A Quiet Place (Lolita and Remy) Empty A Quiet Place (Lolita and Remy)

Lolita sighed happily as she sunk down against one of the walls of the Maze, it was a warm day and she had finally found the middle of it, which was huge, and had many different benches and seats to rest on before you had to find your way out again.

Taking out an apple Lolita began to eat it slowly while she leafed through a book that she had already read about five times, she knew the story inside out but she couldn't bring herself to throw it away, she never could with any books.

Looking around breifly Lolita returned to the book and immersed herself in the story once more.

Remy wondered through the maze aimlessly, hoping for some quiet time before school started and the constant noise began.

Although this would be his first year teaching he heard the stories. The legendary, such as the Muruaders; and the ugly, like the old rivalry between Gryffindors and Slytherins -- although that settled down quite a bit in past years.

When he finally reached the center of the maze he was surprised to see someone else there, a young woman with brown hair seemed to be too engrossed in her book to notice there was a second visitor.

Realizing that it most be a member of staff, Remy decided to risk being yelled at for interrupting and introduce himself.

"Bonjour,"

Lolita jumped a little and slammed her book shut as if she had been reading something she shouldnt have been, she looked up at the man who had spoken and she grinned, so he was from France as well as her? This was going to be nice. Maybe he had news from France...?

"Bonjour."

She nodded politely and smiled at the man, blushing softly as she realised not only was he French but he carried the stereotype that all Frenchmen are good looking, but she tried not to dwell on that too much.

"What brings you here this fine day Monsieur?"

Lolita slipped her book back into her bag and nibbled at her apple instead of taking rather large unlady like bites from it. That was sure to be unsightly to watch. Lolita gestured to the seat next to her with a small smile.

"What brings you here this fine day Monsieur?"

Remy grinned and took the offered seat. So she was French too, hmm? Interesting, not to mention she was kind of cute, but he pushed that thought to the back of his mind.

"I'm simply enjoying what peace I'll be able to get before the start of term, Mademoiselle. What about yourself?"

Remy noticed how one of her eyes was green while the other was blue, strange, but very alluring.

Lolita smiled softly as the man sat down, she felt that smile widen when he told her that he was here to get some peace before term started, so he must be a professor at Hogwarts then, biting her lip Lolita laughed quietly.

"I'm here for the same thing, although, I'm hoping there will be peace in the library, otherwise heads will roll."

Holding out her hand Lolita waited for the man to shake it.

"Lolita. Lolita Bradshaw."

A small, shy, smile graced her lips and she gazed into the mans eyes, wondering if her own were as unnerving to him as they were to other people, apparently hexochromia was not a desires mutation.

"Who are you?" she asked politely

Remy chuckled lightly and shook her hand, she most be the Librarian, hopefully not as stern as Madam Pince was.

"I am Remy Claude. The Divination Professor."

Remy wondered how the other staff members would treat him, after all Divination is considered imprecise, but only because there aren't many who know how to use it.

A raven crowed from the skies, circlulating the area Remy was sitting at.

"And that up there, is Holmes." He frowned, his raven only crowed for one of two reasons...

Lolita smiled softly and inclined her head towards Remy, she had never met someone who specialised in Divination but of course she had read about it, maybe this would be her chance to ask some questions about it.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Remy."

Looking up at the skies she smiled as she spotted Holmes, Remy's pet and she thought about Franky that waa currently pigging out on tuna at home.

"He's lovely."

Lolita grinned and gestured to her empty feet.

"Franky, my cat, is in my office."

Remy turned his attention back to Lolita, deciding to investigate Holmes behavior later.

"Franky eh? I always wanted a cat, they're much more loveable than say, ravens. But Holmes gets jealous way to easily." Remy laughed. "In fact maybe that's his problem, he doesn't like me giving someone else attention."

Holmes landed on the nearest wall and gave Remy what could be classified as a glare. Which Remy returned, he never asked for a raven anyway, Holmes just started following him the day after his family died.

"If I may ask Lolita, what do you personally think of Divination?"

Lolita smiled, she remembered that it was in fact not her idea either to get a cat and she remembered just how surprised she had been when she had received it, it was a wonderful present, and it kept her from being too lonely.

"It wasnt my cat, he was a present off my friend up in the school."

Laughing softly Lolita looked at the exchange between Remy and his raven Holmes.

"Awww now he doesn't have to be jealous of me."

When Remy asked her what she thought of Divination Lolita thought it would probably be best to tell him straight what she thought, after all it's not like she completely disbelieved everything that was connected to divination.

"I'm not so sure about it, I've read a few books but I never fully understood it, hopefully though now that ive made your acquaintance you'll be able to change my mind." she smiled

Remy chuckled slightly, looking between Holmes and Lolita.

"He doesn't but he does, and I think an old friend of mine just makes it worst."

When she told him what she truthfully believed in his subject, Remy smiled softly at her words.

"At least you are willing to give it a chance Mon Amie, not many people do. In fact many people have considered me a fruad." He said with a sad look. "A fruad, a schemer, some even think of me as crazy."

"Perhaps I could demonstrate Divination for you later."

Lolita looked at Remy as he seemed to get a little sad about the way that some people viewed his subject, she agreed with him that it was indeed an art, and it was just too bad that some people don't appreciate art.

"Hey, those people are idiots okay? They just don't understand what you're doing and because they don't understand they're afraid and push you away."

Her eyes lit up a little as he said that he might demonstrate it to her later, Lolita had always wanted to see it in action!

"Oh please do! I'm ever so interested in seeing how it's done in reality, instead of reading books theory on how it is done."

Remy smiled widely at Lolita, she was definitely open-minded, just to bad there wasn't many like her around.

He actually laughed at her enthusiasm. "You'll have to come up to my office some time. I'll be more then happy to show you!"

Lolita smiled happily, it seemed as though Remy only wanted to have someone understand and be open minded about his subject.

"I would love to!"

She thought about the question that she had bubbling in her mind.

"What is your favourite aspect of Divination then? Because theres crystal gazing isn't there? And reading tea leaves? And tarot cards..."

Remy thought deeply about her question, he enjoyed several aspects about Divination. But which one was his absolute favorite?

"Hm... if I had to choose, I'd have to say reading tea leaves. It's more subtle than crystal-gazing, and you never know what you might see.

Lolita smiled at the deep look of concentration on his face, it seemed like this was a very hard question, of course it would be like asking her what her favourite book would be, there were just so many things that she could say.

"I see."

With a larger smile Lolita clasped her hands in her lap and grinned softly.

"I think I would be the same, it sounds really interesting, maybe you could teach me about how to read tea leaves...?" she asked hopefully.
