getting out to explore-open to anyone

Waking from a short nap and finding her sister still gone, Mirri decided to explore her new home. Most of the students were finishing up the last classes of the year, rushing around saying good-bye and getting things ready to go home for summer break. Not knowing anyone she found it easy to slip out un-noticed. She decided she would be able to check out the school anytime and so she wanted to explore the forest just outside the walls of the school.

Climbing trees and hiking had always helped her relax and feel better. Besides who knows what kinds of plants and animals lived in the thick forest. Following a narrow path she came around a bend and discovered a beautiful glade with a small river flowing through it. "WOW!! this is absolutely gorgeous. I am so glad I came to Durmstrang. Look at all these trees to climb."

Walking along the river she began thinking about home. As much as was glad to be here with Eleri, she was worried about the younger girls at home. Father wasn't the kindest person to live with, and home was never really peaceful.

Suddenly a large lovely fish leaps from the water and made a huge splash re-entering. Laughing Mirri took a long blade of grass and tried to lure the fish to her. When he didn't respond, she put the grass in her mouth, and lay back on the grass. It was so quiet, and the fluffy clouds so interesting that she must have dozed off. The next thing she knew she was becoming chilled and upon opening her eyes she noticed it was getting dark.

Jumping to her feet she began really looking around, "Where is my torch and water bottle. I know I put them down somewhere around here. Oh, Eleri is going to be so angry. I didn't even leave a note. Mother was right, I'm totally irresponsible. I can't even see the path and I don't remember where I came into this place. Won't someone come along to help me. Please."

Trying to keep from crying and totaly stressing out she sat down again by the river and began singing a lullaby that she had learned from a friend when she was very little.

[Cain Valerian]

Cain was wandering in the Faerie glade, and he had noticed that there were increasing amounts of humans being seen in there, which was not only making the faeries jittery but his herd too, they would have to move on from this place soon, in case one of them were to be seen.

Sighing, his head whipped around when he heard someone, it sounded like a child asking for help, he could not simply leave the child in trouble and so he stepped out of the bushes he was behind and walked to where the young witch was sitting by the river.

Her song was very sweet and he loathed to interrupt her, but Cain coughed politely and stepped forwards;

"Do not be alarmed, I am here to help you, you sounded like you were in difficulties."

Lomasi was first year Durmstang she seemed fearless all the same. She knew that there was danger being out here but what could one say. She had no one to take care of her but herself. She wonder around she felt some type of things where buzzing around her fairy and she stumble around all the same.

She was not about to tell anyone but she escape where her parent where. They went crazy when the magic start all the same. She was mud blood she was so quiet she heard something moved and when something crawl on the back of her head. It felt liked it was bug but they that is. She was not one to become stress on one things. She simple stolen another one that was one thing from another.

She was a lot liked fox she bury the item then come back to meal but it was usually water bottle nothing gross because they would rotten but she start to move through the grass she used bared hand she had collect one of the water bottle she took a sip of the water. Then she bury back in place. The reason for theft her parent desert her when her magic start happened all the same. She relate mainly on her skill of being theft all the same and she wonder through the grass quietly watching from bushes she saw this centaur and she watch his moment all the same.

When she heard someone speaking she was so relieved that the tears began to flow unbidden. "Thank you so much. I just got to Durmstrang and my sister was teaching so I went for a walk and fell asleep. now I can't find my way back. She's going to be so upset because I didn't tell anyone where I was going. Do you think you could show me the path. I promise, I won't be a bother or tell anyone who helped. I know your herds don't like to be bothered."

Then taking a good look at Cain's face she smiled the biggest smile of her life. This handsome Centaur was the answer to her plea for help, and one of the best looking creatures she had met yet. But she knew that it had to remain her secret. She also promised herself not to go exploring without someone else with her. At least not until she got more familiar with her new home.

Fearing Eleri's anger would be equal to that of her Father, she slowly rose to her feet and approached the Centaur.

[Cain Valerian]

Cain nodded his head, he could not help but feel like he was being watched and he peered into the background of the woodland foliage, seeing nobody there however he merely placed the idea in the back of his mind and looked onwards, back towards the young student.

Chuckling a little, Cain smiled rather sadly, like he normally did now, and he wondered how the child had managed to get here from the German school, it was a way away after all.

"I shall help you find the way back to Durmstrang little one, have no fear I no longer care whether my intenity remains secret, so you can tell your friends of this encounter if you truly wish to." he lightly grinned.

Holding out his hand to the child Cain bowed down, bending his front knee; "I am Cain, Cain Valerian."

"How nice to meet you Mr. Valerian. My name is Mirri Kinne my sister Eleri Ddrag is the Charms teacher at the school. I didn't mean to wander so far from there but I love the forest and the peace I find here and just sort of kept walking. This is the most amazing forest I've ever seen. It feels almost alive. Thank you for stopping to help me. If you ever need anything that I can do please tell me. Especially if it means I get to come here again."

Taking his hand and grinning up at him she brushed the hair from her eyes, and took one last look around at the forest. She couldn't help but feel that the trees were actually watching her and trying to communicate. Her parents would have told her she was crazy, but she'd had this type of thing happen many times growing up. Maybe that's why she love herbology so much.

Looking back at Cain she nodded to let him know she was ready to leave.

Cain was glad that the girl, Mirri was someone who seemed to appreciate the honour of the forest and of the creatures that inhabit it, although not all of the creatures were things that would appreciate human company and it was something that he did not want...the death of another innocent.

With a quiet sigh, Cain merely let out a smile when he listened to her;

"Well what if I told you that the trees were alive, there are many sprites and nymphs that live in these forests, and they make the trees alive, they communicate with each other too." he smiled gently.

Now that she was up, Cain cast a look back to the area he thought that somebody was there, but could not be sure, maybe he was just paranoid after the attack on his herd;

"Follow me then kinder." he grinned and began to walk as the crow flies north out of the forest "If all else fails, walk north."
