Daring (Leon)

Momo had wondered about the horror stories she had heard while she had stayed at the Ministry.
It was very interesting to her, especially because it made her heart race every time that she thought about what might have happened there.
Tugging her coat about her thin frame Momo moved through the streets, the sky grey, it seemed like it was threatening to rain.

Everyone seemed to fall away the closer that she got to the asylum.
She had never been in one of these before, but even as she stood outside, Momo knew that she would like nothing more than to turn around and walk home.
Reaching her hand out to touch the metal gate, she felt herself tremoring, her attention focused on the dilapidated building in front of her.

Leon had been part of the commitee that had shut down the Irrenhaus Verlassen back when it had been found to be the setting of frankenstein-style experimentation. It had been easy to see why the place should have been closed down and the Doctor that worked there should be taken away in magic-surpressing handcuffs. But every year he came to this place to look at how awful it was and to think about how much better it was with the madman put away.

As he was walking, he spotted someone near the gate. Moving closer, he placed a hand on the person's shoulder,

"Excuse mir..." he paused as he noticed who it was. He smiled, "Ah Mo-Chan! What are you doing here?"

Momo felt something on her shoulder and she screamed and fell over, she had been looking at the mental asylum for so long, and he thought she had saw someone in there.
The touch to her shoulder had been a huge shock, and although it was stupid she had thought that it was a ghost, like the stories has said.
Heart pounding in her chest, Momo blinked up at the man, who much to her embarrassment was Leon.

"Ah! Leon-sama, I just...I umm..."
Blushing Momo got up off the floor and pouted at her skinned hands, brushing some dirt off her hoodie, which was black and dark green, with a monster face on the hood, which had now fallen down.

"I was just looking at the Irrenhaus Verlassen, some guys at work were telling me about the horror stories, I wondered if they were true." she said with a smile, looking back at the creepy building.

Leon's eyes widened in surprise when Momo screamed and reached down to help her out even as she fell. It was obvious that Momo had not been expecting to see anyone here. But it was rather strange that she would be looking at the asylum at all. It wasn't exactly the happiest of places,

"It's alright Mo-Chan." he assured her with a small smile as he gave her a hand getting to her feet, "It was my fault for startling you."
Chuckling a little bit, he took out his wand and waved it at her hoodie, cleaning it of dirt. It was a good hoodie, it made her seem even cuter in his eyes. He tapped her skinned hands, healing them, before putting his wand away,

"Ah ja... the horror stories." he looked up at the Irrenhaus Verlassen with a far away look before smiling at her, "Which ones have you been told Mo-Chan?"

Momo blushed wildly as she was helped up by Leon-sama.
She was more than a little embarrassed because she wanted to make sure that she was always professional and composed around her employer.
Falling over in fear was not something that screamed professionalism.

"Ah! No, I should have been paying more attention, I was just...um...looking for people inside there, I heard that some people are still in there, like humans and things."

Pulling her hood up Momo smiled gently, and her heart was still hammering as she placed her hand on the gate, drawing it away when she found that it was wet.
Frowning she looked at her hand and her breath froze in her throat.
Blood?
"W-what?" she asked, showing Leon-sama.

"Raven, I was told about Raven, I feel so sorry for her, and I can't believe this man was allowed to do those things for so long...all those experiments."

Leon smiled widely as he saw Momo blushing when he helped her to her feet. He would have smirked but he didn't want it to seem like he was enjoying it too much when she was a little hurt. He smiled a little bit and shook his head. It was obvious that she was embarrassed at being found like this by her boss when there was really no need to be,

"Ah you were looking through the windows?" he asked with a small smirk, "Ja quite a few people tend to do that actually, you're not alone there."

Leon smiled as Momo put up her hood and her blush lessened, as if the hood made some of her earlier embarrassment fall away for whatever reason. He paused and touched the gate for himself. There did seem to be blood on the gate,

"Mmm must be some kind of spell to scare people away." he remarked, "I think I remember someone talking about it at the ministry actually."

He paused for a long moment when she mentioned Raven,

"Raven. Ja, the Raven. Everyone has heard the stories about Raven being here." he waved his wand and the gate opened. He held a hand out towards her, "Would you like to go inside Mo-Chan?"

Momo nodded her head and she smiled lightly, that was indeed what she had been doing.
There was something about the building that chilled her blood.
Just by looking at it.

