Unrelated Incidents (Eva and Ace)

[Evangeline Webb]

Evangeline walked quietly through the woods surrounding Willow Lake, it was the place that she had met James not too long ago and she cast a thought to the other brother, wondering if his plight concerning Jack was as large as hers seemed to be. Her mowhawk rubbed against the leaves of the trees as she walked, but Evangeline barely noticed the tugging.

Her eyes were set on the scene before her.

Lying face down in the lake was a young girl, maybe about 13, and she seemed to have drowned in the lake not too long ago, her parents of course were nowhere to be seen, and so Evangeline assumed she had been out alone...

With a small sigh, Evangeline rubbed her hands above the body, gathering that all too familiar white powder at her fingertips, and automatically dispursed it, seeing it flying upwards she smiled gently. Tapping the forhead of the girl, her eyes flashed white, and it dissappeared, now nobody would know such a horrible incident, had befallen in such a beautiful place.

[Ace Black]

Ace had been longing to take a stroll out of the Department of Mysteries now. It was pretty hectic down there. Besides, the different departments ranged from freezing cold to scalding hot. He walked to the lake, as it was one of his favorite places of the country. He considered taking a dive when he noticed someone else's presence.

His eyes roamed the lake and landed on a petite shadow. A woman then. He started walking towards her and recognized her aura. Evangeline Webb. He smiled slightly. Maybe he got a chance to get to know the woman now. However, it was just typical that no matter where he went, job would follow, this time in the shape of a colleague.

Then he saw what she was doing. A girl, a young child. She was dead. And then she wasn't there anymore. Ace had always heard that Evangeline had a magic that no one else had. He grew curious and walked over to her.

"I'm hoping you weren't trying to cover your tracks," he said softly, looking at the spot the girl had been lying just seconds earlier.

Evangeline turned her head slowly to the man, Ace Black, and her silver eyes surveyed him with a cool curiosity, what was he doing here by the lake at the time that she was here? And must everyone witness her doing her job, she would have to look into making herself invisible while she performed her duties, it was becoming tiresome.

When he seemed to incinuate that she was covering her tracks, Evangeline's stoic expression didn't change, but a flare of anger rose up inside of her, she never killed, and would never take a life for as long as she was allowed to live.

"I do not kill, taking lives is for humans, I merely clean up the mess that you leave in your destruction." she muttered in a cool voice "What do you do here, you are named Ace Black, correct? You too work in the Department of Mysteries."
