Lesson One - All Years
The Doctor sighed a little bit as he stood between the stone circles of the runic array, above the underground classroom he usually used. Right now he was aimlessly twirling a runic stave, waiting the class to arrive so that he would be able to teach them and then go back to his work. Of course that wasn't what he really wanted to be doing. He wanted to be using the time after this lesson to have some fun with Othala, act like the father he wanted to be to her.
But he wouldn't.
He would shut himself away again because the thrice damned drums were getting louder and he knew what it meant. The threat that time itself was warning him about... was approaching. Soon the threat would be known to all. It would reach everyone with it's tendrils of fear and destruction.

Re: Lesson One - All Years
Dmitra walked into her first Ancient Runes class of the year, a light smile playing on her face. A seventh year at Durmstrang......whoa. Certainly not what she had imagined a couple of years ago, but interesting all the same. Besides, after the whole excitement last year, the summers were boring. Dmitra knew it sounded terribly boring as she admitted it, but the fact was that she was actually looking forward to classes. Dmitra shrugged, well, those were the side-effects of being ambitious and wanting to do something in life.
She sat behind her table, waiting for the Doctor to start. She had achieved top grades in Ancient Runes last term, and was hoping for the same this time too. Which meant, full attention in classes.

Lucian made his way to his class, although he was going to be a little later than he had planned he had been doing things that to be honest he had missed more than once during his relationship with Aquila, not knowing exactly what had happened, it had all been so quick, they had broken up and she had dissappeared in no time.
But that left him to be the way he wanted to be, and that was the best thing of all, not worrying about how someone would react to his nature, and not worrying about where he would find his next meal from. Now he could just take what he wanted when he wanted, especially considering he wasnt stuck in the body of a 12 year old any more.
Running his hands through his hair he sat down at his desk and smirked lightly as he got his things ready for the lesson ahead, hopefully he would be able to learn something new in this lesson, although he doubted it.

Re: Lesson One - All Years
Othala still hadn't properly gotten over what had happened between her and the Doctor, she didn't think that she ever would because he had been so horrible to her, although she was growing up she was still a child in many ways and she had thought that she was the one being the adult in their argument.
Sighing a little bit she wandered into the class, really not in the mood or looking forwards to it at all, but she knew that since her exams were coming up soon she should make an effort to pay as much attention as possible in classes. Otherwise she might get bad grades and it would be harder to get ahead in later years.
Taking out her things, Othala lined them up on her desk and waited for the class to begin.

Re: Lesson One - All Years
The Doctor noted that the students were here with only half of his attention. As always, half of his mind was on the sound that only he could hear, the warning that only he knew existed and only he really believed in apparently. He stopped his exercises with his stave and moved to the front of the classroom,
"Good morning students." he greeted them as he wrote down several runic symbols on the board, "Today we will be learning a strong shield rune array."
He knelt down and wrote the runic sequence out on the stone in front of him, making sure to keep the runes spaced well so that there was a cresent of a runic sequence in front of him,
"And..." he slammed his stave down on the ground. Instantly a bright blue shield snapped into place, "This is called a Cresent Shield Rune. You can fire spells out of it but spells can't go into it. Now when at full strength it is blue. When it is about to fail it turns red. Give it a try."
