Break down the walls (Rich and Bri)

[Richard Romain]

Richard had been preparing the walls, ceiling and floor of the basement for it's first use as the training room of the Romains. He had grounded wards around the walls and the ceiling so that any and all magic would stop about six inches before it reached the actual material of the walls and ceiling. He had left the floor so that it could be ripped up a little bit to add some flavour to their mini-duels. Sighing happily, Richard put his wand away in a nigh indestructable holster and waited for his wife.

She had been very stressed lately after all.

Briony grinned, she was glad that this fight was taking place in the basement of the house this time as opposed to the living room where her precious grandmother lay and she was ready to let it all out at her husband, who had oddly suggested this not long ago.

It was like he could tell that she was completely stressed out right now and she blinked her eyes as she got adjusted to the dark of the basement.

Smiling when she saw Richard standing there she took out her wand and flipped it from hand to hand while she nervously waited for him to be able to allow her to start, the basement was completely bare and she felt a little unnerved by it.

"Hey, are you ready love? Got your dancing shoes on?"

Seeing his wife decending into the basement, his own eyes much more adapted to the darkness than her own to begin with, he smiled faintly when he noticed how tense she was in her movements. She was obviously stressed up to her eyeballs and this was going to help her relieve that stress. He rolled his neck to loosen the muscles before coughing a little bit and concentrating.

His shirt, shoes and socks disappeared, leaving him only in his loose black trousers. Warming himself up, he bounced lightly from the balls of his feet to the tip of his toes, his balance uncannyily perfect. He grinned as his wife as he continued to bounce lightly on the spot,

"I'm ready for you babe..." he blew her a kiss teasingly, "Keep your eyes on the prize love."

Briony smiled and she couldn't help but look over her husbands body as it was exposed to me, it looked as though he had been working out recently, and was about to work out again, as this was going to be a pretty long training session Briony shrugged off hey leather coat.

"Okay then, I'm sorry if this is going to hurt you my love."

Catching the kiss that he blew her Briony then smiled softly and steadied her wand in her hand looking at Richard with a stern look in her eyes, she wasn't viewing him completely as her husband so she wouldn't have to see him hurt like this.

"Here I go."

Briony roared slightly and she took out her wand, sending out a barriage of spells that were non lethal but would sting a bit on impact, she tried not to hurt him but aimed for his arms and his legs.

"Sectumsempra! Reducto! Reducto! Crucio!"

Richard rolled his shoulders to loosen his muscles there and shook out his legs a little bit. He wanted to be nice and limber so that he could avoid as many spells as possible. Seeing his wife shrug off her leather coat, Richard knew that she was going to be coming at him seriously,

"Ah I'm a big boy." he teased her with a wink as he bounced on his toes energically, "I'll heal."

He closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath before breathing out steadily. He snapped his eyes open and adopted a hard and determined look as his body tensed up like a spring, ready to burst into energy,

"Give it your best."

The first spell, a rather nasty cutting curse, he dodged by moving two steps to the left. Reductor curse number one sailed past his left ear and reductor curse number two he had to spin to avoid. Gritting his teeth, Richard took the torture curse in the tip of his out-stretched hand. The pain was incredible but it was short lived as Briony had only sent it, not keeping it up. Gritting his teeth, he realised that it was his own fault. He made a motion with his hand,

"Again."

Richard looked like he was ready for the spells and Briony waited for him to dodge all of the ones that she sent at him, which he did for the most part, her heart slamming a little as she saw his face contorted in pain and made a note not to use that curse again.

Biting her lip Briony nodded, and she took a deep breath.

"Very well."

Narrowing her eyes Briony began to aim for vitals instead, her wand firm in her hand Briony took a deep breath and thought before she acted, an intelligent attack this time.

"Apugno! Lumos maxima!"

While Richard was dealing with the bright light and the birds from her charm Briony attacked again with more vicious spells:

"Bombarda! Reducto! Crucio! Crucio! Bombarda maxima!"

Richard cured himself quietly for not dodging the torture curse. Not because it had hurt him (it had but that didn't concern him) but because he had hurt Briony by being hit with it. It strengthened his resolve. He was not going to be hit. It was his new goal.

