[Humphrey Williams]

"Hey! Stop it Pxyis, can't you see he is embarrassed when you ruffle his hair or call him by nicknames?" he said, stepping in to defend his new friend Parker from bullying. He could not stand bullying in any way, shape, or form.

[Parker Emery]

He let out a small laugh. "Kid is not much an improvement either, you know." He realized how much less introverted he was then at the beginning of the year from all the friends he'd made, and especially because of Pxyis. "Maybe you can just come up with a more creative nickname- you're better then plain old Parky. Maybe I should come up with an obnoxious nickname for you too." He smiled at her then turned back to the snack table to fill a plate of food and his cup of pumpkin juice.

"Thanks. It just recently got sent to me actually. From me parents. No clue how they got it to me." He turned back around with his plate of food and drink when she ruffled his hair, smiling at her joke-mock tone. "I'm tired of standing around with all these people everywhere, lets sit."

When Humphrey cam over he gave him an odd look. Couldn't he see she was joking. Parker could certainly tell the difference between a joke and actually being pushed around since he'd been picked on plenty back at home. "Hey, i-it's okay, we're friends-"

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey shrugged, "If you say so Parker." and he walked back to his dance with Keiba. Time to rock this place!

Pxyis grinned. "Hmm, more creative nickname... sorry, my brain just can't do it," she said playfully, and when he threatened to come up with a nickname for her she giggled. "Go ahead. Just not Pixie... she called me that," Pxyis felt her eyes well up, but she blinked once and smiled again.

"Alright, let's sit. My legs are hurting anyway, and these heels," she motioned to her feet strapped in black stilletto's. "Are killing my feet," she moved to take a seat, when Humphrey leapt in front of Parker. She stared at him bewildered when he scolded her, but her temper flared.

"Bugger off, Humphrey. Can't you see im joking? Parker's my best friend, im allowed to have some fun with him!" Pxyis snapped, grabbing Parker's arm gently and dragging him over to a seat. She sat down with an annoyed 'humph' and crossed her arms, forehead creased in a frown as she scowled at Humphrey.

[Charlotte Smith]

Charlotte smiled softly as Airen asked if she wanted to dance with her father, she shook her head and squeezed his hand again, she didn't want to let go of Airen just yet, she didn't know who might swoop him up if she did.

"No, I would like another dance with you, if that's okay? I'm sure daddy can wait a few more minutes for a dance."

With a small frown she turned, saw Humphrey, took the piece of paper without a word and gave it to Cobalt to mind:

"Daddy will you mind that, I'll read it later if I remember, for now I just want to enjoy the company of you guys, it's awfully rude to begin reading in a dance after all."

A smile now on her face Charlotte looked around, the floor was busy now, but she didn't mind that really, seeing Pyxis she mouthed to her: 'You look beautiful!' seeing that she was already talking to Parker.

"So, may I have this dance?" she asked with a blush.

Victoria noticed Tess seemed preoccupied. So she excused her self to the girls bathroom. (OCC: I'm out for the night)

Their conversation was cut off because of Pxyis and she simply heard their conversations. She was surprised at how things had changed quickly, the whole dynamic of the students here. Pxyis hadn't even acknowledged her, something that surprised her, but she decided not to care, after all her mind was preoccupied and they were not that close.

"Excuse me" she murmured.

She decided that perhaps Victoria would be a good friend to talk to, so she sat down and waited for her, hoping for a better conversation than the one that was circling around her. She did hope that Alice would be joining, she missed her closest friend.

[Parker Emery]

"Go ahead. Just not Pixie... she called me that," Parker frowned a bit, then gave her a reassuring smile. "Fine, Not Pixie, I'll come up with something though."

At the mention of heels he groaned. "I don't know how you girls walk in those things. I'd break my ankle! Well- actually-" He let out a small laugh, embarrassed-but then was being pulled off by a ruffled Pxyis. Parker sat down at the table with her.

"Hey, why don't we invite Tess to sit with us?" Before waiting for her to reply, he motioned for her to come over. He just wanted to try to distract Pxyis from her temper. Plus Tess was nice and didn't want her to be sitting all alone, the other girl they were talking to could probably join them too. He knew he wouldn't be able to deal with many more people then that.

Pxyis smiled at Parker, mood lifted when he suggested Tess come over. She liked Tess, and wanted to make up for ignoring her in the dorm. That was when Pxyis realised something. SHe'd completely ignored Tess in the process of talking to Parker, had not even acknowledged her existence.

"I, am a terrible person!" Pxyis wailed, before beckoning Tess over with her hand. Her eyes then fixed back on Parker. She pursed her lips as she thought. "Parker, does it hurt your feelings when I... tease you?" Pxyis asked, fearing his answer.

