Duelling Lesson One - Second Years

Briony smirked to herself as she sat at the desk in her classroom, she was getting more and more excited about the project that she had been researching, that project of course was something that most people would never dare to think about, let alone even attempt to start doing,

Bridging her fingers together, Briony looked at the entrance to the classroom and she waited for her students to appear, she was not very happy that many of them seemed to think that they could skive off of her lessons, and the next people to do that would recieve an official notice of detention.

They should be glad that it was just a detention as well, Briony could give so much more out, now that she no longer cared about the reaction of the Ministry to her actions.

Scrawled on the board was todays lesson topic;

'Serpent Sortia'

Veronica entered the classroom. With a sigh, she sat down and rubbed her eyes. Looks like she was a second year now.

She stifled a yawn and looked up at the board. She wondered what that spell did. If it was being taught by Professor Romain, surely it wasn't dangerous? Veronica flipped through a book of spells. Summons snakes. She blinked, closed the book, and instead waited for the rest of the class to arrive.

Briony sighed when she saw that there was only two people in her class, it was getting to be rather annoying now and she hoped that people would get their asses into touch and start showing up for the classes that she was running.

Otherwise what was the point in her being here in the first place? She would have been better off just staying in bed and having a nice cigarette than getting up for this.

"Hello srtudents, nice to see someone still bothers to show up for these lessons." she sighed with an annoyed tone to her voice "Today we are learning about the spell serpent sortia, do you know what this spell does?"

Briony nodded her head, the young Ravenclaw Melody often did get the answers right in class and she was often quiet, which suited Briony well enough as she didn't like her students to talk and chatter amongst themselves while she was trying to teach them duelling.

"Well done, 10 points to Ravenclaw" she smirked, before tapping her wand on the desk, activating a rune and summoning a dummy from the floor of the classroom, seeing it come to rest at the front of the class she smirked again.

"You will come to the front of the class, and cast the spell on the dummy, the snake will latch onto the dummy and from there I shall take care of the snake, now, you may come up to the front and begin."

"Serpent sortia,"Melody casted.The snake did latch onto the dummy and Melody wondered how the professor would get rid of it and if it was poisionous.

Briony flicked her wand out and quickly cast the counter spell to the one that Melody cast, it was a good example of the spell, however it was expected that the snake that it conjured was reasonably small, it corresponded to the amount of energy that the person held after all.

As soon as the snake was banished, Briony looked at the student and cast her a small swift smile, before letting the door to the classroom open gently, so that the students knew it was time to leave.

"Well done Melody, 10 points to Ravenclaw, the lesson is now over, thank you for your efforts students, please ensure to practice this spell as your homework."
