Back to school (Leshia and Kasey)

Leshia was still tired from her week stay in the hospital wing. Leshia had always hated hospitals but it was nice to have the break. She was still not sure what had happened but she didn't want it to happen again.

She had a lot of work to catch up with so she decided to curl up on one of the couches in the common room with a couple of her books.

She had her feet curled up underneath her with the book on her lap, she was in deep thought in her reading when someone walked up to her and said something.

[Kasey Flynn]

Kasey had come down from his dorm, to settle on the couch and get started on his new book. He put his hand on the back of the couch, running his hand over it as he walked around. humming quietly to himself.

When he walked around and actually looked, there was a girl sitting there, reading. He smiled a little. "Oh, sorry." He noticed she looked tired, worn ...wait perhaps she was that girl he'd heard was in the hospital wing....

He walked around to the other side of the couch to sit down. "Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to join you." he smiled, opening up his book.

Leshia was into the chapter on the potion that she had missed out on when she heard someone say they were sorry. Leshia looked up and saw a boy that was going to sit down with her.

"Hi I am Leshia." Leisha said meekly "You are more than welcome to share my couch." Leshia moved her books

"So I have never seen you before, but then I have been in the hospital."

[Kasey Flynn]

He'd looked down at his book, then glanced back up, smiling. He then closed his book, his finger marking the page, reaching his other hand out. politely. His mother always stressed a proper introduction. "Thanks, I'm Kasey. Nice to meet you."

"Hm, I figured something like that. And I think I did hear something about a ravenclaw girl being in the hospital wing." His hand rested over the cover of his book and he raised his eyebrows a bit. "All better, I hope?"

He glanced down at her potions book, smirking a little. "and more then a little behind on work too, I'm guessing?" He chuckled slightly.

Leshia saw this guy stick out his hand to shake hers and he said his name was Kasey. Leshia puts her hand out too.

"Nice to meet you, too, Kasey" Leshia blushes as she smiled, He was kind of cute she thought

"Yep that was me in the hospital, walked right into the common room and passed out." Leshia's head still hurt a little and she hadn't heard Tabi yet

Looking at all of her books. "Yes, I am very behind in my classes, I might need some help."

"So what classes are you taking?"

[Kasey Flynn]

"Oh, well, maybe I'd be able to help you? I'm in Potions, History, Muggle studies, Charms, Transfiguration and Defense." He tilted his head a bit.

"Though...you're a second year aren't you? I might not be able to be that much help then." He shrugged then smiled a bit, a bit of a challenge may get him a head for next year, she seemed to be nice and pleasant to work with anyways. "If you need it though, I'll try my best." He added, smiling, brushing a curl out of his eyes with his hand.

Leshia smiled at Kasey when he named off the classes that he was taking. "Those are some of the same classes that I take."

Leshia was a little sad when he said that he was only a first year. "Thats ok, you would be surprised what we can learn from each other."

Looking around the room, "You don't have a girlfriend or anything do you, I don't want to get in trouble with anyone."

[Kasey Flynn]

"Oh, well that's great then. Even if we are in different year, you're right. I mean, it does seem to just be a lot of building off of the previous years stuff from what I've seen of other second years work."

He raised an eyebrow a bit when she looked around the room, wondering what ...or who she was looking for. He then cracked a smile at her question. "No, and even if I did, I'd certainly not want to be with someone getting jealous over talking with other people."

Leshia smiled at Kasey "Yes we can never learn too much from each other."

Leshia's smile got a little bit bigger when Kasey stated he didn't have a girlfriend "Well I am really glad to hear that, and I don't like people getting jealous either. It gets really old."

Leshia really like this boy and she thought it was just fair if everyone else around had boyfriends and girlfriends that it was just fair she should be happy.

"Well I guess that boasts well for the two of us because I do not have a boyfriend either. So what kinds of things do you like to do?"

[Kasey Flynn]

He laughed a bit. "Hinting at something are you?"

