Reconciliation (OPEN)

Jessamine had waited until a week or so after the attack, so that she had time to think about what she was going to say to Silas, she had been, in the most simple of terms, a bitch to him when he had tried to help her and she knew that she needed to apologise for what she had told him.

Even though she was still hurt and she thought that he didn't really want to keep her as a girlfriend when they had met at the attack, Jessamine thought that he at least deserved to know that she still had feelings for him, and to tell him what she was most upset about. Not only that, but to get a chance to apologise.

Approaching the army tents, Jessamine poked her head into the main one and smiled triumphantly when she found Silas, he looked like he was busy and she rushed into the tent and hugged him tightly around the shoulders, pressing her lips to his own in a gentle, yet passionate kiss.

Breaking away Jessamine smoothed some of his hair out of his face and said softly;

"I'm sorry."

Silas hadn't cried in seven years, since his grandfather had died, but what Jessamine had said to him the day of the attacks had made him go home, close the fire to the floo, lock the doors, close the blinds, unplug the phone and cry on the floor for the next five hours. It was not his proudest of moments but he couldn't keep it in anymore. He just had to cry, to try and get it out of his system.

He had even told her that he loved her and she had just ignored it. She had just ignored the feelings that he had for her and probably always would have.

Silas was in the officer's tent, looking over some logistics forms, when he heard the tent flaps open. Turning to see who it was, he was surprised to find arms wrapped around him. What surprised him even more was the passionate, but gentle, kiss that followed. His lips felt tingly when it was done and he finally saw who kissed him. He felt tears welling up and he tried to blink them away,

"What are you sorry for Jessamine?" he whispered quietly, "For turning me away? For yelling at me? Or for not..."

He choked up slightly,

"Or for ignoring me when I told you that I loved you?"

Jessamine was well aware that she had behaved in the most horrible and awful ways possible to Silas on the day of the attack but she had really not thought about what was going to happen when she came to see Silas to explain that she knew that she had been horrible.

He might not even want her now that she had come to apologise, after all he didn't seem to have been very bothered when she had been upset on the day of the attack.

Seeing that he was welling up with tears Jessmine hugged him still around the neck and lay her head on his shoulders;

"I'm sorry for everything I said on that day, I was a horrible horrible bitch to you and I really am sorry. I know it's not an excuse but...with the attack and then my shop being blown up I was just...all over the place and somehow because you're in charge of everything here, it all became your fault and it shouldn't have done."

Silas had been in emotional tormoil for the better part of two days because of what had happened between him and Jessamine. She seemed to think that he didn't care about her losses in the attacks but he did. He cared so much that he was already making plans with Minister Rubin to have a not-so-friendly chat with the British Rebels about their actions.

The hug was starting to sap any remaining anger he held towards her though. It helped that most of the anger had been directed at himself of course. He slowly began to hug her back, not wanting to let her go,

"It's... it's alright Jessamine... I wasn't as sympathetic as I could have been... I tried to wall it all away... I didn't want to break down..." he whispered to her quietly, trying to hold the tears back in, "I'm sorry that I hurt you by not being able to keep the promise I made... I didn't know..."

Silas gently pulled away from her shoulder so that he could look at her,

"I... I love you Jessamine..."

Jessamine smiled gently and she listened to Silas and what he was saying to her about what he thought that he had done to upset her, all she had wanted was for him to give her a hug and for her to be able to let out all of her emotions out of her, through tears probably.

When he began to hug her back, Jessamine felt herself feeling a little bit more secure, it was very nice the way that she felt this conversation was going, they were not arguing yet which was a very good sign given their last conversation.

"Silas you don't need to keep your emotions from me, I was more upset that you seemed to be hiding them and...it sounds stupid but I only wanted you to hug me and tell me everything was going to be okay. When I didn't get that I flipped." she said with a shy smile "I'm sorry about that."

As soon as Silas moved her a litle bit away from him Jessamine pouted, but then, her lips broke into a smile and she hugged him hard once more, kissing him softly on the lips, before whispering;

"I love you too Silas Grey, meine liebling."

Silas didn't want to fight anymore. It was strange for a military man, who had been almost bred to fight, to tire of fighting but this wasn't the kind of fighting he was made for. The verbal sniping, the arguments... he didn't want any of that. All he wanted was to be able to live peacefully with Jessamine in their love.