"Hai, I was looking through the windows Leon-sama, have you ever been inside?" she asked curiously

Biting her lip, she looked at the blood on her hand and wondered what she could do to get rid of it, it didn't seem to be going anywhere.
Tapping her hand with her wand to get rid of the blood, Momo sighed happily when it was gone.

"Did the Ministry put it on the gate?" she asked, blinking a little bit, there seemed to be a real feel to the blood, like it had been put there by another hand, not a spell at all.

Hanging her head a little, Momo looked her head up at the old building, and thought she saw someone at the window, a girl with black hair, she cocked her head, then vanished.
Gasping a little, Momo bit her lip.

"Raven is real, isn't she? This is her house? She comes here...that's what people told me." blinking she clasped her hands together "I don't know...I'm scared..." she whispered.

Leon smiled in return and glanced up at the building. He could see why people did it. Even from this distance the building seemed evil for some reason,

"Nothing wrong with that at all Mo-Chan." he told her with a grin before the grin fell, "I was part of the team that close it down. It was... awful."

Leon himself had just wiped the 'blood' onto his robes. It wasn't really blood at all, it was water that was enchanted to look like blood,

"Die Ministry? Nein." he shook his head, touching the gate gently, "A few members of the ministry I'm told. Or, if the horror stories are true, this is how Raven warns people of this place's terrible history."

Leon raised an eyebrow when he saw the girl up in the window before she disappeared. Didn't look like a ghost to him but it didn't look like Raven either. Of course it was quite a ways away so he had no way of knowing. He nodded,

"Raven is real. She works at Durmstrang now actually." he paused a moment before shrugging, "No one's really sure where she lives. Though some people have started seeing her leaving with Konig Nickel. They might live at his home."

Momo bit her lip, she didn't want to make Leon-sama feel bad by having to make him relive the terrible things that he would have had to have seen when he had emptied the asylum the first time around.
Not wanting to ask him about it, Momo merely nodded.

"Is it...terribly scary inside?" she asked, her voice filled with wonder.

Humming a little to herself, Momo looked back up at the asylum.
Pushing on the gate it creaked open and she glanced nervously at Leon-sama.
She did not want to go into the building alone.

"Maybe....maybe if you come with me Leon-sama, I would like to look inside." she suggested, not stepping onto the property until she was sure he was going to be coming with her.

Hoping that Ivan had not just been teasing her at the Ministry, Momo gulped a little, the girl at thr window had freaked her out just a little bit;

"Did you see the person...at the window, before?" she asked.

Leon hadn't seen much of what had gone on inside the asylum if he was honest. It was easy to class the place as unsuitable and have it closed down. You saw evidence the moment you walked through the door after all. Worst part though was how long it took to shut them down. It seemed the Doctor who ran the place had been on someone in the ministry's payroll,

"It was." he replied before smiling, "It shouldn't be anymore. Nein doctor, nein patients, only a few ghosts I think. Nein wraith even."

Seeing her hesitance, Leon knew that he was going to be going into the asylum with Momo. It wasn't a problem to him at all, he would love the chance to be in Momo's company,

"Of course Mo-Chan." he assured her with a dazzling smile, taking her hand as he began to lead her up the path towards the asylum, "I will make sure nothing happens to you don't you worry."

He frowned a little bit before sighing,

"I don't know what I saw." he admitted, "It looked like a girl but from that distance it could have been anything."

Momo opened and closed her mouth in nervousness.
Leon-sama had mentioned a wraith?
She did not know what a wraith was but it did not sound like something she would like to see.
Biting her lip she looked up at the building, took a deep breath, and calmed herself down.

"What is a wraith Leon-sama? And why were they in the building?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.

Leon-sama's smile made Momo even more relaxed, and she knew that nothing was going to happen when she was in the company of her employer.
Taking his hand a little more readily than she would have done normally, Momo followed him up the path.

"Arigato, Leon-sama." she whispered quietly as they approached the door to the asylum, her heart beating fast in her chest as they did so, the building was creaking and groaning away with age, and she began to regret her desicion.

"Ah, so you are...how they say...a skeptic?" she asked with a small smile, biting her lip as she pushed open the front door, shrinking back in case something leaped out at her, but nothing did.

Leon raised an eyebrow, smiling slightly as he did so. Seemed that she didn't really understand what a wraith was, not that he blamed her. Most assumed that ghosts, generally friendly things, were all that lingered after death. She did look very cute biting her lip like that though, a fact he made sure to remember,

"A wraith is like a ghost. Unfinished business ja? Except a wraith is a ghost who's unfinished business is nicht gut. Violent business." he gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, "Bad things happened her Mo-Chan. Bad thing create wraiths. But it's cleared. Raven took all of the wraiths away."

