Raven chuckled softly as she walked up to the gates of the asylum where she had grown up and she stroked the stone fondly with one of the fingers as she passed through the endless howling passages that had so long been forgotten by the public...

This was her home.

Not where she lived now.

And she had missed it oh so dearly.

With that Raven decided that she would like to enjoy one of her favourite pasttimes, people hunting, and she smirked, closing her eyes and picking a room at random, thrusting open the door, there was only a skeleton and some mice. Pouting Raven tried again. And again. Until she finally found one of the rooms occupied with two sets of dates.

Eyes glistening Raven, chuckled softly, and waved her hand through the air, calling her favourite wraith to her, and to have him do her bidding.

Konig whistled as he walked through the halls of the single most demented building in existance. The inmates had been only the most violently insane and the wraiths were of insane people. All in all it was the building that broke psychologists and therapists. So, technically, he should hate this building above all others but he actually rather liked it if he was honest with himself. As he strode down the halls, he wandered into the room that he'd seen Raven enter. He leant against the doorway with a smile,

"Hello Raven." he greeted her happily, "Fancy meeting you here."

Raven hissed animalistically at being interrupted during her fun and she sent her dagger flying in the direction of the voice as she snarled at it, sending the Wraith towards the group of shivering, cowering teenagers Raven watched, and listened with a smirk on her face, which dissolved into a far away, tortured look...

Those screams...
So like her own...

Calling the Wraith off, Raven looked at the immobile,but alive, group and walked up to one girl, one that looked slightly like herself and she knelt down in front of her, stroking her face softly.

"It's rude to enter my house without knocking."

Raven whispered, to both Konig and the girl.

"What business have you here? Come to stare?" she asked the girl "Come to examine?" she asked Konig

Having lived with Viktor during his alcoholism, Konig had developed reactions to keep himself from being impaled by thrown objects. With a deft flick of his wrist the dagger clattered to the floor, all forward momentum gone. Konig raised an eyebrow at her,

"I knocked." he replied quietly, having actually knocked on the front door, "And this door was open. I'm sorry if I should have knocked. It's my first time visiting your home after all."

Konig shrugged a little. He hadn't come to examine in the way that she was thinking but if he answered yes then she'd immediately become hostile. No, he'd come to be with her because, for some reason, he felt drawn to her. She excited him and it was in many, many ways. Sexually, mentally and within some part of him as yet unknown,

"I've come to be with you."

Raven looked into the girls eyes, not looking at Konig but hearing everything he was saying and she stroked the girls cheek one more time before growing disgusted as she started to look for money in her purse and the others the same.

"It's a big place..." she whispered

Growling at the girl, Raven smacked her outstretched hand sending the money everywhere and she snarled ferally: "I don't want your MONEY! IDIOT!"

Raven picked up the girl and thrust her against the wall with her hand around her throat, growling she squeezed and heard the girl start to wheeze and cry as the thought of her life slipping away came into her head.

"I like you. You're like me. So I'm going to spare you, the cruelties of this life, and end you first."

With that Raven moved her hand swiftly and the girls neck broke. Turning to Konig, Raven looked confused, her violet eyes clouded, why did he even care? Why? Why?!

"Why...?" she whispered "What do you want?"

Konig watched, a bit detatched, as Raven interacted with the other women. She seemed to be sharing their pain one minute and then adding to it the next. Of course it didn't have to make sense. Madness often didn't. When she moved to kill the woman, Konig was momentarily torn as to what to do. He'd seen death. He'd even executed people before. But this? He forced the feeling down.

He could see that he'd confused her with his reason for being here. Ignoring everything he knew as a psychologist, Konig took a step closer to her, still leaving quite a distance between them,

"Well I like you a lot Raven." he told her honestly, smiling still, "You're an amazing person. I'm not here to examine you or anything. I'm here to try and be your friend. If you'll let me of course."

As Konig stepped closer Raven let the body drop from the wall and she stepped closer to him, all the way up close and she seemingly ignored the teens in the corner who were sobbing at the loss of their friend, Raven stroked Konigs face now.