He hugged her tighter to him now. Like he didn't want to let go because, quite honestly, he didn't want to let go. He wanted to hold her to him so that she would stay with him like this,

"I'm sorry Jessamine, it's been my way for a long time and I've never needed to change it before. But now that I have you I can change it, I have a reason to be more expressive, a reason to change. Now that I have you I will hug you to help you through your emotions." he told her before he suddenly looked sadly sheepish, "That is... if you still want me..."

Silas kissed Jessamine back softly, trying to convey his love for her through the kiss. He held her close to him as a few tears of joy slipped down his cheeks,

"You have no idea how happy that makes me Jessamine...!"

Jessamine was being hugged tighter and tighter to Silas and she loved it, she had missed him so much in the past few weeks that she just couldn't see herself with anybody else, she knew that this feeling of heartache must be because she had hurt the person that she had loved the most.

Gently Jessamine placed kisses up and down Silas' neck, trying her best to comfort him as he looked more upset with each minute, hopefully he would be able to cheer up now that they had both apologised for what they had done.

"Of course I still want you Silas!" she said with a small gasp "I was a perfect fool when I said there was nothing between us and I have never been more wrong, so you just ingore whatever I said last time, okay?" she asked with a happy smile on her lips.

Wiping away his tears, Jessamine smiled happily and she kissed his lips once more;

"Do...do you need me to go? I mean you are in the middle of work after all and I did sort of barge in unannounced."

Silas wasn't about to let go even now, when he knew that his hugging was getting to be a little bit tight. He just didn't want to take the chance that this was all some kind of dream and she actually still hated him. So he held her to him, not just for the happiness of contact but because it told him that this was real. His heart had ached when they had been apart and now that they were back together again it was almost like it was soaring.

The gentle kisses up and down his neck made Silas sigh happily and return the favour on Jessamine's slender neck. He was already feeling better now that they were together like this,

"Well if you think you have room in your life for a stubborn war horse like me..." he joked lightly before smiling wider than he ever had done before, "Then who am I to say no? Especially when it means I get to stay with my angel..."

He kissed her back happily before chuckling a little bit,

"Well all I was doing was co-ordinating the relief effort to the damaged parts of the city." he told her with a smile, "So you could help me if you like or I could get some of my advisers to do it and we can just sit here and hold each other."

Jessamine smiled happily and she didn't know that she could have pulled this off so well, she would have thought that they would have fought more than they had, that maybe Silas would have hated her so much that he didn't want to see her any more now.

But everything seemed to be slotting back into place and she was just enjoying the fact that they were together once more and it was so nice to be held by him again.

"Oh Silas," she laughed, blushing when he called her the angel that she was, Jessamine realised how much she had missed him calling her that, it was strange the way she missed even something so small like that "You might be a stubborn war horse, but you're my stubborn war horse."

With a large smile Jessamine looked at the maps and she could feel herself sagging a little bit;

"I'm really not good at things like this, so maybe I should just watch or something." she smiled gently.

Silas knew that they probably should have fought more. Other couples that had had this kind of problem would have but not them. They'd had one fight and then that was it really. They'd learnt to forgive each other and they did it rather easily. But right now he didn't care. All he cared about was that his arms were once again wrapped around Jessamine, doing what they believed they had been made for, holding her close to him. He chuckled a little bit,

"Yes I am a stubborn war house for my angel." he agreed with a smirk before grinning and rubbing his nose against hers, "Meine engel."

Seeing that she didn't seem to be enthused by the current project, Silas chuckled a little bit and shook his head,

"No no no..." he waved at a soldier to order some coffee, "I meant lets talk about some of the civilian businesses and how they were hit. Who do you think has it worst?"

Jessamine giggled a little bit, she nuzzled her nose against his as he did the same to her, she was glad that she had managed to convince Silas that she did not in fact mean to say the things that she had said when they had fought a few days ago.

Giving him a small kiss on the lips, Jessmine grinned;

"Sehr Sehr good miene leibling!" she smiled happily, giving him another kiss on the lips "You are picking up more German! Or did you learn that especially?"

When he asked her for her local opinion, Jessamine made a face that showed that she now understood and she smiled happily and she sat down in front of the table;

"I'm good at things like this, I know the local area pretty well." she smiled "So I think that I could help pretty well if you want to show me what you thought already."

