An Arty Sytherin (OPEN)

Zara walked into the Slytherin common room, plonking herself down on the couch. She'd had a big day, running like a headless chicken around the school grounds trying to get to her classes on time.

Zara reached down to her bag and grabbed out a sketch pad and a small pencil case. Without having to think for one moment, Zara began drawing the only thing she really likes to draw. A wolf. Her whole sketch book was full of drawings of wolves. Occasionally she would draw the night sky, but she didn't really have the chance to since she didn't have a good view of the sky in the Slytherin common room.

Charlotte had decided that it was probably time to do done relaxing in the common room after spending about two hours making sure all her homework was done so that she could have free time during the weekend, she just hoped that she wouldn't get any more.

Seeing that there was already someone in the main area, Charlotte smiled slightly, feeling a little bit shy because she didn't think that she had ever talked to this girl before.

With that Charlotte moved over to her and smiled shyly, it was an opportunity to make new friends and she hoped she wouldn't screw it up.

"Hello, Uhm, do you mind if I sit with you?"

Zara looked up from her sketch pad to see a girl with long blonde hair. Zara had noticed the girl in some of her classes but she'd never spoken to her before. "Yeah, sure" Zara said with a welcoming smile.

Zara noticed the girl seemed a little bit shy. "I'm Zara by the way" she said.

Charlotte was encouraged by the friendly nature of the girl that she had asked to sit with and she smiled more fully at her as she went to sit down on the seat opposite her.

"Thank you very much."

With a slightly larger smile Charlotte was glad to finally meet her classmate formally, now recognising her from a few of her classes.

"I'm Charlotte Smith, it's a pleasure to meet you Zara!"

Deciding not to peek, Charlotte merely gestured at the sketchpad: "Do you like to draw?"

"Yeah. It's one of my favourite things to do in my spare time. Usually I just draw brief sketches of wolves and stuff. My mum was an artist so I kind of learned from her" Zara said, casually flipping through the pages of her sketch pad. "You can have a look if you want" she added, holding out the book.

Charlotte smiled happily, it was nice to meet someone else who was interested in art to any degree, even if they didn't really do all aspects of creation like she did herself.

"How lovely! It must be nice to have someone to inspire you like that, and art itself is a very good medium to channel your inspiration."

Gently Charlotte took the sketchbook and looked through it carefully and smiled softly, the drawings were really good, and wolves were one animalthat Charlotte always found beautiful.

"You're a great artist, you know, I'm an artist too, although I don't draw wolves all that often."

A large grin grew on Zara's face. It was nice to meet someone who liked drawing as well. "Really? That's great! I'd love to see some of your artwork sometime" Zara said, with a friendly smile.

Charlotte smiled too and thought of a piece that wasn't going to make her look bad, because she did have some pieces where the centre piece or the focal point was kind of skewed and they were more risqué pieces.

"If you'll wait a moment I'll go and fetch one now!" she said happily.

Jumping up she rushed to the common room and got out her recent sketch of her and Cobie, bringing it down to the common room so that Zara could see it, it was a nice picture in her opinion, a plain pencil sketch.

"Here, this is one I drew recently, it's of my papa and me, I don't know if youve seen him around the school."

"Alright. Take you're time" Zara said as her new friend left to go get her art. Zara waited, quite excited to see Charlotte's drawing.

As Charlotte entered the common room, Zara sat up in her seat. She took the artwork gracefully and examined it. Her eyes lit up. It was amazing. "This is so beautiful! You're such a good drawer, Charlotte!" She exclaimed.

Charlotte blushed lightly and was afraid that her hair was going to turn pink, but thankfully it didn't and she just sat there beaming happily to herself, glad that her artwork was liked.

"Thank you so much Zara, I tried hard on that one because I'm hoping to give it to Papa as a birthday present."

Brushing aside the compliment because she was still not used to them, Charlotte rubbed the back of her head sheepishly.

"Awwh I'm not that good, Ive had lot's of pratice, how long have you been drawing for?"
