Re: Special Herbology Lesson: First AND Second Years together for final lesson

Tess knew her way towards the Dungeon but she never knew that there was any form of Devil Snare. She realized that it was because it was towards a different direction she'd never gone before. She remembered vividly how when she had gone to save Parker with Victoria they had crossed the bridge, but she'd never notice the door.

As Professor Del Sol asked her question she raised her hand. She knew this answer, for the last lesson had prepared her for this one. She smiled once being picked and began to answer:

"Devil's Snare is a plant with the magical ability to constrict anything in it's surroundings, especially when they try and touch it. The reason that the plant is dangerous is that once someone is within their grasp, they will squeeze and squeeze the more you resist it's grip. It constricts more and more until either one manages to relax, or dies of asphyxiation"

Lily smiled hearing Miss McCartney speak and nodded at her long explanation. She sometimes wished that she would sound less like a textbook and more like she was saying this with care. But alas, it was rare to find someone who loved and appreciated Herbology.

"Good Miss McCartney ten points to Slytherin"

Gripping the doorknob her cheery disposition disappeared and seriousness was all she could show on her face.

"I am taking you here because you need to realize the dangers of plants, one can simply eat you and digest you before you even blink, others throw poisonous darts towards you. But Devil Snare, it wraps you like a snake would and as Miss McCartney said, it squeezes and squeezes until you lose all signs of life."

She tried to trust her students, they needed to know better she taught them all she could and this was their exam of sorts.

"Now...there will be two methods. I'd like for you to partner up. Next one will volunteer to enter and allow themselves to be wrapped up by the Devil Snare, if you relax it should let you go. If you succeed good job, but if you don't, you're partner will save you with a simply Bluebell flames charm or the Lumos Solem."

She realized that some might now know if they learned the latter so she explained.

"The Lumos Solem, you clearly say LOO-mos SO-lem. Is that clear? Now please pair up and when ready, tell me so I allow you in"

Victoria was excited to learn practical magic. It was one benefit of this class. She had read about Devil's Snare in a book about the Golden Trio. Everyone in History of Magic had known about them so she had done some research and had been really interested in the different obstacles that they had to go through to get the Sorcerer's Stone.

She turned towards Tess, as always. "Would you like to try the plant first or the spell?" She was up for either, but figured she'd give Tess the option of choosing.

Tess smiled immediately knowing who her partner would be. As much as she liked Xander she didn't really trust him as much as she trusted Victoria. She was a good spell caster, at least that's her opinion based on their own team up.

"Yeah I don't mind getting squeezed first" she said smirking.

She could do it, she'd meditated before, but she was nervous as to how different it would be if she got scared, but that's why Victoria was there, to keep her safe.

"Professor Del Sol? We're ready" she said.

She took a deep breath and straightened her posture, she was not going to chicken out, it wasn't like her. So she looked at Victoria gave her a wide smile and waited to be let in.

Haley turned to Parker, wondering if he'd want to partner up with her. "You in, Parker?" she asked with a smile.

She was a bit worried, but she had used the lumos spell before and she knew she could do it.

Tessa just stood there. She knew that she had to find a partner, but she really didn't know anybody in the class. And by the sounds of it, you would have to be able to see your partner. Which Tessa really couldn't do. There was some days that she hated it that she was blind. But sometimes it was a blessing. She just stood there waiting.

Leshia had to find a partner and noticed across the room that Tessa had taking Herbology so she went over to Tessa and thought she would ask.

"Hay Tessa its Leshia, I notice you don't have a partner, well I don't either. Would you like to work with me?"

Tessa smiled a little bit. Because she knew that she wasn't going to end up without a partner. She knew that someone had to go up to her and ask.

" Hello Leshia, and sure I don't mind being your partner."

Lily smile seeing her second years ready and smiled seeing that slowly they were being partnered up. Perhaps they needed to be more open but she wasn't going to push. She clapped her hands to get their attention.

"Very good, Miss McCartney, Miss Rossmund, ten points each for being first, now go in and good luck."

She opened the door letting them in. Seeing that others were ready too, she walked over towards another door and smiled brightly.

"There are different entrances because this whole wing is filled with Devil Snare. Miss Vilde and Mister Parker, please enter door two."

Seeing that Miss Grey and Miss Prewett were ready too, she smiled and opened the third door.

"Be careful dears, and call out if you are in more danger. Have fun!"

She then waited for others to step up.
