Browsing the Ship (Invite Only) - Page 2 Empty Re: Browsing the Ship (Invite Only)

Tears started to fall down Lars' cheeks. He hated them, he was not the type to ever cry, or show his emotions in any way. Emotions were vulnerabilities enemies could exploit. That was all he had been taught about them. Lars just couldn't believe he was showing how he felt to this girl he had just met.

"Y-y-you ac-act-actually b-b-b-b-believe th-th-that?" he asked her, putting against her shoulder and crying. He had just pulled up long enough to say that, and then started crying into her again. How was she able to pull him out of his shell so easily? It was, nice, but made him vulnerable, weak, open to attack. His training said don't trust anybody, and a beautiful woman had been the reason of more than one genius, weapons inventor, power-hungry, or demented person being stopped. World domination enthusiasts often failed because of a woman. They were pretty, but dangerously so. Love was definitely a double-edged sword, not that he knew it was love, or considered it. But, strong feelings, and trusting somebody was always a risk. "S-sorr-rr-ry, a-all that s-s-salt is g-going to r-r-ruin y-your c-cl-cl-clothes." he said with a watery smile, looking up at her. The lump in his throat was huge.

He waited for himself to calm a little bit. Then he continued, "I may be a genius in some ways, but on the emotional side of things, I don't know which way is up, and which is down. Nor how to climb out of this bottom, and reach the mountaintop. My family is full of murderers, liars, cheats, abusive people physically, as well as mentally, and everybody who tries to behave nicely is cut off from the family name. I want to change that; but, I just don't know how." Lars explained to her.

It was a sad, cynical way to view his situation. But that was how he felt about it, he knew he was miserable. The only small forms of escape he found was when learning about people, and cultures that weren't so vicious. All humans were mean to each other, but he loved reading autobiographies of people who loved each other. Family-oriented stories, that was how he categorized them. He dreamed of that, a loving family. With a loving wife, and daughters that looked just like her, and acted like her. He didn't want them to be so cynical; like the rest of the Wilhelms were, and how he thought he was.

"You'll do great, Seffi. Just follow me, one, two, three. One, two, three." he said in a rhythmic way. He would continue until she got the waltz pattern. Then he just focused on making her feel special. "Seffi, you are the most amazing lady I've ever had the honor of dancing with. Thank you for this, it means more to me than...well, anything else to be honest." Lars told her, blushing a beet red as he did so. Complimenting girls like this, well this was something he never did. All he saw in Seffi Dresner though, was the most amazing things. He was blind to her faults, all of them.

"Even if you would have hated it, you would have done well. Wouldn't have taken much work to make you look beautiful Seffi. You could don a gown of rags, and still be the most beautiful person in the room, the country, the continent, and the world. They did well to teach you about the mind, it is a vital part of learning more about yourself. Understanding yourself, is very important, and it helps you understand others. Especially people like me, who have more issues than most. I am the most despicable person I know, my thoughts...they are disgusting." he said, with clear disdain, and self-hate laced throughout his tone.

Lars knew it wasn't healthy to think like that, but nobody else knew how violent he was. Lars was barely able to contain his rage at the world. Kick a dog, or a human, around long enough, and they will want to bite back if they are given the chance. All he knew of the world was pain, suffering, power-hungry, evil, murderers, who didn't know how to be anybody's friend. Also, despite their smarts, what the frame of mind of a loving family felt like. It was clear, this Seffi knew how to love people, and how to be a friend. He admired her for that, and he couldn't express that through any eloquent speech.

Just through his actions toward her, that was how to show it. He looked at her, and tried to impress upon with his gaze what he felt for her. How thankful he was for her, how she was beautiful in physical, mental, and emotional ways. She was just, wonderful, and he knew at that moment he would always be in love with her. Lars couldn't stop himself from admitting it, and his cheeks blushed a brilliant, rosy red, for the umpteenth time that night. At least, that is what it seemed like. Lars stopped dancing, and kissed her on the cheek, "Thank you, Lady Dresner. You are a wonderful dancer."

Seffi's eyes widened as soon as she realised that Lars was actually crying. It was so sudden that she had to blink a few times in surprise. What had she said that had made him cry? Had she offended him in someway? She patted him on the head as he cried into her shoulder. She made soft cooing noises until he lifted his head, the tears seemingly dried up,

"Well I do believe it so you should too! And don't worry about my clothes, it's nothing one of those cleaning spells won't fix in a snap!"

Seffi couldn't help but smirk slightly, "Slightly messed up emotions? Gee I would never have guessed. Well your family's deeds are your family's deeds Lars. They're not yours and they can't shape you unless you let them."

"Well I don't think I'm ever doing to be doing this for money... Looks like I have two left feet at the moment." she commented before blushing and smacking him lightly on the arm when she stepped on his foot, "You're distracting me... but thank you."

"Don't put yourself down so readily Lars otherwise everyone else will be convinced that you're right and right now you're proving something I heard awhile ago..." she flicked him on the forehead, "Smart people sure are stupid."

"Oh hush, I'm not a lady..." she blushed slightly before grinning and kissing his cheek, "Unless you're a gentleman and not a mad scientist."

"It isn't that easy to change your own view of yourself. You might have to fix me up, Seffi. Stitch up all the wounds that have been inflicted on my heart. I'm so glad I met you..." he said. It had seemed almost instantly, she had started healing him. Changing some of the beliefs about himself to a little uncertain. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't a complete monster.

"Seffi, how did you get to be so wise for an eleven-year old girl. That is exactly, exactly what I needed to hear right now." Lars said, trying to impress upon her how important this had been to him. "You are my new best friend, and my first friend at Durmstrang. No matter what happens, I will never forget what happened here, not ever." he said, hugging her tightly, and kissing her on the cheek before he pulled away.

"What do you mean by doing this for money?" he said, why had her mind jumped to that. "Is that what you think of when you hear the Wilhelm name, just money? Or, do you think dating me would make it look like you are a gold-digger or something?" his mind always assumed the worst, that was what he hated about himself. Why he knew he was evil, it was his pessimism that did it. Plus his love of designing killing machines.

"I'll try, Miss Dresner. You may have to help me with learning to think better of myself though. I don't really.....don't really know how to..." he admitted, forcing the words out. "I know we are." Lars said, flashing his ivories at her.

It felt like where her lips had touched his skin, that an electric current had burned him. His cheek was bright red he knew, but there was something else odd about it. He suddenly wanted to kiss her on the lips. "Every girl is a lady, Miss Dresner. That is what I believe, so get over it. I am a gentleman than, because you are most definitely a lady. I am doing my best not to kiss those perfectly sculpted lips of yours right now. It is so very tempting Seffi." Lars told her, blushing a tomato red.
