Frank had read about the Silent Wood in the Daily Prophet. Supposedly, the place was both quiet and relatively safe.

The perfect location for an afternoon jog. Seeing as they had vacation this week, the decision to come here had been easily made.

Starting up a jog, Frank wondered if he'd run into anybody or if this place was truly as abandoned as the Prophet had claimed...

Melody hadn't expected anyone to be here so she was surprised to see and nearly run into someone.
"Oh excuse me."

Frank was surprised when he almost ran into a younger girl. Stopping his jog and turning around, he smiled at her.

"Sorry 'bout that. I should 'ave been paying closer attention. You okay?"

The girl, who Frank now recognized was Melody, said she was fine, so Frank didn't have to worry about that.

"Alright, so what you doing here? I'm out for a jog myself, calms me down 'n stuff."

Frank got the impression that Melody was someone of little words.

Smiling, Frank nodded. Melody was right after all.

"Can you jog at a somewhat decent pace? I could use somebody to talk to!"

Smiling, Frank started running slowly.

"How 'bout you set the pace then? That way we won't be going to fast. Alrighty?"

Keeping up the slow jog, Frank asked, "So you're into books then? Any preferences? I'm not much of a reader myself you see."

Frank looked down at the girl, a gentle smile playing on his face.

"I prefer sporting to reading actually. Or if I wanna calm down then I'll head up the Astronomy tower and enjoy the stars. It calms me down."

"The stars are beautiful,"Melody agreed."I find it weird that Quidditch and wizard chess seem to be the only magic world sports, when muggles have so many sports."

Smiling when Melody mentioned the stars being beautiful, Frank smiled. He felt exactly the same way.

"Well, in America broomstick racing is pretty popular. And there's Gobstones which is sort of a sport. And ... Yeah wizards don't sport much. Lazy bunch we are. Muggles don't have magic, so they find other things to entertain and train them, which is why they have so many sports, I guess."

"I don't think that I'd ever use it but what you said makes me wonder if there's thinning spell. It would explain how most people in Hogwarts aren't really fat from all that food or maybe wizards and witches naturally have fast metabolisms."

"Magic probably has something to do with most people being thin. Maybe it filters your food or something. Or maybe they are all secretly members of WeightWatchers and they watch those excercise videos at night."

Deciding that his workout wasn't effective enough, Frank asked, "Would you mind speeding up?"

Frank smiled happily and sped up as well. This was more like it. Grinning, Frank said,

"I thought you preferred books? You're keeping pace pretty nicely."

"I do prefer books but I have to run all the time after my cat Jinxy as soon s I get my wand out she's gone and there's no point in accio when you don't know which direction what your summoning went besides I'm always interested to see where she's running off to.And I read outside a lot, fresh air and good light."

"Ah yeah I remember seeing that cat, you chased it into our common room a few days ago, didn't you? Must have been my animal magnetism which attracted Jinxy." Frank gave an exaggerated wink.

"Reading really ain't my thing, but I can imagine being outside a lot is good for you. It's the reason I came here in the first place."

Frank noticed they were nearing the edge of the forest.

Speeding up, Frank yelled, "Race you to the edge!"

Melody had never tried to out run anyone before and she was pretty sure that she couldn't but there was a first time for most things.

Frank was suprised by how fast Melody could run, but he was two years older and he trained a lot. There was no way he was going to lose this. He sped up even more and he saw the edge of the forest coming closer very fast.

Looking behind him, Frank noticed Melody still keeping up. She was panting though. Frank had no such problem. This was what he loved doing after all. Excercising and competing.

Speeding up to max speed, Frank noticed they'd be crossing the edge of forest in ten seconds or so. Sure of his victory, Frank started to grin.

Melody knew that she should probavly speed up but she doubted that she could go much faster and she only had ten seconds left anyway.

Going all out now, Frank reached the edge of the forest. Slowing down until he stopped, he turned to Melody. Taking a deep breath, Frank spoke between his pants, "Well *pant* that was fun! I'll see *pant* you later, Melody!"

Before pulling out his Portkey and activating it to leave. With a final grin at Melody, Frank felt that all too familiar pull behind the navel.
