Highmaster Vs. Headmistress (CLOSED)

[Briony Romain]

Briony growled and she threw aside some of the rubble that was pooling around her on the floor and she made a note that this was going to be a fight to end all fights, between Highmaster and Headmistress.

Pointing her wand at the man she smirked:

"You really are a hypocrite you know, and for that, and the crimes you have commited against children, the Ministry of Magic licences me, to do this."

Briony flicked her wand in the air:

"Avada kedavra! Crucio!"

Waiting a moment as those spells were sent Briony gathered in the shadows aorund the hall and began to have them swirl around her hands in case she needed to use them in the fight. Which she would.

"Make your move you pathetic little man."

The Doctor remained as stoic as ever on the outside but on the inside he was dying a little, especially when he saw the body of a student in the rubble he was moving. He knew that he was going to have to be serious immediately otherwise Briony would kill him for sure. That being said, the TARDIS was out of the question,

"Crimes against children?" he raised an eyebrow, "The only 'crime' I have commit is that of education. If any died from the falling debris then it is merely your fault for not providing ample protection."

The Doctor's eyes narrowed as the two unforgivable curses sped his way. The Germans had also been given licence to use the unforgivables if needs be but The Doctor wasn't going to stoop so low. Instead he slashed with his wand, bringing chunks of rock up from the ground to block both curses. Raising an eyebrow at being called pathetic, The Doctor raised his runic stick and most of large chunks of rock began to float in front of him. He thrust his staff forward,

"Expulso!" he declared, sending dozens of large rocks at Briony.

Briony growled, she was very short temptered so you might have expected at having her school invaded and being torn to peices in front of her eyes, sighing she decided she would stop trading low blows and looked around at the rubble.

"You have killed this child. If you weren't here. She would be alive. She would be alive and enjoying the ball I have put on for them. That is your doing not mine Nettle."

Looking carefully at the chunks of floating rock Briony dodged out of the way of most of them, casting a quick 'reducto' for the rest, he was going to have to try much harder than that to get a hit on her.

"Bombarda!"

Hoping to distract the Doctor Briony flicked her wand and cried out:

"Serpant sortia, engorgio!" and watched as a large snake now appeared out of her wand tip, landing in front of Nettle.

The Doctor glanced at the small child again before looking back at Briony with a sad expression breaking through his stoic mask. True enough, The Doctor was willing to fight to take Briony down but he hated to kill. He blinked once and his stoic mask slipped back into place,

"History will absolve me." he told Briony firmly, "As a time traveller I know this best of all. In years to come my actions will be seen as justified."

Seeing that his rock throw attack was completely destroyed rather quickly, The Doctor produced a stronger than average protego shield to take the hit of the blasting curse. Lowering the shield, The Doctor watched as a small snake quickly became a huge snake as it barrelled towards him. Raising his staff, he pressed a rune for force and thrust it at the snake. An invisible blast of force slammed the snake into the wall,

"Incendio maxima!" he declared, a bright stream of fire burning the snake alive before he turned to Briony in a flash, "Stupify! Reducto! Repulso! Bombarda maxima!"

Briony was not saying anything in a baiting manner, she was stone cold furious at the Doctor, for bringing this upon a child. A child of eleven who had come here to learn, that was somebodies daughter he had just killed.

"Your actions may be forgiven by others, but will you ever forgive yourself? Killing an innocent who's only crime was being British and in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Hissing a little as the snake was destroyed Briony summoned a large protego sheild, she knocked the spells off to one side and she stood there looking at the man for a moment, he was a walking paradox, who was picking a fight with the wrong girl.

"Im telling you now Nettle. Give up. You won't win this fight."

Briony raised her wand, saving her shadows for a later date, and she growled out:

"Sectumsempra! Stupify! Stupify! Reducto! Avada Kedavra!"

The Doctor's cold mask was on so he didn't visibly react in anyway to what Briony was saying. Of course, he would have probably flinched and looked sorrowful if he could show his true feelings but with the mask on that was not an option. He merely stared Briony down,

"Of course not." he replied firmly, "I won't forget a single face. But the world will be a better place in the end."

The Doctor watched as she dealt with all of his attacks. To be fair he knew that such non-lethal spells were very unlikely to actually hurt her but he had to try. After all, he didn't exactly want to go against orders and kill her,

"You seem very sure of yourself Miss Blake." he replied without emotion, "I will win this little battle. And I'll do it without ever aiming to kill you."