He had to admit that holding her hand like this felt nice. It felt as if they were accepting each other in more of a romantic sense, even if Momo was only doing it to reassure herself for entering the asylum,

"Keine problem Mo-chan." he assured her as they reached the large set of doors. He smiled a little bit when Momo seemed to check at every stage of opening the door. Taking his wand, he cast a light spell and held his wand up high, "I suppose I am a skeptic, ja. I believe in something when it has been proven. Ghosts have been proven. However, they have not been proven to exist in here since Raven swept through the place."

Momo gulped quietly to herself, she was not looking forward to going into the asylum, especially if there were those creatures, those wraith things.
Biting her lip harder Momo didn't say anything, she was too thrilled and too scared to now that the door to the asylum was open, it was almost as if she was frightened the ghosts would hear them and come running.

Taking out her own wand, Momo cast a bigger light spell.
She could feel the sense of magic around her, and thought that it must be coming from somewhere, the ghosts most probably.

Inhaling a deep breath, Momo looked around the entrance hall and squeezed Leon-sama's hand even tighter, stepping inside she nearly screamed when the door closed itself behind them, but managed to just look like a frightened cat.

"Oh my." she said weakly "Maybe I should go I dont th-"

Blinking when her spell cast light on the wall, Momo opened and closed her mouth, if the colour could have drained from her cheeks it would have, on the wall written in a dark liquid was;

'Get Out.'

"Maybe we should get out like it says ne?" she asked

Leon saw Momo gulp and had to admit that answering her question honestly might not have been the best idea. Sure, he was able to warn her in the very unlikely event a wraith still lingered but it had made her awfully jumpy. He strengthened his light charm before flicking his wand, sending the little orb of light to the top of the ceiling, where it glowed brightly like a muggle lightbulb.

The ayslum had changed little since he had been here last, except now there were no screams. No bodies and no half-dead people before prodded and poked. He narrowed his eyes when the door snapped shut before squeezing Momo's hand reassuringly,

"Don't worry Mo-chan, I've got you." he assured her as he continued to look around, a light spell at his wand tip as well now, "It's find, we can look around."

He followd Momo's gaze to the wall and the message writen there. Blinking a few times, Leon frowned a little bit and moved over to the message. Moving his wand over it, he analysed the liquid. It was water based but that didn't mean much considering that blood was water based,

"Nein... ghosts can't interact with the world Mo-chan." he frowned, "Only wraiths and poltergeists can. I say we keep looking around."

Momo squeaked unhappily and hid behind Leon-sama.
Realising what she was doing she suddenly sprang apart form him, blushing a little.
Such contact was inappropriate with her boss, even though she found that she was slowly becoming more used to the idea of him being both a friend and employer.

The idea of looking around made her feel a little queasy, but she was here wasn't she?
Why not look around while you were being terrified?

"W-where shall we go Leon-sama? You've been here before, which places should we not go to?" she asked, silently meaning the places with no wraiths.

Seeing Leon-sama move closer to the wall Momo squeaked again and moved after him, the liquid writing made her feel sick and she blinked a little bit to calm herself down.
Hearing a creak on the large stairwell in front of them, Momo bit her lip, seeing nothing assumed it was the building settling.

"But, the nice ghost at the Ministry, we could talk and see him...that's interaction enough for me Leon-sama." she whispered, going to a cupboard and running her fingers along it, it was so dusty in here, she could see any fresh footprints in the dust, like they were from a few nights ago.

"I suppose lots of teenagers come in here looking to get scared ne?"

Leon was actually rather surprised when he heard a little squeak from beside him and felt Momo hiding behind him. He chuckled a little bit when she jumped away, obviously embarrassed to the extreme for her very cute display. Although he definately didn't mind how she seemed to be more comfortable with being in his presense now. He paused when she asked him where they should go and where they shouldn't go,

"Well I remember a report saying the the Doctor's office is off limits. Unless you want to die a very painful death." he muttered before smiling faintly, "So let's go to the cafeteria. It's right on the opposite side to his office."