She didn't understand.

Friend?

What was that?

Raven looked up into his eyes and for a moment she appeared almost normal before a seductive look came over her features, she kissed the side of his mouth and purred, hoping she had gotten this right, was this friendship?

"You mean you want to sleep with me again? Is that...is that it?"

Blinking for a few minutes Raven suddenly was seized by a sense of frustration, span away from Konig and slammed her fist straight through the crumbling wall:

"GET OUT! GET OUT!" she screamed to the teenagers as they turned to flee the room

Konig could tell by the look in Raven's eyes that she wasn't entirely sure what a friend was and that was kind of sad. He looked down at her finger as she ran it across his chin. She looked like she was getting it for a moment before she changed her posture and expression to a seductive one. It wasn't friendship but he was finding it hard to resist when she kissed the edge of his mouth,

"I would like that..." he whispered, stroking her face lightly with a finger as well, "But I also want to spend more time with you. Just talking and things."

He raised an eyebrow as all of the other occupants fled the room, running from Raven's wrath. Konig stayed put. He paused for a second,

"I want to talk to you Raven."

Raven leant her head into Konigs touch but, as he said this wasn't what she wanted she staggered back and leant against the wall, she looked, shocked, frightened even and she froze up, her limbs rigid as she tried to think this over.

No analysis. No sex.

Did he want to hire her for a job, and if so, why is he going about it in a totally weird way? Normally the money was given and shed go.

"You want to hire me for a job? What job? And who's my target?"

Raven twitched, she froze up again and slid, slowly down the wall clutching her head in her hands, she looked up into Konig's eyes and she rocked slowly back and forth. She didn't understand. She didn't understand!

"Talk. Talk? What about? Why? What do you want? What do you want? What is it? Friend? Friend?! What's a friend? Confused...confused...Talk?!"

Konig was mildly surprised when Raven staggered back from his touch after he'd spoken. She was acting as if he'd slapped her round the face. Hard. He looked her over quickly. It seemed like she was freezing up over what he'd said. He carefully made sure that he didn't frown when she spoke,

"No I don't want to hire you for a job Raven." he assured her gently, "I just want to get to know you better is all."

He knelt down to Raven's level and looked her square in the eye as she started to have a breakdown. He didn't look away,

"This is what a friend is Raven." he told her simply before hugging her shaking body to him. He held onto her tightly but not too tightly, "I'm here for you Raven. I will help you in whatever way I can. I will give you my love and support. I am here for you to cry on. I am here for you to rage against. And when you feel all alone... I'm here to keep you warm."

Raven looked into Konigs eyes and she looked at her shaking body and she sobbed loudly, she was mental, a wreck, an absolute crazed idiot and she needed to be shot, she was an abomination. But. It didn't seem that Konig agreed with her.

"I...I dont understand. I don't understand."

With that Raven looked away and then appeared to flip back into her controlled self, she looked Konig dead in they eyes and she smirked softly, shaking her head, weakness. Weakness! That's what he was promoting. Raven wouldn't...she couldn't...

"You want that? From me? You want ms to tell you things right? You're no better than him, he..." Raven turned frantic and clutched at Konigs sleeve tears bursting from her eyes as she continued to speak "He said that! He said that to me! Friend. Friend he said! Will you be a friend? A friend like him? You are like him...I can see it."

Konig was ignoring everything he'd ever learnt about psychology and was going out on a limb. Why? Because Raven was intelligent. If he tried anything like a pschologist she'd see right through it and probably attempt to gut him like a fish. Now he had confidence in his ability to defend himself, he just wasn't stupid enough to risk anything,

"I can help you understand Raven." he told her quietly, delicately, "I can tell you what you want to know. I can answer your questions."

The mask was up. He could see it in her eyes. They'd been alive with feeling not two seconds ago and now they were dead and blank again. He almost wanted to slap her to break the mask but at the same time he didn't want to hurt her. The continued references to a 'him' unnerved him because Konig had absolutely no idea who she was talking about,

"I want to talk to you and help you through some things Raven." he blinked at the rapid mood change before taking a gamble and hugging her tightly to him, "I don't know who you're talking about... but I only want to help you Raven. I never want to hurt you in anyway."