Silas grinned a little bit. He had missed Jessamine's giggle and hearing it again today brightened his day and he could almost feel a weight lifting from his shoulders. The nuzzling of the noses thing had been something he'd seen couples do back in Britain but he'd never done it before. It was rather amusing he had to admit. The small kiss made him smile happily and he chuckled,

"Thanks, I mean... danke meine... leibe?" he half-asked and half-said. His German was not very good yet. He enjoyed the other kiss to the lips as a reward anyway. He chuckled sheepishly, "I'm trying to learn more german so that we can speak in your native language..."

Silas, seeing that Jessamine was now on board with this whole thing, grinned a little bit and picked up a notepad. He nodded and picked up a pen,

"That could be very useful for us Jessamine." he told her with a smile, before frowning, "Well mainly the food and drink parts of the highstreet. Your cafe included. Around your area the rebel did a lot of structural damage but other rebels in the city made a real mess of the food markets. Which should we focus on? Getting the food market running again or structural reconstruction? Oh and the engineers will be at your place tomorrow to make sure my work wasn't shoddy."

Jessamine was over the moon when Silas told her that he was attempting to learn her own language so that they might be able to speak in her native tongue, it was something that she felt was very sweet and she appreciated it very much.

"Silas that is so sweet, thank you so much for trying to learn German, but please don't make it a top priority, I know that little phrases like that mean a lot to me, you don't need to speak 100% German all the time." she grinned.

Biting her lip she thought about the town and what people tended to do the most, and what people would need, tapping her fingers on the table she smiled gently but ran her fingers through her hair to concentrate a little bit more, and stop being so nervous.

"I...I think that the structural damage is something that should be done first, like you saw with me, people live above their shops and have now had to move to other places until it's fixed. The market can set up temporary stalls in the meantime, maybe someone could fix some together for them? Just basic ones."

Silas was a little bit sheepish about admitting, openly, that he was trying to learn German for Jessamine. But he knew it would mean a lot to her to not have to keep using just English. Judging by her reaction he was right in this belief. He blushed slightly and chuckled a little bit,

"Well it's really only something I do in my spare time but I try to dedicate as much time to it as is needed." he smiled a little bit before cupping her cheek gently with his hand, "I want to be able to use your language to speak to you meine leibe... I want you to hear my love for you in the language you know best."

Silas watched as Jessamine ran her fingers through her hair to help try and relieve some of the stress. She looked beautiful when she did so and Silas couldn't help but give her a quick peck on the lips,

"Structural damage first... gotcha." he agreed as he noted it down, "I'll get the engineers prepped to begin immediately. So Jessamine... where have you been staying?"

Jessamine smiled happily and she was glad that Silas felt so passionately about what he was doing, in learning the language, it made her feel special that he would try and do something so difficult for her, and she wondered if she could help him in learning it, if he wanted her help that is.

"Well I could always help you learn it if you wanted some help, or you found something difficult and needed help, but English and German and kind of the same in most ways." she smiled cheerfully.

Giggling a little when she was kissed on the lips swiftly, Jessamine sighed when Silas asked where she had been staying, she knew that topic would be brought up, she just hoped that they didn't go into too much detail.

"My parent's house, and I know how much they've loved that." she said sarcastically, rolling her eyes "Anything else you want to ask about the city?"

He really wanted to learn the language because as much as Jessamine spoke in English there were somethings he wanted to know that would only be known to him if he knew German. Silas wanted to know what Jessamine was saying when she cursed at having stubbed her toe. Silas wanted to know what she said when she mumbled in her sleep. And he wanted to know so that he could be closer to her,

"Yes I've been finding that the differences between the two languages are too big really. A lot easier than learning French and I already know French so perhaps this will be easier?" he suggested before grinning, "If I need help I'll be sure to come to you for help."

There it was again! That sweet, melodical, giggle. He loved to hear it, he really did. He wanted to hear it again and again, everyday, until the day he died. He paused,

"Oh... I see." he whispered before looking away, rather sheepish, "Well it's not about the city really but would you... I don't know... want to stay with me until the repairs are done?"

Jessamine happily gazed at Silas, she was so happy that he was trying to learn about German language so that he could in turn learn more about her mannerisms, and more about herself. When he said that he already knew French, Jessamine grinned;

"Oh yes that will help a lot, all those languages are pretty much the same and I think the structuring of the sentences are the same so thats easy." she grinned lightly.

Seeing that Silas looked sheepish, Jessamine smiled happily and kissed his gently on the lips, tilting her head up to make sure that they had a long, and soft kiss, not just a simple peck.