Hearing the same squeak, Leon chuckled a little bit. Momo really was just too cute sometimes. He shook his head and waved his wand. The writing disappeared, which was odd in itself. The work of wraiths and poltergeists was hard to remove with magic. He shrugged,

"Yes but Crepens can't touch anything. To make a message you have to touch something ja?" he asked before frowning, "I suppose they must do. Although the gate is supposed to be barred to all but ministry personel. Curiouser and curiouser."

Momo liked the idea of staying as far away as possible from the deranged Doctor's office.
So the lunch hall sounded like it was going to be a good idea to head to, if not a little bit safe and boring.
A part of her was screaming to go into the Doctors office, but the much larger and much more sensible side of her, decided to just go to the lunch hall.

"I think that sounds like a great idea, after all, I think it would be wise to stay as far away as possible from the scary wraith Doctor man's office." she said her face pale.

Feeling a little bit torn about the removal of the writing, Momo smiled nervously and pointed to a corridor off the main entrance way, it looked dark down there and she whimpered quietly, moving her orb of light to see what was down there.

Rooting to the spot when right at the end there was a person, in a white hospital gown with blood stains upon it, they shuffled around, not looking up and when they did Momo wished they hadn't it groaned and began to move it's way towards her.

"L-l-leon-s-ama!" she half squeaked half screamed as she was rooted to the spot, scrunching her eyes closed.

Leon didn't have the heart to tell her that a wraith of unusual power dwelt within the doctor's office. Nor did he wish to tell her that it was said to be the doctor's spirit. The cafeteria was a little bit better. Only three people had died there after all,

"Ja, the doctor was an evil man. Some say he hasn't left his office." he told her calmly, "Even Raven is afraid of the doctor and his office. She doesn't go there either from what I know."

Leon had been thinking about the writing and what it really meant when Momo half-squeaked and half-screamed his name. He spun round and saw the figure at the end of the dark corridor. When the figure saw him it seemed to stop of a second before letting out a slightly louder moan and shuffling forwards. Leon gritted his teeth and dragged Momo away,

"Alright, time to get to the cafeteria!" he decided, trying to come up with a plan if it was a wraith of some kind, "If it's a wraith we will need salt!"

Momo was not comforted by the way that Leon-sama only dragged her away from the dight of the spectre, she had no idea what he was going to do.
What he said next did not comfort her either.
That thing was a wraith?!

"Leon-sama why is it not going away?" she asked, slightly afraid as she grabbed his hand and held it tight "I thought that ghosts were supposed to go away!"

Not knowing where the lunch hall was, Momo followed Leon-sama.
She was absolutely terrfied at this moment in time and she wanted nothing but to keep looking behind at the thing to see if it was following them.

"Okay, okay let's go there quickly please Leon-sama!" she said in a panicked voice making sure to cast her light spell where they were headed, there was some glass in the corridor however, which seemed to be clear apart from a few scattered papers, pausing for a moment, Momo placed her hands in her hair.

Leon was silently cursing himself for not sending in proper clean up squards to deal with this place. Clearly Raven hadn't been as thorough as she had liked the ministry to believe. He frowned as he looked over his shoulder as the slowly moving spirit,

"I don't know Mo-chan." he replied, holding her hand tightly, "I think it means that it's not a ghost. It might be a weak wraith. If it was a strong one it wouldn't need to walk."

Leon checked to see if they were going the right way and was glad that they were. Finding the lunch hall, Leon opened the doors with his wand and sent up several hanging lights at the ceiling to light the area,

"Alright this is the room Mo-chan." he told her as he went about looking for some salt, "Mo-chan close the door for me would you? I have a theory I want to test out and a closed door would be of great help."

Momo although she did not want to...she felt herself looking at the spirit.
It seemed as if it wasn't angry that it just wanted help, but as it got closer and closer, she felt those feelings beginning to change.
She could hear whispering, she could her an odd gurgling sound that she didn't think boded well.
As soon as it entered the corridor Momo squeaked and quickly ran down the length of the corridor to the lunch room.

"A w-wraith!? B-but Leon-sama you told me there were no wraiths in here!" she said, in a very panicked voice, tis was a dark spirit? Was it going to harm her? Was it going to harm Leon-sama?

It was her job to ensure that Leon-sama stayed safe, after all he was more important than she.
He was the Got Des Assistenten.
She was just an admin worker.

"Hai Leon-sama." she nodded, running over to the door and locking it with magic, the spirit was almost there and she dashed back to Leon.