Raven looked at Konig and she grinned softly, there was nothing that she could say that would persuade him otherwise, but the quiet way that he spoke put her on edge, what was he trying to do with her? What was he trying to get her to do...?

"Questions...so many questions...so little answers..."

Shaking her head softly Raven closed her eyes and felt herself slipping into something that she hadn't done in a while, she became herself. Her proper self.

"Talk. Help. It's worthless. But talk anyway. And I shall listen."

Raven was brought into a hug and her eyes flashed but, she slowly let her defences down, and she allowed the man to hug her closer, tighter, knowing she could get out of this if she chose to, leaning herself into the hug Raven whispered:

"Help me...do whatever you want, don't listen to me, just do it..."

Konig knew that Raven had, most likely, built up some impressive emotional barriers to people trying to befirend her. Of course with her obvious skill at killing it was little wonder why she was so loathe to be friends. To be friends with someone could, all too easily, turn into Raven being exploited for her skill at killing,

"Well ask your questions and I'll give what answers I can." he told her soothingly before scratching the back of his head a little, "I can't say I'll have all of the answers you're looking for but I'll do my best to answer your questions."

He wasn't about to say anything but as she closed her eyes she seemed to relax into herself a lot more, almost as if she was relaxing around him. The fact that he was still hugging her and not dead confirmed that she'd let her defences down enough to relax around him. He smiled faintly at her as he stroked her hair soothingly,

"I'm not going to ask about your childhood... I'm not going to ask about your parents... that's all psychoanalysis bullshit." he told her simply, "I'm going to do what a friend would do and ask you something friendly..."

He smiled a little more,

"Do you have any other people you feel especially close to?" he asked with a smile before smirking ever so slightly, "Perhaps people you don't want to kill."

When Konig told her to ask all the questions that she wanted Raven closed her eyes and she thought of how to put them into order, she had all of the deep questions that she wanted to know, if she was a good person, was she human? Where was the Doctor now? Why did he leave her?!

"Why...why am I so...broken?"

Raven asked, her voice cracking, looking at her hands in disbelief, oh the things that these hands had done, such truly horrible things that she couldn't bare to think about sometimes.

Surprised to feel Konig's hand stroking her hair Raven moved him to sit down next to her and she curled up on his lap, purring happily, this was odd, she was never normally like this, and she couldn't bring herself to relax completely not in this room.

"Why do you care?" She snapped but then sighed and groaned a little. "Viktor. People who hire me for contracts, incase they want me for more."

Blinking a little Raven remembered that one thing, the one person she had been missing for a long time, and she held her hands across her chest, as if reaching for something.

"There's something else...yes...something else...but I can't...I can't remember."

Konig's heart ached at Raven's first question. It was a question some people asked when they were aware of how far their minds had slipped and occassionally were able to bring lucidity to the surface of their personality. Seeing that she was looking at her hands, Konig held his own near hers,

"You're not broken Raven." he told her quietly, "You're just a little confused. And no one wanted to help. But I can help you decided what it is you want, not what others want."

Konig sat down as she dictated with her actions and was mildly surprised when she curled up onto his knees. But he pushed that aside to stroke her hair soothingly and he held her tightly to him,

"Why shouldn't I?" he shot back, no bite in his voice at all, just a quick question, "Why shouldn't I care when you are a person who I would like to know? I care about you as a friend. I care about you because you are a woman who is struggling to find her way and I can help."

He paused for a second. Of course it was great that Raven could think of someone like that but the idea that she couldn't remember was troubling. He continued to stroke her hair,

"I'm going to ask you to try and remember Raven..." he whispered quietly, "Don't worry if you can't... Just anything at all will do."

Raven suddenly saw another pair of hands next to her own and she jumped a little, she was the Raven that would have been, the Raven that was normal, the Raven that wasn't the result of some whack job's experiment fantasies gone awry.

"What am I doing...? What have I done...?"