Frowning at her first choice of spells, Richard growled and closed his eyes immediately, reaching out blindly to snatch a pair of birds out of the air as they attacked him. Glad that he hadn't taken out any of the mass of birds, Richard opened his eyes in time to see them take the brunt of both the bombarda curse and the reductor curse. The two torture curses, Richard grinned ferally at. With a struggling bird in each hand, Richard held his hands up and seemingly caught the two quick torture curses in the palms of his hands. The spells destroyed the birds but by the time they had the power was gone from the spells, leaving him unharmed. At the last spell, Richard swore before diving to the left, turning it into a roll to avoid the attack that tore up some of the floor.

Briony saw that Richard was dealing with the attacks very well and she blinked as she saw him manipulating her own spells against her which was very smart of him, the torture curses being used on the birds made her shudders as did the look on Richard's face, that feral grin she loved so much.

With that she frowned and resolved to make sure that he had his work cut out for him, he wasn't about to get off so easy, yet the way he dodged the final curse made Briony smirk happily, she had him on the run.

"Corpus!"

Briony yelled as she threw a barrage of sharpened wooden stakes from her wand tip towards Richard, all aiming for vitals, lungs, heart and neck.

"Sectumsempra!"

Wave after wave of cutting curses were sent towards Richard and Briony growled, sending out two more waves of bombarda his way. Wondering if he would catch them them all Briony stood back with a look of intrest on her face.

The feral grin stayed in place in the brief aftermath of the barrage of spellfire. He loved to grin like this to Briony because he knew exactly what it did to her. He was rolling across the floor and yet he was still grinning the same grin.

Until the first wooden spike slammed into the ground beside him.

Swearing, Richard twisted his body out of the way repeatedly to avoid being impaled. Sliding to the side, he got away from four spikes, scraping by with only a slight cut to his chest. The darker cutting curse however made him groan as he was forced to dodge it by falling to the floor on his stomach. But when Briony unleashed two more bombarda spells his eyes widened and he swore when both curses landed pretty close to him.

The first one tore up the ground to his left but the second one slammed into the ground barely inched away from him. With the force of the second one, Richard was lifted up off the ground and tossed into the wall of the basement. Groaning as he pushed himself back to his feet, Richard ignored the way his chest was now peppered with small cuts from debris,

"Well now..." he spat out a small amount of blood from when he'd bit his tongue, "That was a good one."

Briony watched as Richard dodged the spells, it was pretty clear that it was getting harder and harder for him to do so and she was getting really quite worried about continuing with it, so instead she decided that she might as well have some fun with it.

"Sorry about that Richard..."

Wincing slightly as he spat up blood Briony's face probably showed it before breaking out into a large grin.

'Riddukulus!'

Sending a wave of the spell towards Richard Briony chuckled and thought of other spells that she could send to make this more light hearted.

'Tantalegra!'

And with a final cry of: 'Everte statum!' Briony looked at her husband and hopefully he wouldn't resent the fact that she had decided to make the duel a little more fun for a moment.

He chuckled a little bit and waved off her concerns. Opening his mouth to say something, Richard paused and reached down to take a slither of rock out of a deeper cut in his side. He sighed happily,

"That piece was really annoying..." he joked lightly before, once again, waving her concerns off, "Don't worry about it Bri, I just need to get quicker. Besides... we can always heal me later."

Wincing as he saw her reaction to the blood, Richard waved an eyebrow as she shot a boggart repelling curse at him. Of course what he didn't expect was for it to actually change his clothes, even if it couldn't change his body. He blinked a few times as he looked down at himself, now dressed in a very strange costume,

"Briony..." he looked at her, the costume restricting his movements, "Why am I in a giant muffin costume?"

Richard, who couldn't move his arms because he was wearing a very thick and round costume that looked exactly like a giant chocolate muffin, couldn't get out of the way and was hit by the dancing jinx. Immediately his legs began to dance and kick, unknowingly doing the riverdance when he was dressed like a muffin,

"Briony!" he called out in panic as he almost fell over several times, "I'm gunna fall over!"

Of course he didn't fall over because her next spell hit him and he went flying across the room. It wasn't until he hit the wall that he realised that the muffin costume was actually a real muffin. He fell to the floor, covered in chocolate and muffin but laughing happily,

"What on earth was that?"

Briony blinked slightly faster as she looked at her husband after she had sent the first spell his way and she bit her lip as she took in the view of him in a large muffin that made him appear like a walking advertisement for a bakery.

It also made him look less like a German sex god and more like...a cute little muffin fairy. If there were such things.

"Oh my god Richard..." Briony snorted

Letting her laughter out Briony doubled over and tried to stem the flow of giggles from her lips, after all, she had stunned her husband by the spell that she had used and it was also good for a nice laugh.