The dark cutting curse, he avoided by ducking under it, sending a stunning spell back in return in the same movement. Casting a spell to form a shield on the back of his left hand, The Doctor batted both of her stunning spells away. The reducto curse he jumped backwards to avoid and he twisted to the right to avoid the killing curse. The Doctor waved his wand to conjure a quick notes quil, which was hidden behind a pile of rock. Waving his wand, he gritted his teeth,

"Fiendfyre!" he called out, a large burst of the cursed fire speeding towards Briony. Of course she'd dodge so he fired stunning and blasting curses either side of where the fire was heading.

Briony smirked and shook her head, a world lead by a pacifist was a traumatic world indeed, there would be anarchy and war within months, let alone a harmony that he so wanted to generate between them. After all, they would be British no matter what.

"The world can never be a better place it goes against the way of the world, it's cruel and cold, these children will realise that now."

That made her twitch, she growled a little and that shadows swirled around her feet as she stepped forward towards the Doctor, if she got close enough physical attacks could be used.

"It's Romain. Briony Romain. Your records are misinformed."

At the use of fiendfyre Briony hissed a little, she dodged the main blast of the fire and sharply moved her arms up in a movement that manipulated the shadows to follow her making a sheild around her body so she wouldn't be hit, dispelling this she smirked.

"That all you got?" she asked, bored.

Briony lifted up her hands again and the shadows corresponded with her, shooting a hand out the shadows shot forward swiftly, heading towards the Doctors arms and legs to affix him in place to the floor and render him unable to move.

At the same time she flicked her wand and shouted:

"Imperio! Immobulus! Bombarda maxima!"

The Doctor could tell that Briony was less than enthused with his vision of the future but to be fair to her she hadn't seen it unfold the way he had. He'd seen what the horrors of war could do... they could build up peace,

"If that were the case then all children would be, as Viktor says, better dead before they could lose their innocence." he replied quietly, "Your vision is flawed Blake."

He raised an eyebrow at her moving forwards and noted, with satisfaction that the quick notes quil had finished it's work on making a runic barrier a few inch in front of him that would stop physical attacks or movement. If she moved across the very faint line she'd be unable to move for a second,

"Strange." he replied, "Raven specifically mentioned that you were unmarried. Nevermind."

The Doctor raised an eyebrow when the headmistressed used the shadows themselves to block his attacks. He merely shook his head slightly at her attitude,

"If I attacked with all of my talents you'd be dead by now."

Seeing the shadows racing towards him, The Doctor accurately estimated that he did not want them to reach him. Pointing his wand at them, a burst of very bright light weakened the shadows until they couldn't hold him at all. Unfortunately he then noticed the spells coming his way. Swearing, The Doctor dodged the unforgivable and the immobulous but was unable to fully avoid the blasting curse. Rolling away, with his right side now mildly burnt, The Doctor thrust his staff at Briony, sending a blast of force at her like he'd done to the snake,

"Reducto!" he roared, over-powering the spell massively so that it tore up some of the floor as it raced towards Briony, even if it did mean he had to take a few deep breaths after casting it.

Briony smirked, well Raven would say that wouldn't she, after all she was desperate to try and get back with her, after this, the only way shed get near Briony is with her demise shortly following afterwards, which wasn't such an unrealistic view.

"She would say that. But no. I am married. I hope if you have a special lady she doesn't expect you back in one piece."

Raising her eyes Briony chuckled, the comforting weight of the philosophers stone resting against her chest, well out of sight but she could feel it, she knew, the limitless energy it provided meant she would win this fight.

"I have no doubt your forces are great Nettle. You wouldn't be Highmaster if they were not, but paper is easily destroyed, runes are easily distorted."

With that Briony hissed, her shadow attack weakened, the large curse sent her way stunned her for a moment before she spun out of the way, getting buffered by the shock wave it gave off and she growled slightly.

Summoning the shadows to her eyes to blind her for a moment, her other senses sharpened and Briony yelled:

"Lumos maxima! Apugno! Crucio! Avada Kedavra!"

The light and bird spell were merely a distraction for the more dangerous spells but Briony sent out a barrage of cutting curses after these, aimed for the sides of the Doctors body, absorbing the shadows into her own skin.