He leaned back a bit more on the couch. "In that case, getting to know each other would be nice." He smiled and shrugged. "There's not too much to do here...but there's a bunch of good reading spots when the library is too busy. And the courtyards are always sunny and bright. A nice place to relax."

He raised his eyebrows a bit and motioned towards her. "And what about you?"

Leshia could not help but blush a little when he asked if she was hinting something. "Well its not that I would object to the idea."

Leshia decided to turn on the couch so her legs were bent on the couch pulled up to her chest. All of her books now on the table and floor, leaning over her knees listening to Kasey talk about things.

"I find myself outside a lot when its nice. I love a good book laying on a blanket." Leshia smiled. "Do you by chance like to take walks? The trail around the lake is a beautiful site to behold."

Leshia smiled at Kasey as she talked about what she like. "I do have a twin sister, Tabi and she is in Slytherin."

[Kasey Flynn]

He watched her get more comfortable, seeming more interested in what he was saying. "I don't think I would either..." he smiled a bit, then settling in more to listen to her.

"I sometimes take walks, though turns out everywhere I go there are people, so there's never a good place to read." He sighed, every time he had tried, he was either dragged into something that would get him in trouble or come across someone crying or angry, which he usually didn't help all that much.

He raised his eyebrows a bit. "Oh, a twin, really? That's interesting. Really goes to show how different twins are from each other. Though I suppose the two houses aren't all that different. "

"As for me, I've three younger brothers, and my mum wants to have a daughter too. She was in Ravenclaw. And I have no clue what houses my brothers would be in. They're all so different."

[Guest]

Leshia had placed he legs down and moved to sit on one of her legs. "Well I guess this means we talk a little more and see how we fit together." Leshia laughed. "Here I am making us sound like a puzzle."

Listening to Kasey talk about getting pulled into everything going on around him. "I can completely understand that, wait till you met some of my friends, its all drama sometimes." Leshia smiled. "Well Kasey its a good thing that you have met me, I know all sorts of secret reading spots."

Leshia hung her head a little and absentmindedly ed playing with Kasey's knee.

"The houses are as far apart, than you could ever imagine." Wipes a tear. "Sorry don't mean to get all weepy on you, sometimes it is not easy being in Ravenclaw when you home is a Slytherin household."

Leshia thought about Tabi and how she really had not seen her since she left the hospital. "My sister and I are not your typical twins, but I do have a little brother."

[Kasey Flynn]

Kasey laughed a little, shrugging "Well why not? Everyone's always trying to figure out how they fit together or figure themselves out and what big picture they make up. So I think puzzle is appropriate."

He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Oh goodness. Really what is with people and their need to make a big deal of their problems." He then smiled when she mentioned her secret reading spots, "Oh, do you now? We'll definitely need to check those places out then."

He saw her hang her head, looking upset. "Oh...you're part of a very traditional family, aren't you? I'm sorry to hear that...Though if you ask me the two houses do hold similarities. Both are very smart and clever first of all."

He sighed "I'm sure sooner or later they'll come around. You're still their daughter. They're smart enough to know you're still you."

Leshia like the idea of being a puzzle with Kasey, many things come out when you try to put pieces together.

"Its just you and me, and we can take everything at or own pace, how we feel." Leshia smiled.

Leshia had to laugh when he comment about people making big deals out of everything. "Yes a small problem, becomes world war three before anyone knows it." Leshia did not like a lot of drama.

Leshia was continuing to play with Kasey's knee, almost like she was drawing a pattern on it as she talked about her past.

"It is really hard, and I do not have a lot of friends around here that I can talk too. I have a couple but they are always busy." Leshia sighed as she continued to look at his knee.

"I know my mom is ok and accepting to some extent, but its my dad I worry about. I feel like I failed them somehow." Leshia looked up at him.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to unload on you."

[Kasey Flynn]

((Oh, it's fine. No worries. Sorry I've been taking so long.))

