Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Raven 'The Sweeney' Drake Mon May 28, 2012 9:57 pm

Raven had found herself flicking between emotions more and more the past few weeks, after all she had killed her son not a few days ago and it was something that she felt no remorse for whatsoever, it was something that she hoped that she was going to be able to control.

Sitting on the cieling, she looked down at the desks, her legs crossed and her hair was hanging down wondering if any of the students would wonder where she was, she hoped that the lesson would end soon, she needed to see Konig after all.

The lesson point was on the board;

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Skylar Stoev Tue May 29, 2012 8:49 am

Skylar groaned, when he finally walked in just to see that there were no other students in the classroom. What was wrong with him these days? First, he would not show up to most classes, now he was turning up first as if he was actually looking forward to it? He really needed to get a life and just stay either out of school or in school. Grades were still somehow important...maybe staying in school would be a better choice.

He took his seat, in the middle so he wouldn't get picked on but he wouldn't look like he was slacking off either. The subject of today's lesson didn't alarm him; how hard would it be to burn paste, right? The answer; probably very hard, for someone who disliked potions with a passion and didn't even know why he chose to do it.

Maybe it was the fact that it didn't seem hard at first.

Hugo walked into class ad took his seat at the back. He was bored and smiled at the other student knowing nothing about him but it didn't really matter not right now. It was almost summer. He was going to enjoy it with Kat.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Post by Dimitrius Skaia Tue May 29, 2012 2:44 pm

Dimitrius walked into the classroom, a confused look etched on his face as he noticed that the professor wasn't in her usual spot of in front of the classroom. A slight swaying caught his eye, and he looked up slowly, jumping to the side a bit when he noticed the woman on the ceiling.

Jeez, she scared the hell outta me. He thought to himself, deciding to sit in the front of time. Normally he would be in the middle, but it looked like the professor was happily taking that spot - on the ceiling that was.

He set his satchel down on his desk and smiled to himself slightly, shaking his head. She had gotten him good, that was for sure. He faintly wondered if the other students had seen Professor Drake on the ceiling.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty lesson four potions

Post by Annika Bauermeister Wed May 30, 2012 3:48 pm

Annika walked into the classroom, wondering if any would notice that Alexandra wasn't there. Hoping she wouldn't have to try to explain things, she crossed her fingers and hoped.

As she entered she noticed that not only was she the only girl so far, the professor wasn't immedidatley visible. Then she noticed that one of the boys was looking up toward the ceiling. When she glanced in that direction she saw what he was looking at.

The Sweeney was not looking at all pleased with things and Annika knew that today was going to be difficult. Taking her seat across from Hugo, she wrote the name of the potion on her scroll and waited quietly for class to begin.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Raven jumped down from the ceiling and she frowned at the two new students it was so obvious that they were new because they had no idea she hated interacting with students, especially annoying new ones that she didn't know.

Landing on her feet she ran her hand through her hair and sat down on the desk with her legs extended out in front of her. Raven said in a sharp voice "Burn paste, a simple creation to make."

Tapping the board the ingredients and recipe appeared;

Ingredients:

Asp scales, (4)
Rose quartz dust, (1 Cup)
Mahogany oil (1 Tablespoon)
Aconite (1 Cup)
Base Paste

Method:

1. Add base potion to a cauldron on medium heat, let it warm for a few minutes.
2. Add one cup of aconite followed by two asp scales, then wait until the potion turns a blue colour, when it does so, turn the potion down to a simmering heat
3. Add the cup of roze quartz dust and the other two asp scales, then wait until the potion turns purple.
4. Turn up the heat to a high level and leave for 5 minutes, before adding the mahogany oil.
5. Keep the potion on the heat until it turns a brown colour, then take off the heat.

Raven looked at the students and barked; "Brew this potion on your own, begin."

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Not wanting to work with any of the boys, Annika quickly wrote down the ingredients and went to the supply shelves. There she grabbed her supplies and double checked to make sure she had everything. Then returning to her cauldron she began to carefully and thoroughly follow the instructions for this potion. She didn't want any mistakes, especially today. She had been in this class enough to know that with the Sweeney looking the way she did today, any mistake could have nasty consequences.

She was nearly done when she began to think about Alex and realized that she missed having her in class. Even though they weren't close friends, it had given her at least another girl she could work with. Tears began to form and she quickly wiped them away, double checked her potion again and hurriedly finished it. Sitting down to write out her steps, and observations she tried not to let the tears fall.

Lesson Four - Second Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - Second Years

Dimitrius rolled up his sleeves and grabbed the ingredients he needed from the supply shelves. He double-checked to be sure he had everything that he needed before making his way back to his seat and more importantly his cauldron. He added the base potion to his cauldron and tapped his fingers on the desk, waiting a few minutes for it to warm a bit.

Peeking into his cauldron, he figured it was indeed warm enough for him to begin the next step. He made sure he had exactly one cup of aconite, before grabbing the two asp scales. Pouring the aconite into the cauldron, he was careful not to spill any. He set the empty cup down and added the two asp scales, crossing his arms and keeping an eye on the potion. He turned the potion heat down when he saw his potion had indeed taken on a blue hue.

He added the cup of rose quartz dust and the other two asp scales, dusting off his fingers while he waited for a color change in his potion yet again. He turned up the heat on his cauldron when he saw it turn purple. He seemed to have a little bit of time, but he didn't dare do anything but watch his potions. After all, who knew what could happen. When his five minutes were up, he added the one tablespoon of mahogany oil.

He watched to be sure his potion was doing well, and when it turned brown, he took it off the heat. Waiting for it to cool a bit, he sat the cauldron too the side and started cleaning up. He finally bottled up his potion in a little vial and cleaned his cauldron out. Sitting back down in his seat, he looked at the vial of potion he had made and waited for everyone else to finish.