Unable to stop the laughter, it only getting louder, Briony pointed at Richard and cackled slightly as she saw him dance, slapping her knee with her hand, it was something that she didn't ever hope to see, Richard dancing in a large muffin costume.

"Hahahaha! You look ridiculous! You really do!"

When the costume split open Briony moved over to him and stroked his cheek:

"I decided to make things a little bit funner."

Richard pulled himself out of the muffiny mess with a smirk, seeing the humour in the spell combination as well. He frowned a little bit and picked a chocolate chip up off of his shoulder. Shrugging, he bite into it and swallowed the chocolate. He grinned happily,

"I taste good!" he joked before sticking his tongue out at her, "I'm glad you enjoyed that Bri."

He shrugged it off and tried to shake the muffin crumbs from his sweaty body. Very few of them came off. Frowning, he shook madly to try and get the crumbs off. He paused before remembering that he had a wand and cleaned himself. He rolled his eyes with a small smirk,

"A muffin? Really? I looked like some kind of riverdancing muffin fairy!" he joked before laughing happily, "I know the muffin man... I was the muffin man!"

Seeing that Richard was trying to clean himself Briony grinned happily it looked like he wasn't having a lot of luck with that so she just watched with glee in her eyes, after all, it was the point of the spell, he should have known what would have happened.

"Hey, you always taste good now you just taste of chocolate, both of which are pretty lovely to me."

Briony winked and watched as Richard shook himself, giving her the impression that he had just come out of a fresh kill, his muscles glistening in the light, his grin making him even more handsome.

Without knowing it Briony had bit her lip while surveying her husband and purred happily.

"I could have cleaned you up you know...but yes, a muffin, first thing that came in to my head I'm afraid."

Richard looked up at her comment about him tastiny good, smirking slightly. He chuckled a little bit as an idea came to him. He winked at her,

"Well maybe we can have fun with chocolate sauce at some point." he suggested with a small smirk, "I'm sure we can find lots of things to do... like dip marshmellows in it if nothing else."

As he was shaking himself free of all of the bits of muffin, Richard noticed that his wife was watching with rapt attention. He grinned a little bit when she protested to him cleaning himself with magic,

"Well... I'm always one spell away from being a muffin man again." he suggested with a happy laugh, "Well it's funny to me to. I'm just glad I wasn't a blueberry muffin actually."

Briony raised her eyebrow at Richards chuckle and then all became clear, it became very clear that he wanted to experiment with chocolate sauce...and various foodstuffs, and who was she to deny said experimentation.

"Okay I'm up for that, but, no banana's I hate those things!" shuddering at the mention of that horrible fruit Briony grimaced "Strawberries perhaps? Or will we save them for the cream?"

Unable to resist winking at this Briony smirked and was very very tempted to run her hands over Richards chest just to make completely sure that he has gotten all of the crumbs from every place on his body.

"Are you sure you got everywhere dear? There no little bit that might still have some crumbs left there?" she said teasingly.

Richard grinned a little bit before shaking his head with a small smirk. No, bananas in the bedroom was not a good idea. He didn't really like them either. Natural source of potassium or not, they were just nasty. He chuckled again,

"Mmm I like the idea of strawberries." he admitted before smiling, "Strawberries have to be with cream... it is what wimbleden teaches the world ja?"

Raising any eyebrow teasingly at his wife, Richard made a show of examining all of his body that he could see. He hummed and awwed for a few seconds before pretending to 'just notice' a few crumbs that we still in his abs,

"Seems I have missed some..." he teased with a wink, "Well they'll just have to be cleaned up."

Briony was unable to hold back a small chuckle, after all it seemed to be that Richard was getting more and more used to the English way of thinking about things, after all how many Germans talked about the traditions of Wembly?

Not very many. Not that she talked about it much either...to be honest.

"Maybe we shall have to see if we have any of them in for us, I'm a little peckish aren't you love?"

Pretending to innocently look at Richard's chest Briony spotted the 'crumbs' and nodded her head, her hands quickly flying to his skin to trace the smooth muscles that lay there, purring happily at the oil like effect that was present on the skin she grinned deviously.

"Mmmm there's lots of crumbs here, you're just so messy, I believe you could even say you were dirty. You need a shower."

Richard was actually pretty proud of himself right now. He'd remembered something about British culture! Pretty soon he might even be able to remember the capital of Wales. Of course no one he'd asked had really cared all that much, which Richard found to be a bit harsh,

"Yes... yes I think all this ducking, dodging and weaving has gotten me quite peckish." He kissed her lightly on the lips with a happy smile, "Sharing some strawberries sounds lovely doesn't it?"