She asked, her voice shaking as her hands now followed their lead, she shook gently as she was curled up on Konig's lap, like a cat that had just had it's tail trodden on.

"I don't know, I'm not used to it, I dont...I dont want to scare you away because I like you..."

With that Raven got up from Konigs lap and stood up her head leaning on the wall as she thought deeper and deeper about what had happened bu all she saw was flashing images, the screams, something being taken from her, blood...

"REMEMBER!"

Raven screamed and whacked her head on the wall.

The way that Raven jumped up was a bad side but when Konig noticed the look on her face, a look of fear and confusion, and decided that it might just be a break through. Even if it was painful, from this they could work on something resembling normality,

"It's alright Raven..." he whispered into her ear soothingly as he held her close to him. He was holding her tight to give her some measure of reassurance. It made a small feeling of warmth grow in his chest when she told him that she liked him. He hugged her tighter, "You won't scare me away Raven. I'm not going anywhere because I like you too."

Konig let her get up from his lap with some reluctance. He felt they'd been making a break through there but he also enjoyed just holding her. When she screamed and smacked her head against the wall his eyes widened and he was at her side in an instant, holding her gently upright as she swayed from the impact,

"Raven you don't need to push yourself." he told her quietly, concerned, "Go as slowly as you need to, to make sure that you're comfortable."

The way that Konig held her close to his chest made Raven blink normally she would have stabbed him through the chest for making her feel so trapped but now she relished the loving feeling that it brought to her. It was so foreign and unusual to her...

"You...you promise me Konig? You promise me you won't leave me?"

Raven blinked again and stayed quiet for a very long time as Konig held her arms after she had whacked her head on the wall, she felt his warm hands on her skin and she bit her lip, looking up into his eyes silently, not blinking.

"I don't want to wait...I want to know. I WANT TO KNOW!!"

With that Raven broke free and ran down the corridors, fingers scraping across the Walls, creating a horrible sound like chalk down a blackboard, making her nails bleed, the skin around her eyes darkened as she paused in front of the room at the end of the corridor, her hand shaking next to the knob of the door and she let out a shaky breath.

"I don't want to be alone anymore..."

He knew, when he had first hugged her, that what he was doing might have warrented a knife to the face or other area if she was truly as 'mad' as she was seen. It was rather warming to know that she was as sensative as he had imagined her to be underneath her layers,

"I promise Raven." he told her simply and honestly, "I promise you that I will always be with you. For as long as I live I will be by your side. I will be your friend, your protector, your accomplise, your lover and anything else we both agree on."

Konig was glad that he was holding her again. It made him feel warm and tingly inside and it seemed to be helping her so it was even better. He looked down into her deep eyes and saw the confusion still there. She was so confused about basic facts of her life,

"I know you do Raven." he told her quietly before growling, "And I want to know who did this to you... I want to cut the sick twist up a little bit before you do."

When Raven broke free and ran riot down the corridors, Konig followed quickly. It was good that she was trying to get this all out of her system but it might get out of hand. Gently, Konig placed his hand over hers on the doorknob,

"You're not alone anymore." he told her in a whisper as he turned the knob with both of their hands, "I'm with you. And I always will be."

Raven felt her eyes become moist with tears as Konig twisted the doorknob with her, she hadn't been able to come in here and she blinked, looking at the crack the door had opened and wondering what lay behind it, if it was still as she remembered.

"The Doctor...the Doctor did this to me..."

Blinking she felt herself loose the tears in her eyes and they flooded down her face, plopping onto the dusty floor.

"Here that you b*stard. I'm not alone anymore. IM NOT ALONE ANYMORE!!!"

Stepping into the room Raven stood in the dark, eyes wide, looking upon the scene in front of her with abject terror in her eyes, this was the room that she had always feared, even now. She wanted to flee and seek comfort in her own bedroom but stayed still.

A dusty metal operating table sat in the centre of the room, abandoned tools and vials lay crushed on the floor and his coat on the back of his chair. Then. Ravens heart stopped in her chest. The ticking! The ticking was still here!!!

