Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Lesson Four - Third Years

Post by Darcie Vane Mon May 28, 2012 9:47 pm

Darcie walked happily into her lesson, truth be told she was a little sad that she was leaving, after all she had seen many pupils in her class lately and she was getting more and more attached to them as the year had gone on, and it was hard to believe that it was now the last lesson of the year!

Pouting a little bit she sat down on the desk, and she carried a large bundle of sweets that she had with her, to give to the students, placing a chocolate dragon, much like the chocolate frogs, but in the shape of dragons, on each students desk she hoped they would like them.

On the board she wrote the lesson topic:

'Drink of Despair Potion '

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Post by Dmitra Diamante Mon May 28, 2012 11:44 pm

Dmitra happily walked to the Dark Arts classroom, looking forward to her first, and last, Dark Arts lesson of the year. She had joined as a new student too late in the year, but it was never too late for learning something new.

Dmitra knocked on the door once, then stepped in. The Dark Arts Instructor looked surprisingly cheerful for someone teaching her subject, but Dmitra didn't believe in stereotypes anyway. So she wished the teacher politely, "Good morning Professor. i'm Dmitra Diamante, the new student. I just signed up for your class last week."

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Noah sat down at the back of class. He didn't like being the new kid, and hoped that no one would mention it. Glaring at his books he sighed, he would probably be behind in this class already, which was annoying as this was the class he was most looking forward to and didn't want people treating him like he was an idiot.

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Post by Lucian Ciero Wed May 30, 2012 9:46 pm

Lucian walked into the lesson, he was just wanting to go home and see his sister Raziel now, the end of term was so near, and he was more than a little annoyed that his apprenticeship had been almost useless because the only thing they had done together was argue over his runic tattoo's.

Sighing he looked at the other students in the lesson and greeted them all with a customary;

"Yo."

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Post by Vladimir Wazowski Wed May 30, 2012 9:56 pm

Vladimir walked into the lesson, he had been looking forward to the last lessons of the year most of the time they were funner than the others and he hoped that it was going to be as he had thought, but he never knew with the Professors in Durmstrang, most of them were moody and seemed as if they didn't want to be here.

Sighing lightly he smiled at the Professor and the other classmates, and wondered what they were going to be able to to this lesson. Hopefully it would be something interesting.

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Darcie smiled widely she could see that there were so many people here now and it did her heart good to see so many people interested in the subject that she was teaching, she was so happy to put the extra effort in if people wanted to be able to enjoy it.

"Hello students, welcome to your last lesson of the year, please enjoy your chocolate dragons while we get started, they're a little present for each of you." she said with a happy smile.

With a slightly lesser smile, she decided to start the lesson, and she tapped the board lightly;

"So can anyone tell me a little bit about the Drink of Despair potion? You'll get some points for your house if you can."

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Dmitra bit off an end of the chocolate dragon then closed her eyes in gastronomic bliss, it was really good.

Then on hearing the question, she raised her hand slowly and spoke hesitatingly, "Uh Professor...Im not sure......but as far as I remember, the Drink of Despair potion is one that causes a feeling of great hopelessness and despair in the target. Morale and willpower is one of the strongest shields of an enemy, and the Drink of Despair potion helps us to break that. They think they have lost the war before it is even fought."

Darcie saw that there was an answer that was being offered and she allowed the student to speak, she wanted to hear what the students already knew, and she made a small smile when she heard the answer, although not completely on the right track, she was getting there.

"Well done for trying! Although it's not quite the right answer, take five points however for Muhe."

With a larger smile, Darcie decided to tell the class the correct answer, and she hoped that they would be able to understand the effect of the potion.

"Could you note this division down please, The Drink of Despair is a mysterious potion which induces fear, delirium, and extreme thirst. The drink cannot be penetrated by hand, vanished, parted, scooped up, siphoned away, Transfigured, Charmed, or made to change its nature in any way. It can only be drained away by drinking."

Darcie wrote all of this down on the board, and turned to face the rest of the class; "Can anyone tell me what colour this potion is?"

Dmitra raised her hand again. She didn't quite know why she was doing this, she was merely embarassing herself and acting like she was the only student in class. Still, she was here to learn, and the only way of doing so was by asking and answering questions, and by trying even though she didn't know the correct answer always.

"Emerald green?" she offered.

Darcie smiled happily and she nodded her head when she saw the same student offering up an answer to her question and this time it was a hundred percent correct, she was glad because she was able to give out housepoints again;

"Well done! 10 points to Muhe!" she said with a happy little grin on her lips "Can anyone tell me an example of when this potion was used, or where it could be used in a real life situation?"

Hoping that they would be able to think of some solutions to her question Darcie hoped that they would do, she loved giving housepoints out.

Lesson Four - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Third Years

Post by Lucian Ciero Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:39 am

Lucian had been sitting back, rather bored if he was honest, and simply watching as that one annoying girl answered all of the questions. Seeing that the girl had not answered yet he lazily raised his hand,

"You could use it to cover up something of importance." he shrugged a little bit, "Hide something in a bowl of it and you'd have to drink it to get to the item."