Richard shuddered pleasurably as Briony ran her finger along his skin. Her skin was much smoother than his and he loved the way it felt against his own. He licked his lips at her devious look and chuckled lightly,

"You know what... I think I might be dirty." he winked at her, "Come on then, let's go have a shower."

Briony smiled happily, getting up from the floor and extending her hand to Richard to help him up also, she thought that it would be a good way to make up hitting him with a few choice spells, and strawberries are lovely after all.

"Well that sounds lovely, I shall get Kayla to go and fetch us some, and I think that we should make sure that we relax, we need heat charms so that our muscles aren't tense..."

Reaching back she squeezed her shoulders: "I know mine are."

With that Briony smirked and walked back up the stairs to the main body of the house, waiting for Richard to follow she shut the door to what she was now going to use as a panic room and watched it blend into the house undetected.

"I fancy a bath actually, what about you? I think that's more relaxing."

Happy that Briony was smiling so happily, Richard accepted her hand to help him up even if he did make sure that he got up mostly under his own power. His muscles were sore and there were quite a few cuts still but it was nothing he couldn't handle. It seemed to have loosened Briony up from all of her stress too and for that Richard was grateful,

"Yes... strawberries, cream and some heat charms for our aching muscles." he grinned happily and kissed her softly on the lips, "Sounds like we have a lovely evening of relaxation ahead of us my dear."

Richard followed his wife into the main house, watching the door seal behind them with mild curiosity. If others came round it might seem odd that the cellar had seemingly disappeared but it wasn't as if anyone really went to the cellar,

"A bath you say?" he smiled happily as he thought about it, "Warm water, heat to help relax muscles and I'll be snuggling with the love of my life! I love the idea of a bath!"

Briony was glad that they were just going to have an evening just the two of them, and by that, just having a quiet night in with some food and a warm fire like they had so often done at the start of their relationship, it was times like these that Briony believed that she had made the wrong choice in leading the school.

"Indeed, it sounds like we have a most excellent evening ahead of us. I'm looking forward to this bath, I might use some of those useless oils that someone gave me."

With a sigh Briony linked her hands with Richard and lead him upstairs to the main bathroom which was just off their room, it was surprising to her that a bath was already running for them...it must have been Kayla.

Proud to have such a wonderful house elf Briony rummaged around in the cupboard and found two bottles of oils.

"Would you like lavendar or rose?"

Richard was, admittedly, a man of rather simple tastes. He enjoyed spending time with his wife in anyway that the two of them could. It was a good day, a day spent with his wife just being together,

"It sounds like it will be most relaxing indeed." he agreed, kissing her lips softly with a happy smile, "We can take turns washing each other's backs right?"

Sighing happily as their hands linked together perfectly, Richard smiled happily. As they went into the bathroom, Richard made a mental note to give Kayla some chocolate or something. The little house elf seemed to like it and she did so much for Briony. Even if she did have a go at him for cleaning up after himself too much,

"Mmm... lavendar." He replied with a happy smile as he closed the door to the bathroom, "It's a relaxing smell right?"

It seemed as if both of them were eager to just have a nice relaxing night together and probably as she was thinking that Kayla was downstairs lighting the fire and getting the atmosphere all nice and cosy, and Briony made a mental note to give her some large messes to clean up.

"We most certainly can my love, with this new squishy sponge thing that I also recieved from one of my Ex-Professors by way of an apology."

Biting her lip Briony waited until the water looked hot enough to go in, dipping her arm in she mixed the water, upon finding it to be just right she sighed happily and turned off the taps with her wand.

Slowly she uncapped the bottle of oil and she poured the oil into the bath, swirling it around with her hand so that it mixed in properly, the smell was already lovely and relaxing.

"Yes indeed, it is supposed to relax you and make you sleep."

Richard had been looking forward to something like this for awhile now. Work at both hogwarts and the ministry had been tiring for the both of them so it was lovely just to spend time with Briony and relax,

"Ah I've heard of those things!" he smiled happily, "A muggle thing I think... well they'll make it a breeze! Which professor, may I ask?"

Waiting as his wife tested the waters and added the bath oil, Richard took a deep breath through his nose and sighed happily. The scent of the room was perfect right now, light enough not to be over powering but strong enough to be present. He kissed Briony lightly on the lips again,

"Well it'll make us more relaxed for the fire-side time later." he tested the water with a finger and smiled, "Just right!"