Raven shrieked and pointed at the pocket watch, face open and cracked on the table, and she shrunk back screaming.

Something Konig had never seen before was Raven with tears in her eyes but he would swear to god right now that he could see tears in her eyes right now. He opened the door with her and was, if he was completely honest with himself, a little frightened about what they might find. After all, if it could scare Raven then it must have truly been something horrible,

"The Doctor?" he asked quietly, assuming that she didn't mean the Highmaster, "Do you remember his name?"

He knelt down beside her and held her silently as she cried. She didn't need his comforting words right now, she just needed to be held and he was happy to do so. Konig nodded at her declaration,

"No, you're not alone." he agreed with some force behind the tone, addressed to the same person she was talking to, "You will never be alone again Raven. I am here for you. And Viktor will be there for you as well."

It did look like something out of a horror movie, he reflected as he took a step into the room and looked around. Of course, it was abandoned like all of the other rooms but it still smelt faintly. Disinfectant. Blood. He looked at her, confused and concerned by her reaction, before he heard it.

There was a faint ticking sound.

Turning, he found the souce as a cracked pocket watch. Seeing that it was the cause of Raven's distress he silenced it with a wave of his wand before going back to her,

"What..." he paused a little bit, "What happened here Raven?"

As soon as the watch was silenced Raven stood there shivering, looking at the watch as if it might eat her, anyone who cares to pay attention would know that there were no clocks around Raven, there were no clocks in Durmstrang any more and certainly she never kept one.

"Doctor...doctor! Doctor doctor..." Raven muttered, pacing the floor while keeping her eyes locked on the watch "Got to stop. Got to. Can't let him. No no. Not her. No. Not me. Me instead. Doctor doctor..."

Ravens head flicked up, her ring grew cold. No. He couldn't still be here, she had sent him away a long-time ago down to the pits of hell where he belonged. Yet there was a ghost present. Glancing to the table Raven saw a spirit, a spirit of a girl younger than her, she remembered her.

It was re-enacting what had happened to it.

Seeing the girls eyes slowly get ripped out Ravens body went cold. Then there was the injections. The serum he injected. It burnt. Burnt so much. It was so painful. The girl screamed and thrashed on the table and Raven felt herself well up again. She remembered her. She remembered.

"He tortured his children. Tortured them until they died. I...I remember that...always remember the pain...the laugh..."

Konig, seeing the look of fear that Raven was directing towards the pocket watch, walked over to it and closed the lid on the broken thing. Without thinking about it, he threw the watch to the other side of the room, where it cracked more against the wall but was still silent. He didn't want anything to hurt Raven like that again,

"The doctor isn't here." he told her reassuringly, "And nothing is going to happen to you Raven. Not while I'm around."

Konig wasn't very intune with ghosts or images of an afterlife. It was a condition found in muggles almost exclusively but he also had trouble seeing ghosts despite being completely magical. But he was able to see the afterlife image of what had gone on here and it sickened him. He paused for a second at the implications,

"Raven... when you say his children..." he looked at her, concerned and afraid, "Do you mean that... literally? Like... they were literally his children? That you were...?"

Raven watches the pocket watch fly across the room and she flinched as it hit the wall. It was said it was a part of her that she didn't like but couldn't get rid of. Raven didn't think she could ever leave it behind so she walked, slowly, over to it and looked at it for a few moments.

Bending down to pick it up Raven held it cautiously in her hands.

"The Doctor is always here."

The look on Konigs face made Raven want to chuckle but she didn't. The dark windowless room held memories so painful that she couldn't bear to look back on, yet they came to her anyway, like nightmares with an ending. Yet always repeating themselves.

"Some. Yes. I was made. He killed all his children. I wasn't his. I survived. I remember...remember a lady...a pretty lady and so nice...brought me chocolate she did...didn't see her no more after that...but more children came..."

Raven frowned and looked at the chair, something was missing, a memory incomplete, she needed to think but her mind was confused. It was broken. Maybe. Maybe that was his last revenge on her, to have broken her beyond repair.

"Made us fight...he did..."