Unable to stop grinning when he asked her to stay with him Jessamine hugged him softly;

"I would love to stay with you Silas, I think it would be wonderful, makes me feel more like a couple...you know if we live together." she blushed gently.

Silas had to admit that he regretted not taking German at school like he had done with French. But at the time Britain had been more likely to go to war with France than Germany. Now he wished he'd had the foresight to do both but hindsight is 20/20,

"Well then I guess I will excell at learning german then meine leibe." he told her with a small smirk, "But we'll see ja?"

When she kissed him again it was clear that she wanted to give him more than just a peck on the lips. He happily gave it to her. The kiss was not only soft and loving but it was long and meaningful. When they broke away, mainly to breathe, Silas sighed happily and hugged her back when she hugged him,

"You would? That would be great! It's going to be so good having you around Jessamine." he told her with a wide grin before kissing her gently on the lips, "It will make us feel more couple-y... I'll love it."

Jessamine smiled gently and she nodded her head, she really hoped that Silas would be able to pick up German easily, because it would be odd when it came to conversations to not actually have to use English when she spoke as she so often did.

"Indeed we will see Silas, we shall see." she grinned lightly before nibbling at her lip and playing with the long strands of hair that hung around her shoulders.

The kiss that they shared made Jessamine blush gently and she thought that maybe it would be nice to go out and have some dinner with Silas in a nearby restaurant tonight maybe he would want to do the same thing?

"Do you want to be able to go out with me tonight for a meal?" she asked hopefully "We could move all my stuff into your apartment and then we could go out afterwards?"

Silas was going to really try as hard as he could to learn German so that it wouldn't be quite so hard or awkward for Jessamine to always be talking in a foreign language. But right now he was a bit too happy and concerned with being close to her again since they had been apart,

"Only time will tell meine leibling." he agreed before beginning to gently and soft kiss at her soft neck as she played with her hair, "Mmm Ich leibe dich Jessamine."

The kiss seemed to have made Jessamine blush and Silas was very happy about that because it showed she wanted it almost as much as he did. He grinned and kissed her gently on the lips again, quickly this time,

"Nothing would make me happier than to go out for a meal with you Jessamine." he replied with a smile, "What food do you want to get? I can have some elves take your stuff."

Jessamine purred slightly when Silas began to kiss at her neck and playing with her hair gently, it was so nice to feel this loved, but she felt a little awkward with the angle that they were kissing at, so she stood up from her seat and hugged her arms around his neck.

"I love you too Silas." she whispered quietly, before looking at the door of the tent, and then back into his own eyes "Do you want to get out of here?" Jessamine asked with a sly smile on her lips.

At hearing that Silas did in fact want to be able to go out for a meal with her, and that she wouldn't have to actually go back to her parents to get her things, that would be something that she appreciated greately. Not having the greatest of relationships with her parents.

"I think that I could go for some Italian." she smiled gently "Do you like Italian food too? And thank you...I would like it for the elves to fetch my things."

Hearing Jessamine purr as he kissed her neck and played with her hair made Silas grin and nibble at her soft skin. Oh it felt good to know that what he was doing pleased Jessamine. He wrapped his own arms around her waist to held her close to him as well,

"Mmm I love you so very much..." he whispered before standing up and following her when she moved to the exit to the tent. He smirked a little bit before grinning, "You know it Jessamine. Lets get out of here."

He could see that Jessamine liked his idea of both getting lunch and not having to pick up her belongings personally. The elves would probably thank them for giving them the work to be honest. He grinned,

"I love italian food Jessamine. Let's go get some now then yeah?" he chuckled a little bit, "I'd live off Italian if I could. As for the elves, I'll dispatch them immediately if that's alright with you."

Jessamine ran her hands through her hair and she kissed Silas once more before they walked out fo the tent and began to look down the street, she was a little bit nervous that Silas wasn't actually supposed to leave the camp...

Deciding she didn't care, Jessamine walked outside of the tent and smiled lightly; "It makes me feel nice to walk outside in the nice fresh air with you, it's...it's like I know that I'm definately safe for a change." Jessamine sighed happily.

Nodding her head happily she looked up at the sky and closed her eyes, the warm weather was making her feel so much happier than she felt in the winter, it was just so horrible in the winter.

"Oh that's more than okay with me." she smiled gently "And I would like to go and get some now, I know a good place to get some as well." Jessamine grinned.