Kasey smiled, "Yeah, alright, whatever you want." Being only eleven though, he didn't really know what other pace there would be, especially considering they'd just met. Maybe it was a regular thing for students to get together at this age. It did seem plenty of the first years already had established relationships.

He frowned a little, watching her hand on his knee. "Well, then you try to make some others, try to make sure that you can catch your other friends at times they can talk."

"Think of it this way. Houses don't define us. Not entirely, we're already are own person by the time we're sorted. We can have more traits of another house and still be put in another. It's the place where we'll develop the most and in the best way as a person. If you were in any other house you'd not be able to be the best person you could be." He said all this with all the things his mother told him in mind. She constantly stressed the importance of individuality and being one's personal best.

[Guest]

Leshia listened to what Kasey had to say about everything. "Well I wasn't meaning running into a relationship. I mean its just you and me and we take things as they go. Start out as friends."

Leshia noticed that Kasey frowned a little as he caught he drawing on his knee. "So didn't mean to do that, I was sort of zoning out."

Leshia smiled as Kasey talked about how we define ourselves. "I can understand why I am in Ravenclaw, its just hard when I am at home. Being here is not a problem."

[Kasey Flynn]

Kasey shrugged. "Well of course." He nodded once and smiled a bit.

He shook his head as Leshia apologized. "Oh, no, it's fine. It's just that my littlest brother does that...I suppose I'm a bit homesick is all."

He smiled a little bit back, "Well that's good. Can't imagine if someone felt out of place here and at home. Considering we'll be spending most of out days here for several years, this place should be an enjoyable place. Though...I hope your parents wise up and realize that it shouldn't matter too much because you're gonna thrive here. "

Leshia smiled when Kasey nodded about them being friends. "Well I am glad, I need a few more friends. Especially cute one like you." Leshia blushed a little.

She really did like Kasey, but she knew it was not smart to rush into anything.

"I can understand being homesick, I was like that a little my first year. I have a little brother at home and he is the one I miss the most." Leshia smiled

"Well as long as you continue to be my friend maybe you can help me get through any hard times I have." Leshia looked up at Kasey. "I hope you won't mind if I vent at you once in awhile."

[Kasey Flynn]

Kasey smiled and couldn't help but let out a short, relaxed laugh. "Well, thank you. Same to you." He said, raising his eyebrows a bit.

"Ah, so a twin and a little brother. How old is he? Mine are all quite a bit younger than me. I must say, it's different going from a busy household to a large place like this. Though admittedly it's nice to have the privacy." He said, cracking a small smile. A house with three baby brothers never left any time for peace, even in the middle of the night.

Kasey nodded. "Sure. I'd be glad to be there for you. I don't think I'd mind all that much. I'll let you know when I do though." he smiled, half-joking.

Leshia smiled when Kasey said the same thing to her, " I believe I should say thanks, and your welcome. Leshia hoped that someday their friendship would grow.

Leshia smiled when he asked about her brother. She had actually been missing him, he was just a little guy. "He is 6, and his name is Landen. He is my world when I am at home, it keeps my mind clear."

Leshia leaned in to give Kasey a hug. "Thank you, and I expect you to tell me if I get annoying." Leshia pulled back and smiled.

[Kasey Flynn]

Kasey smiled when she talked about her little brother, "That's great. I've got three, all younger. Seven, four, and two. Little hellions but their sweet when they want to be."

He was a bit surprised when she had leaned in to hug him, but he hugged back a bit before she pulled away. He smirked. "Oh, no worries, I will."

He sighed, looking over at the clock on the wall when it chimed. "It's gotten late." He looked back at her and smiled a bit. "Hey, since it's near break. I'll give you my address and we can write over holidays. How does that sound?"

Leshia was excited that she was going to have at least one friend to write too during the holidays.

"Sure, that is easy enough for me." Exchanging addresses she looked at him and hated to have to leave so soon.

"Well I guess this is good night and I will see you soon."

Leshia didn't know what she was thinking but she bent down and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She thought as her friend he deserved it.