The Doctor made a mental note to never again take information from Raven at face value. The woman was good but she was just too... unreliable. At the mention of a special lady, The Doctor stiffened slightly more and his eyes narrowed,

"I won't die today..." he hissed to her in a rare display of anger, "Especially not to someone like you."

All of what she said was valid. The Doctor knew that if it were to come down to a straight fight, wand against wand, then Briony would win everytime. But the fact of the matter was that this wasn't a straight fight,

"Flattery will get you nowhere my dear." he replied quickly, "But shadows will wane at sun's first light."

He noticed the fact that Briony's eyes slowly became blank. The Doctor growled underneath his breath and closed his eyes tightly against the light spell. Of course it still stung his eyes. The birds, he burnt to a crisp with a quick incendio, leaving two very nasty spells coming straight at him. The Doctor took the only option to him and dove to the right. But Briony had sent cutting curses in that direction and he took more than a few to the torso before he sprang up with the roll,

"Crucio!" he roared, firing the torture curse at Briony. It would be a shock that he was using the curse at all and he was hoping the shock would be enough, "Defindo! Reducto! Expulso!"

Briony raised her eyebrows and looked at Nettle, she wondered just what he meant by that, after all, he was the one who had brought the fight to children, and she was sure that any self respecting woman wouldn't have done that, some maternal instincts or whatnot.

"Someone like me? Someone defending their school and it's pupils? Or someone happily married who's partner isn't going to be angry with them when they get back for killing an 11 year old?"

Chuckling Briony looked around, it must be about one in the morning, luckily for her, the first light was nowhere near, and even then, it would take only the strongest light to render her powers completely useless.

Dimming her shadows so that they couldn't be seen, Briony moved them towards the Doctor, she let them hang in a delicate spidersweb in front and behind him, if he stepped forwards or backward he would be trapped.

"I'm not intending to flatter. I'm being truthful."

Briony grinned and she widened her eyes a little at the use of crucio, the Doctor was sinking into what he didn't want to become, a monster, but he couldn't help it, that was what he was, a murderer and a killer.

Rolling away Briony cast up several protego charms knocking them to the side, away from her.

"Now now Doctor, you're getting a little desperate aren't you? Fiendfyre!" she roared and a large snake erupted out of her wand tip.

The Doctor frowned slightly. To be fair he really wasn't liking what he was doing here but it was all under orders so there was nothing he could do about it. And, he knew, it would all turn out for the better. In time,

"I think you may be confused as to who is the desperate one here." he replied coldly as he gripped his runic staff tightly and jabbed it forcefully at the fiendfyre snake, "Fus!"

The same attack he'd sent at Briony twice now, the formless force attack, rocketted from his staff to meet the fiendfyre snake head on, stopping it in it's tracks. Growling, The Doctor conjured his own fiendfyre, in the shape of a smaller snake. Spinning his wand rapidly, his snake followed his orders, circling Briony's faster and faster. With his own fiendfyre using up all of the oxygen in the area consumed by fire, Briony's fiendfyre went out. The Doctor cancelled his own,

"Please do try and keep me entertained Headmistress." he drawled, "Incarcerous!"

Briony raised an eyebrow and she watched as the Doctor use the same force that he had done on her, it must be something to do with the runic staff that he was holding, it would be imperative for her to get it away from him now.

Frowning as he fiendfyre was cancelled out, Briony stepped into a battle stance and she took out two throwing knives, attatched to each was a small vial of exploding potions.

Throwing one in the direction of the Doctor then one high into the air Briony shouted:

"Engorgio!" making the knife and poision about ten times bigger, and when it fell, it would make a hell of a crack in whatever it was it was about to hit.

Deciding not to rise to the Doctor's baiting Briony tapped a tattoo on her arm, activating the call for all the men she had in her contracts to come immediately to her side. It would be a few minutes, ten at the least, until they were here.

Her shadow trap still in place Briony deicded she would use some magic to try and make the Doctor step into it.

"Diffindo. Ascendio! Wingardium leviosa! Everte statum!" anything that could move the man she threw at him "Bombarda! Avada kedavra! Ascendio!"

Hoping that the avada kedavra would be masked Briony grinned, she knew she would win this match.

"No Doctor, I think it is you that needs to keep me entertained, I can go on like this forever? But can you?" she smirked.