[Humphrey Williams]

After he finished the moves like Jagger dance with Keiba, he realized that he was clear to go talk to Charlotte. He looked over and saw Charlotte dancing with Airen. But her father was holding the slip of paper and was currently reading the note on the back. "Keiba, I have something important to take care of, it might take a while so don't worry about dancing with other people and stuff. Bye." Humphrey said, and walked over to Charlotte's father. "Sir, may I have my paper back please. It was only intended for Charlotte to read. I have the deepest respect for you and your daughter. You, well, raised her wonderfully. She is fantastic. I wanted to go with her to the ball, honestly, but I asked the first friend I made on the Hogwarts Express on the way here first, and she said yes. We are just friends, I actually have feelings for Charlotte. But she thinks that I went with my friend because I didn't want to go with her." He could feel the tears welling up in his eyes and spilling over onto his cheeks. "It isn't true, I-I wanted to go with Charlotte. Please believe me. She just misunderstood me. I swear it!" he explained to Charlotte's father, Professor Smith. He was sobbing quietly now, missing Charlotte and now extremely embarrassed.

[Haley Vilde Smith]

Haley narrowed her eyes at Humphrey playfully, even though she was pretty annoyed.

"Humphrey, the name is Smith. Not Weasley. Honestly. Where on earth did you get that from?" she asked with big eyes.

Then she noticed that Parker and Pyxis had gone to sit down. She sighed. She wanted to dance. Where was Keiba anyways? She had excused herself to get something to eat, but where had she gone now? Haley sighed.

Then she dumped down next to Parker and Pyxis. "Sorry to intrude, you guys, but you're about the only ones to talk to right now," she said sadly.

Then she grinned. "How are you liking the ball?" she asked them both.

[Humphrey Williams]

"Sorry Haley, it is just you made me think of Ginny for some reason. Really sorry." he said to Haley Smith.

Pxyis looked up when Haley sat down beside them. "It's fine. The more the merrier, to me anyway," Pxyis shot a sideways look at Parker, knowing he was un-comfortable around lots of people. "It's alright," Pxyis then proceeded to say in answer to Haley's question, but she was beginning to feel a tad sad. She really wanted to dance, but who was there to dance with?

She was positive that Parker wouldn't want to dance at all, and the only other boys she knew would be too busy trying to/ dancing with Charlotte. Pxyis almost smiled when she thought of Charlotte. She was such a boy magnet, it made her want to laugh. "Are you enjoying the ball, Haley?" Pxyis responded.

[Jacqueline Girard]

Jaqui laughed as Lucia said she didn't mind it most of the time. "I'd get bored, but that's because I prefer ze outdoors," Jaqui told Lucia. When she was invited up to the table with Sofia, Jaqui smiled. Perhaps she could make some friends.

"Of course, eet would be a pleasure," Jaqui responded with a wide smile.

[Humphrey Williams]

He waited as Charlotte danced with Airen and took deep breaths. Very slowly, the tears slowed and then stopped. He wiped his tears on the back of his hand. The song had ended, and he moved into Charlotte Smith's path. "Listen Charlotte, this is important." he said taking out the piece of paper. He turned it so the portrait of her in the ball gown was facing towards her. "I drew this for you, because I noticed that you were jealous of Keiba. There is Nothing happening between Keiba and I. We are just friends. I like you, not her. There is a bunch of reasons why on the back. But clearly you don't even value what I have to say to even glance at it. If you had you would have known there was a drawing of you on it. Don't you even care about me at all? I thought you did..." he said, crying again. "I-it doesn't matter anymore. You clearly prefer Airen to me. I'll leave you two alone." he said. He gave the paper to Charlotte and turned away, the tears falling thick and fast down his face and onto the cold stone floor that didn't feel nearly as ice-cold as his heart did at that moment. He rushed back to the table with Keiba, Haley, Parker, Tess, Pxyis, and he took a seat. He put his head down on the table and cried until he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"What!?" he snapped, quickly raising his head. "Just leave me to my misery, please." he said. The tears had blurred his vision so he could not recognize who it was who had placed their hand on his shoulder.

[Haley Vilde Smith]

Haley's face burst into a grin. "As in Ginny Weasley? Aw, I dig you too, Humphrey," Haley said with a big, happy beam.

Haley smiled at Pyxis, but noticed the sideway glance at Parker. She frowned; was she intruding on something? She sighed, and hoped she wasn't in the way or anything.

"Well, I am enjoying the ball a lot, really, but I would really like to dance, you know. But honestly; do you see a crowd?" Haley asked, pointing in the general direction of Charlotte with a big grin; Haley wasn't one to get jealous, and relationships were really nothing to her. Seriously, she was only eleven.

Then Humphrey came crying over and Haley frowned. She sighed. "Humphrey?" she asked, putting a hand on his shoulder. He snapped at her.

Haley's frown deepened. "Honestly, Humphrey, I'm trying to be nice. Appreciate that, or don't bawl," she said. Then regretted it. "Okay, sorry, that was a bit harsh. Hey, do you wanna dance or anything?"

[Humphrey Williams]

"Y-y-yes, I'd l-love to." he managed to choke out between sobs. This Haley Smith was really very nice, and he hoped he wouldn't embarrass her too bad with his crying. "I love dancing, but it will take a while for my eyes to stop being red and puffy from the crying. Sorry, about the eyes and crying, I know it is embarrassing. It is just...well, Charlotte. I thought...well, never mind. You probably aren't interested in my relationship problems." he explained. The music playing was a slow song, he was grateful for that, otherwise he would never have been able to dance in time with the music, because of what had just happened with Charlotte.

