Lesson Two - First Years Empty Lesson Two - First Years

Post by Richard Romain Fri Dec 30, 2011 2:49 am

Richard Romain was covering yet another lesson and he was not best pleased. To be perfectly honest the only reason he was doing so was because his wife, the Headmistress, had asked him to. That and he didn't want to see her even more overworked. So here he was in the History of Magic Classroom, waiting for his class to show up. Or, he hoped, the actual professor of the subject.

(OOC: Posting at midnight... Pardon the... short post)

"Hello professor." He said, and sat down at the back of the classroom. Darren was tired. TIRED. T_T

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Valentina hurried to her next lesson, she wondered just what they would be learning this time and hoped that it wouldn't just be a sit off lesson because that would make her incredibly irate when she had so many other things to do.

Smiling at Darren she slipped into the seat next to him and she gave a nod at her Professor who seemed to be covering an awful lot of lessons lately.

Getting out her things Valentina waited for class to begin.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Post by Richard Romain Mon Jan 02, 2012 5:15 am

Richard saw that one of the main students in the class was already yawning while the other one looked surprised to see him covering yet another lesson. He was surprised too. Sighing, Richard waved at the class,

"Hello, it's me again." he said casually, "Subbing yet again. Now today in History we're going to be talking about the first magical war between Britain and Germany. Bearing in mind that most muggle wars have had a magical counterpart, can anyone tell me what the first war might have been known to muggles as?"

Valentina raised her hand and she waited to be called on, she didn't know if the answer was correct but she thought it might be, after all it was a war between Britain and Germany.

"Sir? Was it World War One?"

Hoping that she wasn't wrong Valentina lowered her hand and blushed slightly, this was not the time to be developing a crush on this teacher, after all, she hadn't even taken his lesson! So...this is just illogical, smoothing out her complexion she smiled.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

She was late, she winced, but sat behind everyone else, the closest to the door, which would prevent her from getting too much attention. She heard the question, and hearing someone answered, she decided to simply study the room. It was dreary, but then again, this was technically her first class, and she wasn't going to miss anything.

She noticed the girl who answered for instance. She was blushing, was she nervous? She tilted her head but looked away, maybe she was shy, or...who knows, and who cared, she decided. Being nosy wasn't one of her usual traits so she instead paid attention to the professor who was talking about one of her favorite subjects.

Tabi didn't really understand why she had to take this class but then as a first year you are required to take many classes you do not like becasue they want you to learn so much. Once again she had gotten herself turned around and ended up being late to history of magic.

Tabi once again tried to slip in un-noticed but then realized she was not the only one running late today. She saw that girl..what was her name she tried to think as she had met her earlier in the dorms. Tess yes thats it. Tabi decided just to take the seat that was opened next to her glanced over gave a slight smile then turned her attention to the teacher.

Wait wasn't this the teacher she had earlier. Being the first day she was trying to get herself less confused.

She nodded her direction, acknowledging...what was her name? Ta-Tabi! She mentally patted herself on the back and looked back at the professor.

It seems that a lot of Slytherins are in this class, where are the Hufflepuffs and Gryfindorks? she thought to herself.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Pxyis knew she was running very late to her class, and yet still she was walking along at a leisurely pace, admiring Hogwart's. She began to hum a muggle tune from one of her favourite muggle bands, for she had found that Wizarding bands were becoming same old, same old, where as muggle music was different and refreshing. The door to her History of Magic class was in view, and still she walked slowly, in fact slower than before.
She was worried that she might get in trouble for being late- which wouldn't be very good. Adjusting the strap on her bag and wishing she knew the spell to make it weightless, but she didn't. She pushed open the door and stepped inside, back straight and head held high like her mother had taught her. Always look sharp, confident and alert, was her mother's motto.
Pxyis said nothing, and didn't even glance at the teacher as she went to the back corner of the room, dumped her bag by her desk and took her seat. She spied some girls that she had met in the dorms earlier. Tessi? Tebi? Pxyis frowned in thought, before the names came to her, Tess and Tabi.

Valentina turned when she saw that there were lots of new students entering the class, they might as well have not come since it was almost over but she turned to them anyway with a small smile and then back to the front, the lesson should be ending any minute now, so maybe she could get introdueced to some of the new Slytherins.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Post by Alice Carroll Lane Fri Jan 06, 2012 8:27 pm

Far too distracted to notice the time Alice found that she was extremely late to her first History of Magic lesson which was extremely frustrating.
"I don't know anything about this system and I shant be surprised they have a test next class." She muttered to herself.
The place was so very...magical (which was quite a silly description, she couldn't deny) and it got her mind stirring with thoughts and ideas.
She turned a bit pink when she entered the classroom late, the Professor standing at the head of the classroom already seemed to have long begun the lesson.
Quietly she settled into a desk in the back, she caught the eye of a girl who was turned 'round to glance at all the late comers. She flashed her a friendly smile.

Tabi was glad to see that she was not the only one that was late for class. The one girl up front in the class just looked back at us and smiled..Well what kind of smile was it tabi thought. Was it a nice of you to finally come to class, or was it one of those I got to class before you and your stupid smiles. Guess only time will tell and she would have to talk to her.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - First Years

Post by Alice Carroll Lane Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:15 am

Alice looked around a bit disappointed to see a sea of green colored uniforms and not a red one was spotted yet. There were so many Slytherins in the school. It wasn't so much that she wasn't dying to befriend them, she was more nervous about the rivalries between the two houses.

She smiled when she recognized Tess was in the class. Quickly she ripped some parchment from her book and wadded it up. She tossed it at the dark curled head of her acquaintance in hope to get her attention to wave in greeting.

She nearly jumped as she saw that there was something in her hair, and when she ran her fingers through it to figure out what it was. Seeing it was a piece of parchment paper, she tried discretely to turn back and see who it was.

She was surprised to see red and she couldn't help but smile as she saw Alice. She let out a tiny grin and was happy to know she was there. Though Alice turned out to be a Gryffindor, she wasn't surprised, after all, from how they interacted it seemed obvious.

She did hope that the professor hadn't noticed though.

Alice gave a discreet wave and flashed a smile back at Tess. She was glad that even though she had turned out to be a Slytherin, spot on with her prediction, that she was still being friendly. They were people after all with the same goal in mind. Even if she was wearing a shade of green instead of brilliant red.

Alice felt a little bad about tossing the parchment, after all she didn't want to get Tess in trouble. But what was life without a little risk. She'd have to greet Tess afterwards and meet some of the other students in the room. No harm in being amiable after all.
