couldn't be even meaner to her and take points from Risiko, she was so upset already and looked like she was really very sorry.

"Hey hey no worries, I wont tell anyone you were late." she smiled gently "No need to get so upset, there's no punishment for having a passion for soothsaying in this class! Just try to be on time next lesson okay?"

With a soft smile on her lips Darcie then turned to the rest of the class;

"In answer to my question, one of the main rules of soothsaying is to never EVER divine your own future, it often ruins the mind and if something negative is found then it could ruin the rest of the life that the Seer posesses. So naturally Centaurs do not look to their own stars to find out what is going to happen to them, but often, as we do, look at their friends."
