Quiet Time at the Library (Kasey and Tess)

Closing her fourth book, she sighed and picked up the other. There was so much to read and so little time. She had managed to find herself having a bit of quiet time and time to herself. If she wasn't with Victoria, then she was with Xander and if she wasn't with either she found herself around Tabi, and now, she managed to wiggle her way to quiet time.

She leaned against the love seat comfortably and smiled knowing that no one came to her corner. It was secluded and something she appreciated, here she didn't need to hear the giggle from girls that were looking at boys, or gossip roaming through the aisles of books. Here was what she wanted to have, a book and the quiet.

Kasey had gotten fed up with how loud a certain table next to him had gotten. As he stood up with his two books, holding them open, he shot them a nasty look. It was a library for Merlin's sake, did these people not get it! It was no place for loud chatter, napping, or snogging. They could do that all else where. He huffed, walking away from the tables to get away from them and look for perhaps a hidden away little area he could get some piece and quite.

He hadn't found one so holding up his books, he read as he walked down and around the many aisles. Occasionally he'd look up to see which section he was in then, glancing at the spines of the books before looking back down. He sighed, the climax of his most recent book taking a nosedive. He'd read all this way and the ending seemed like it was going to be a disappointment. What a shame.

Tess was wrapped up in her book and it was obvious through her body language. She curled up on the love seat and was reading about the last step towards her achievement. She had already had everything she needed to finish her form, she just needed a lock of hair, and a place to meditate.

A tooth, a lock of fur, anything that comes directly from the real animal will be needed to meditate. Once the level of meditation occurs, the items will be burned and a form on incense will occur creating this peaceful moment where one will become one

She read it very carefully not wanting to mess up. By the time she sat down, to currently, she was too lost for her to even notice the giggles and the murmurs being spoken around. Those damned preteens were bothering her more than anything.

"Idiots" she murmured thinking about their stupidity.

Kasey heard a low murmur almost right next to him and he looked over. He raised an eyebrow. Wow, he almost missed the small little area. But it was already occupied by some Slytherin that had the idea before him. He could hardly even hear the obnoxious people only a little bit away.

He looked down and marked the page in the novel and closed it loud enough for her to hear. He supposed she didn't want to be bothered, but he was bored and maybe if he found that she wasn't so bad they could share this area. "Nice little place you found here. I should make sure I get here before you next time, because I swear if I hear one more girl plot to poison some boy with a love potion I might just chuck my book at her." he smirked slightly

She raised her head and looked at him. Well she definitely wasn't expecting that from a Ravenclaw. From his physical appearance, she was definitely not expecting him to be so cynical or grumpy but she found it amusing. A slow smirk emerged from her face and she chuckled a bit. She had to admit it was pretty funny.

"Sorry to tell you, but you'll never get here before me" she said lightly. "This is my spot"

She bit back a chuckle though, as she understood what he meant. It seemed that most girls today were very desperate at Hogwarts. It was so disappointing really, and shameful.

The slytherin smirked and chucked. "Sorry to tell you, but you'll never get here before me "This is my spot."

Kasey crossed his arms with his books in his arms. "Never's a pretty strong word, you know, Slytherin." He shrugged lightly, a joking manner to his voice. "I'm sure I could get myself here one way or another."

The group at the table he'd recently left behind erupted in laughter of which they hardly tried to keep hushed. Kasey sighed and rolled his eyes. "Honestly, these people..." He muttered. He uncrossed his arms and opened his novel again. "Well, I suppose you don't want to be bothered anymore. Though if you know any other little places like this point me to them so I don't have to try to spend my time kicking you out of here." he chuckled.

Tess looked at him, but trailed her eyes away at the giggle and sighed. Placing a bookmark atop of her book she sighed and crossed her legs and looked at him.

"Just sit, I hope you aren't going to be a parasite and pester me. There are a few rules: don't giggle, and you being a boy I don't expect you to...let's hope." she said smirking. "Second, be borderline productive, no mindless chit-chat because if I wanted to do that I'd be joining the giggling girls"

With that she stretched lazily on the couch and pointed to the one across from her in the tiny circle. She moved her books to give him half the table and raised her brow.

"Since none of us bother to have any manners, the names Tess" she added.

Kasey smiled and let out a small laugh "I hope I don't giggle either. If I ever did, then please, hit me over the head or something." He then nodded "Of course, I'd not be complaining about them then if I wanted to chat."

His book still open he walked forward and took a seat on the couch opposite. He set his open book on his lap, and put the other on the table next to her books. "I like your rules so far though. Simple enough for two people who just want some nice time to read."

He smiled a bit and leaned forward, holding his hand out to shake. "Ah, sorry, I'm Kasey."

Tess gave him a friendlier smile as he gave a smile to her. That was just the person she was, tough at first, and depending on how the person was she'd warm up. Leaning forward she shook it.

"Pleasure to meet you" she said. "Though not during these type of consequences"

She found him amusing, similar humor to herself and she found that refreshing, but still, as long as he didn't pester her, or take her spot she didn't mind him there. No one took her spot, not even Xander, she made sure of that.

"First year right?" she asked.
