Not From Around? (Laurena & Takata)

Laurena entered the Zur Letzten Instanz, the pub at Goldenen Straße. She needed to go out more. Working at Die Krankhieten Haus as the head heilung, she was always busy. Today, she finally found a chance to relax. Working with all those patients were just plain exhausting. "I'll 'ave water for now, thank you," Laurena said as she sat down at the bar. The bartender nodded and gave her a glass. Magic was really useful nowadays.

She looked around the pub. There were only a few people in there, which was fine. Better than those clubs she always passed by. The quietness of the pub got Laurena to relax. Taking a sip of her water, she turned just in time to see someone else walking in.

Takata was in his jacket. The kind with the fluff to keep warm. He was lugging along with him a tourist bag.

From Britian? He ought to have brought an entire tank regiment with him to come to Germany for holiday. But he did not fear. He was from Japan. They ought not to have discriminated against him as he was a Japanese?

"Please, may I have some uhm... Beer?" Takata hesitated. There was no way they had Sake or Green Tea here.

"May I sit here?" Takata asked a lady who was looking at him, while gesturing at the seat.

Laurena carefully watched the man who entered. He was Japanese. What would he be doing to Germany? Or perhaps he was some sort of British spy?

She took, once more, a sip of water. She continued drinking until she finished it. She sighed. "Butterbeer, please," Laurena said to the bartender. He nodded and gave her one right away. She took a few sips. Laurena stopped sipping when the Japanese man asked her if he could sit beside her.

"'Eh, sit anyvere you vant," she said, shrugging. Her thick Russian accent was heard as she spoke. "Not from 'round, eh?" she asked.

Takata bowed slightly, and settled his bag at the side, grabbing the mug of beer and giving it a sip, trying hard not to gag at the heavy taste of it, unlike sake.

"I'm from Japan. I'm here on holiday." Takata smiled, extending his hand to the lady.

"Russian? Or... Name's Takata. Takata Umi." Takata smiled.

Laurena listened as the man replied. "Japan? Is not zat in Asia? You came to Germany just to go on vacation?" she asked.

She nodded, taking another sip of butterbeer. "Yes, I'm from Moscow, but I vas born in Dusseldorf," Laurena said, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Umi. I'm Laurena Reinstadtler." Reaching her hand out to shake his, she smiled politely.

"I teach Occulumency in Hogwarts... NOW NOW!" Takata said, raising his hand a little.

"I came here STRICTLY for a holiday. Not to have my head blown off. Yes that is in Asia. I came from Sapporo to be exact. You heard of Sapporo?" Takata asked, gulping a little.

Laurena nodded her head. "Ah, Occlumency. I'm head Heilung - healer, I mean - at Die Krankhieten Haus, the German wizarding hospital. And I work as a Besturmen for the Ministry," she said.

She listened to what Takata said, blinking only when he asked her if she has heard of Sapporo. She managed to shake her head. "Ah, no. I haven't heard of Sapporo yet.." Laurena said.

"Head Healer? Or... Nevermind. You must have been excellent at healing then. In Japan, I was a student of Muggle Medicine at Hospital of Sapporo and Shizuoka prefecture. Besturmen? Begging your pardon, gomenasai... Eto... What is that?" Takata asked, sipping his beer and grimacing, before settling it aside.

At least she took the fact that he came from Britian easily...

"Sapporo famous for their Snow Festivals! Large statues of snow in town! You have to witness it one day!" Takata smiled.

"Yes, I am quite excellent. Although it's hard, having to work everyday. Muggle medicine? Ah, not as good as the wizard kind, but at least they actually work," Laurena said, "Besturmen is the German equivalent to Aurors."

She shrugged. "I don't really think I'd have enough time. Since... you know, I work for the Ministry and Die Krankhieten Haus." she said

"Yes, I work in the muggle world when wizard holiday is on. I like to keep busy." Takata smiled, wondering whether this would come across as weird to her.

"Ah... But a lady as young as you should be enjoying life shouldn't you?" He spoke, quite unaware of the fact that he was young as well.

Laurena simply nodded after hearing Takata liked to keep busy. It sounded rather uncommon to her, since she thought people didn't want to work or study too much. Maybe it was like that where he came from?

Then she smiled, shrugging. "Well, I do think I'm enjoying my life while I work for Die Krankhieten Haus and the Ministry. After all, I am helping the Germans. For me, I think it's nice to be helping other people besides yourself," Laurena said, "And I think I'm only as young as you. Shouldn't you be enjoying life, too?"

"Ah... But enjoying life is to work and help people for me. This war thing... I take no sides." Takata frowned, though this was also within reason. He was Japanese. Not British nor German. Maybe he would take sides if the students he taught were under danger... But he highly doubted so.

"So how is being an Auror different in the German society? Now that You-Know-Who is gone?" Takata asked, pushing the half-full beer aside.

Laurena nodded. "Ah. You take no sides? Well, seeing as I'm German, I'm on the German side. As long as the children are safe, though, I have nothing to do with the war," she said.

She started thinking. How was being an Auror different in their society? "Voldemort, you mean? Eh... there's still trouble out there. Like those British gits who keep attacking us."

"I am Japanese. This is not my war." Takata shook his head and his hand as well. He IS Japanese. This was NONE of his BUSINESS.

"Ya... Voldemort. Ah... So the aurors here have become like an army?" Takata asked.

"I remember the old times when Auror only went after dark wizards. Are there none now?" Takata asked.

Laurena smiled and nodded. "Yes, I know. Japan certainly has nothing to do with the war, unless they interfere, then they get involved in the war, which would get them into big trouble," she said.

She smirked and shook her head. "No, not an army. There aren't much Besturmen for us to become an army," Laurena said quietly, "Well, there are still Dark wizards. But none of them are as strong as Voldemort or Grindelwald"

"And I see no reason why Japan would enter the war for either sides." Takata said cautiously, not hoping that whatever he said could be used as a stereotypical use of Japanese view of Britian and Germany.

"Ah.. So if there was a British Rebel and a Dark Wizard on the loose. Who would you go after?" Takata laughed, and he smiled.

Laurena nodded in agreement, laughing at the next thing Takata said. "Well, the Dark Wizard would be my pick, because - well, - he's Dark! British Rebels are quite easy to handle, but dark wizards..?" she said.

She suddenly remembered about her now half-empty butterbeer glass. She took another sip

"The beer here is terrible..." Takata muttered, setting it aside for good and taking out his wand, he flicked it and a tea set fell into place in front of him. On the tray there were cups, a pot, and some tea leaves.

"Oh well... What if the Dark Wizard was weak? Say... A young You-Know-Who?"

Laurena sighed. "You're not going to give up, are you?" she smirked. "Well, I think there's enough Besturmen to handle the Dark Wizard and the Rebels at the same time."

She took another sip of butterbeer. "Terrible? If it's beer, it's beer. You're not used to beer, I'm assuming?" she asked.
