Needing a rest

Mirri hurried into her dorm room, threw her satchel at the wall opposite the door as hard as she could. Today had been a VERY frustrating day and all she wanted to do was crawl into bed and not get up the rest of the evening. Seems like classes were as hard to find as her sister. Her herbology teacher hadn't been there for the last three times she'd tried to get into the green house. That had been her favorite class last semester. There was something about plants and animals that she loved. She could feel their emotions and felt she could communicate her's to them too.

Not only that but she'd been caught going into the forest alone. Not a good thing, but sometimes she just had to get away, hike or find a tree to sit in to clear her head. there were just too many people, thoughts, and emotions around her to really think sometimes.

After feeding Oscar and cleaning up his area, she slipped into some shorts and tank top and did just what she had come up to do. Crawling into bed, she blew out the candle she had light for relaxation, pulled the duvet over her head and tried to sleep.

Othala happily jumped into the Risiko dorm, she had not many people living in the dorm with her and she had never really seen anyone in the room before, probably because she went to bed early and got up late, when most people would have left.

That was why she blushed and felt very awkward when she realised that someone was in there trying to sleep, she hoped that she hadnt woken them up because otherwise they might be very grumpy with her, and she didn't want to be shouted at.

So gently she tiptoed to her bed and slipped off her shoes, sitting on the comfy matress she wondered what she could do, she couldn't read becayse the light would wake the lady up, and she couldn't move around and tidy because that would disturb her too.

Sighing gently, Othala merely lay down on the bed and started to daydream.

"Hi, I hope Oscar didn't mess with any of your things today. I tried to clean up but he's in a mood to just undo what I clean. By the way my name is Mirri." sitting up Mirri smiled at the girl who had come into the room. She had seen her in the halls, but had never met her. Hoping that she didn't mind birds (or talkative girls) she turned on the gas lamp by the bed and sat up.

"If there's something you want to do feel free. I've just had a bad day and so I just needed to be along for a few minutes. Do you ever feel like that? Seems like today has just been pure nasty. Hope tomorrow's better".

Othala jumped a little bit when she heard the girl in the bed start to speak she had thought for sure that she would be asleep, but she wasn't and she was not bothered if she wanted to do anything, happy of this fact Othala pulled out her notebook and thought she would do some homework.

"Please meet you Mirri, I Othala Thormund, I no think that my things are messed up." she smiled gently and looked through her diary of things that she needed to do,

"I need do ancient rune homework, you take ancient runes with Florence?" she asked, tilting her head to one side as she asked Mirri the question, hearing she had a bad day, Othala nodded her head and pouted a little bit "I have those days sometimes, I normally like be alone too."

"No, I had signed up for herbology that hour but the teacher hasn't been there the last two lessons. I think that's whY I'm so frustrated. That was my favorite class, and now I have nothing to do that hour. I tried to take Oscar into the forest for a little flying, but got caught and that didn't go well. Sorry, about the mood."

She smiled at Othala and decided she should give her a chance. After all this wasn't home and Mother and Father couldn't say or do anything to stop a friendship if it should develop. It would be really nice to have someone to talk to.

"I have some licorice wands if you would like one to nibble on while you work. I've done my homework for the night so I thought I'd read. How is professor Florence for a teacher. The girls seem to think he's dreamy?"

Othala smiled softly and she didn't think that it was very nice of the professor to merely leave the class so early, and the Doctor not to get a replacement, she hoped that there would be a new teacher there for Mirri, it would make her happier, and surely that was a good thing.

"I'm sure that the Doctor will get another Professor for herbology, maybe the other professor get sick? Have leave?" she asked, running her hand through her hair and placing into a high ponytail.

When she mentioned some liquorice wands, Othala hopped off the seat and she wandered over to Mirri's bed; "I like a wand please. I no think he's dreamy, but he very nice." she smiled softly.

Smiling at her housemate, Mirri held out the bag of licorice wands. "I think the chocolate flavor are best. But I have black, pumpkin and starfruit. I am really hoping herbology picks up soon. I really like working with the plants, nature is my comfort when I get depressed. What classes are you taking?"
As she was talking she pulled out the biography of Severus Snape to read. She had heard all kinds of rumors about his time at Hogwarts. Maybe if she could learn about that school etc, she'd understand the war that seemed to going on. Her family was in England, and while she wasn't worried about her Mother and Father, she did worry about her younger sisters.
"What do you know about the war between Durmstrang and Hogwarts? I seem to get really confused when people talk about it. I don't even know what started it. My family is in England and I haven't heard from any of them in a long time."

Othala, when she heard about the different flavours of wands, couldn't help but blink and she took one that looked like it might be starfruit flavour, she hadn't ever had something that was this flavour before, it sounded like it would be really nice.

"Thanks for wand." she giggled before thinking about all the classes she had taken "I take transfiguration, history of magic, psychology and ancient runes! Although my transfiguration professor is no here no more."

When she asked her about the war between Britain and Germany, Othala frowned while she thought and then she shrugged her shoulders;

"I no know why it start, I could ask Doctor and then tell you if you want." she offered "I think that British Rebels cause most fights now, they are going to be arrested me thinks."
