Background Information:

Peeves is a poltergeist and has lived ever since the creation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As a poltergeist, he has never been human in a previous life. In other words, he has never died, and he cannot ever die. He's amortal. He was never living from the beginning. Peeves loved the founders of Hogwarts, especially Salazar and Godric, as the two of them would often indulge him with pranking Rowena and Helga.

Peeves was created/formed from the chaos that started when the founders built Hogwarts. He was, according to them, something that 'came with the building.
