Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Fourth Years - Second Lesson

Post by Richard Romain Mon Jun 25, 2012 11:43 pm

Richard was rolling a small marble around on the desk, just waiting for all of his students to arrive. They were going to be doing something a lot more difficult today and if they got it wrong it might come back to bite them. Oh they'd be fine of course but they might get a little bit bruised.

Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Re: Fourth Years - Second Lesson

He was the first student to arrive in the transfiguration classroom. Picking the seat in front of the desk, he unpacked his things. "Good morning Professor Romain, how are you today?" Humphrey asked him. Transfiguration was always interesting, even if it was difficult at times.

Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Re: Fourth Years - Second Lesson

Entering the classroom, she saw that her Professor was in a mood she couldn't really put a title to. She smiled brightly though and sat in her usual seat waiting for the others to arrive.

Airen entered the classroom. He looked around at the rest of his classmates that had showed up. He noticed that he was the third to arrive. He walked to his normal seat at the front.

"Good morning, Professor," he greeted politely.

Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Re: Fourth Years - Second Lesson

Post by Charlotte Smith Wed Jun 27, 2012 7:47 am

Charlotte walked into the lesson and she wondered what was going on when she saw that there was only one other person and her actually in the lesson already, normally she liked to be early but lately she had been feeling more and more awkward when she had been in classes, she barely knew anyone apart from Airen and Humphrey.

Sighing a little she sat down and got out her things to begin to work, hopefully she would be able to at least get the work done this lesson, she had been more than distracted in her other classes.

Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Re: Fourth Years - Second Lesson

Victoria walked into class, feeling light a weight had been lifted since her part of the tournament was over. It had really taken up most of her thoughts through the summer, and now she had this odd feeling of not really knowing what to do with herself.

Deciding to bury herself back into classwork, she took her usual seat and waited for class to start.

Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Re: Fourth Years - Second Lesson

Richard looked around the class a little bit bored, humming to himself as he tried to think about how he was going to introduce this spell. He nodded a little bit before standing up,

"Now class... as you may know, the hardest thing for a transfiguration-specialised witch or wizard can fight against is an object moving quickly." he told them, "Someone fires an arrow at you and chances are it's not going to stop and wait for you to turn it into a table. And to be honest, you don't really want a table flying at you either. What you want... is a pebble."

He took up a piece of chalk and wrote the name of the spell on the board, 'Pembron'. Richard turned to his class,

"This spell is easy. You say the spell, point it at the object in motion and envision it changing. Just do it quickly." he told them before picking up a rubber ball, "I'm going to throw this at one of you. You must change it before it hits you... Victoria!"

He threw the rubber ball rather slowly at Victoria.

Charlotte listened to what they were supposed to do and she could not help but want to hide away from the lesson, if she couldn't change the object not only would she be hurt, she would look like a complete idiot in front of all of the other students.

Her breath caught in her throat when the ball was thrown but luckily it wasn't at her, it was at Victoria, she hoped that she would be able to change it in time before it hit her however.

Fourth Years - Second Lesson Empty Re: Fourth Years - Second Lesson

Victoria knew that reaction speed wasn't her problem. She could move faster than anyone in the class. Not opinion, fact. But the creature powers that allowed her to do so also had a fall back.

It meant that regular wizard spells didn't tend to come so easily to her as most people. That's why she took notes on everything. She spent more time than most, she assumed, just practicing the spells.

This all ran through her head as she pointed her wand and said, "Pembron." The spell was too weak, and she knew it. Raising her hand, she caught the rubber ball right as it was about to hit her square in the nose.

"Sorry, professor. I'll get it eventually." She gave him a sad half smile and tossed it lightly back.