[Charlotte Smith]

Charlotte sighed, she walked over to Humphrey and smiled apologetically at Haley, the Hufflepuff girl who had just had her head bitten off by him for asking if he was okay, this was not going to be something that she was going to enjoy.

"Listen Humphrey, you can't expect me to be rude and to ignore my partner to read something that you gave me when we were about to start dancing, it's very rude. So I gave it to my father for safe keeping until there was a time that I could read it."

Frowning a little bit Charlotte took her hand off his shoulder:

"Now, what are you crying for? Airen asked me to the ball and I was more than happy to accompany him, you didn't ask me so you brought another date. That's all Humphrey. Please do stop crying."

Patting him on the shoulder Charlotte glanced back at Airen and bit her lip, she definately needed to talk to him about all of this, because it was more than a little confusing for her:

"You're making this awfully difficult for me Humphrey, I just wanted to have fun with Airen tonight and now you're crying, this is my first proper date and you're spoiling it just a bit. Just because I came to the ball with Airen does not mean that I don't care about you, why can't you just see that!"

Fuming Charlotte decided that this ball was all too much hassle and she turned on her heel, and made towards her Daddy and Airen:

"I'm just going to go, home. I shouldn't have come at all it was a stupid idea to want to have a date and be happy and be a princess for a day, I'll speak to you guys later."

Charlotte pecked Airen on the cheek and made to leave the hall.

[Humphrey Williams]

"Charlotte, I believe you promised me a dance. Are you going to keep your promise?" Humphrey asked her after starting to dance with Haley Smith. "Well...?"

Pxyis was completely stunned by everything that had just happened, but as Charlotte stormed away Pxyis felt it was her duty as a friend to make sure she was okay. "I'll be back," she told Parker, before jumping up and trailing after Charlotte as she made to leave the hall. She had managed to get the hang of her small heels, and was now walking quite comfortably.

"Char!" She called as the girl almost reached the door to the Great Hall, and she hurried over to her and grabbed her arm gently, spinning her around to face her. "Char, I saw and heard what happened. Are you okay?" Pxyis asked softly, letting go of her arm and instead hugging Charlotte gently. "Humphrey's a weirdo, don't be afraid to let him down the hard way." Pxyis told her, hoping to make her laugh a bit.

[Charlotte Smith]

Charlotte turned around, her hair bright red and glared at Humphrey, she couldn't believe he had the cheek to ask something like that after the show that he had just put on.

"No! I will not be keeping that promise! SO much for the fact that you 'love' me you LIAR. If you loved me you'd follow me and see if I'm okay but NO you're dancing with another girl. Which is fine by me Humphrey. FINE BY ME."

She yelled.

When Pyxis came after her Charlotte hugged her and rested her head on her shoulder, she really needed a girl to talk to about all of this, they might be able to help her a little better than talking to a boy.

"No I'm not okay Pyxis, I don't know what to do and I'm so confused, and then he just acts like that in front of me? It's ruined the ball for me all I wanted to do was have a nice time with Airen, I made my dress specially and everything and now it's ruined."

She sniffled, blinking rapidly to hold back tears.

[Haley Vilde Smith]

Haley took Humphrey's hand and led him to the dance floor. Then Charlotte came walking over and told everything. Haley smiled to her. Charlotte really seemed like a great person. Then she turned to Humphrey.

"See, everything is not as lost as it would seem," she said with a smile, "Just make sure not to ruin her ball another time. I really think she needs to have some fun, whether it is with you or someone else. Just remember that if you really like her, then be happy when she is, and defend her when it is needed."

Haley smiled and then sighed. "Maybe we should dance some other time, Humphrey. As of now, you're in a chase you obviously cannot afford to lose," she said calmly.

Then she walked back to the table, noticing that Pxyis had left.

Haley sighed. She sat down next to Parker, and took a deep breath, letting it out after a few seconds. "Lord, I hate drama," she said annoyed.

She wanted Humphrey to be happy, but she really didn't want to meddle in his business. She just didn't care that much. She had enough problems of her own if she needed so many more herself. She really needed to start learning to stay away from any kind of drama.

[Humphrey Williams]

"Charlotte!" he yelled after her. Haley had let him go after her. Thank goodness her kindness. "Hold up, I need to say something. Pxyis, can I have a minute with your friend. You can time me if you want?" he said. "I need to make something clear to Char here." he said with determination.

[Haley Vilde Smith]

Haley smiled as she watched Humphrey run after Charlotte. She just hoped he wouldn't go hurting her feelings. Haley sighed. Well, now it was out of her hands.

[Lucia Henley]

Lucia grinned at Jaqui and they both walked up to the table, back to where Sofia and Horst, who had finally decided to join, were sitting. She sat down and smiled. "I suppose you know each other's names? But Horst is our new librarian. Horst, this is Jaqui, the CoMC professor," Lucia said with a smile.