Hearing a smash Momo turned around and screamed when she saw that there was another one of them inside the lunchroom, but it was different, it had no eyes!
It was coming towards her and she squeaked, burying herself in Leon-sama's arms, sobbing lightly.

"Leon-sama, I'm scared!" she cried.

Leon was calm and collected on the outside but on the inside he was swearing up a storm. This asylum was supposed to be virtually free from all spirits but definately free from god damned wriaths! What the hell had they paid Raven all that money for if she hadn't taken the more dangerous spirits from her own power? He gritted his teeth,

"It's just a running theory." he told her calmly, "But I think there are only really two possibilities. One of which is that Raven didn't do quite as good a job as we thought she did."

Leon smiled faintly when Momo locked the door. It was going to prove or disprove his theory right here. He growled when another spirit appeard in the lunch room with them. Without thinking, Leon wrapped an arm around Momo to hold her close to him,

"Don't worry Mo-hime." he assured her gently as a large amount of salt levitated up, "I'll protect you."

The condensed salt flew through the air, hitting the spirit with no eyes straight in the face. The spirit flew backwards from the force of the blow but instead of hissing and dissolving, the 'spirit' swore in german,

"Ow!"

Leon's eyes narrowed,

"What the hell kind of ghost says 'Ow'?"

Momo looked out from Leon-sama's chest as he seemed to be doing some sort of spel to attack the ghosts.
She had heard that salt is normally used in order to repel spirits and she knew that she would carry some around with her at all times as a result of this day.

When the spirit flew back, and the other didn't seem to be coming into the room, Momo felt much better.
Stepping out form Leon-sama's arms she wondered what he meant.
The ghost had said ow?

Blinking a little bit as she saw the ghost get up, Momo opened her mouth in shock and let herself cry even more when she found out that it was nothing but a cruel joke being played on her.

"Ivan-teme!" she cursed, wiping at her eyes and turning to the door on the other side of the lunchroom, opening it she ran out of the room and up a flight of stairs, she didn't stop running until she had reached a light part of the asylum where she sat down and cried.

She couldn't believe this was all a joke.

Leon held Momo tightly to his chest, not ready to believe that the danger was passed just yet. Even if it did seem to be more or less over with for now. He frowned a little bit as his salt attack failed to work as it was supposed to. The ghost was supposed to be completely destroyed, not feel any pain.

When it was revealed to be nothing but a joke, by someone he remembered seeing at the ministry no less, Leon was furious. They had frightened poor Momo half to deaf for some kind of lame joke? Oh heads were going to roll for this! He glared at the man, Ivan, and pointed his wand at the man threateningly,

"You are not going to be having a job come monday morning." he hissed coldly, "You endangered and scared another ministry employee and your minister! You're lucky you won't be going to prison."

Seeing Momo dashing out of the room, Leon's eyes widened. Although Ivan had turned out to be a fake, this place was still very haunted. If she wandered off into the wrong section she might run into a real wraith and there would be nothing he could do. Taking a container of salt, Leon rushed after Momo. As he followed her into a lighter section of the asylum, Leon swore under his breath before catching up to her. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a tight hug as the two of them sat there,

"It'a alright Momo-hime." he assured her even as he tried to recognise the area they were in, "I'm going to punish Ivan for this. It ist night gut to do this to friends and ministry members. Shall we go home then?"

Ivan swore when he turned out to have upset Momo-chan, he had not meant for it to go to far.
She had just said that she liked ghosts and he wanted to make sure that she found some, so that she would not be dissappointed with her visit.
Eyes widening when he was told by the Minister that he was going to lose his job, Ivan was not above begging for him to stay there.

"Oh Minister I didn't mean for it to go so far, and to be honest I didn't expect you to be here with Momo either, I'll gladly take whatever punishment that you hand me, but please don't fire me." he said, bowing to the Got Des Assistenten.

When Momo had run off he followed Becker, and watched the two from afar, feeling more than a little awkward, he had hoped to get a kiss from Momo when he had come to her rescue, but now he was loosing his job and he wasn't getting in with the attractive woman.

Momo sniffled and wiped her eyes on the back of her sleeve, pulling her hood back up, as it had fallen down when she had run into this part of the asylum, not knowing exactly where she was, she stood up and walked towards one of the doors, holding up her wand, she looked at the label on it.

'Laboratory 1.'

Screaming when something launched itself at the door she ran away back down the stairs, stopping halfway and glaring at Ivan; "Thats enough stop it! It's not funny!"

"I'm not doing that!" he protested.
